Parental imprinting is an epigenetic process leading to monoallelic expression of certain genes depending on their parental *** diseases are characterized by growth and metabolic issues starting from birth to *** are mainly due to methylation defects in imprinting control region that drive the abnormal expression of imprinted *** currently lack relevant animal or cellular models to unravel the pathophysiology of growth failure in these *** aimed to characterize the methylation of imprinting regions in dental pulp stem cells and during their differentiation in osteogenic cells(involved in growth regulation)to assess the interest of this cells in modeling imprinting *** collected dental pulp stem cells from five controls and four patients(three with Silver-Russell syndrome and one with Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome).Methylation analysis of imprinting control regions involved in these syndromes showed a normal profile in controls and the imprinting defect in *** results were maintained in dental pulp stem cells cultured under osteogenic ***,we confirmed the same pattern in six other loci involved in imprinting diseases in *** also confirmed monoallelic expression of H19(an imprinted gene)in controls and its biallelic expression in one *** imprinting control regions methylation analysis shows the strong potential of dental pulp stem cells in modeling imprinting diseases,in which imprinting regions are preserved in culture and during osteogenic *** will allow to perform in vitro functional and therapeutic tests in cells derived from dental pulp stem cells and generate other cell-types.

Granitic inselbergs of Lara(Panafrican Chain,Far-North Cameroon):Assets for the implementation of geotourism in Mountainous region

The locality of Lara(Far-North Region,Cameroon)is made up of a pediplain strewn with coalescent *** interaction of internal and external geological processes has contributed to transform the latter into inselbergs,whose geotouristic values are yet to be *** and laboratory work enabled us to select the geomorphosites through their aesthetic value(particular size and shape)and,geomorphological and geological ***,it permitted to study and map the geomorphosites using Optic Microscope,Google Earth,GIS software and many other ***,four inselbergs have been selected and studied in the locality of *** petrographic study of these inselbergs shows that granites are the main components of inselbergs and they present a fine to coarse-grained texture,materialized by quartz,micas,plagioclases and alkali feldspars(white and pink in colour).Inselbergs exhibit vertical and parallel networks of diaclases giving them a stratified appearance in some *** addition,on some inselberg limbs and piedmonts,are built tors which contribute to their *** tops of inselbergs,are embellished by several alluring pedestal *** their flanks,shelters of various shapes and sizes(about 12 m length)have developed through the heaps of blocks *** the ten shelters selected,some have a fairly high cultural value as they are sacred places for the local ***,Lara's granitic inselbergs include enclaves(cognate enclaves and xenocrysts)that also significantly improve their geoheritage *** are landforms with high education and aesthetic value that attracted a larger local and foreign population of about 863 visitors between *** constitute an exceptional geoheritage that could attract more tourists in the locality of Lara;but the promotion of geotourism is needed through interpretative panels,marketing of geomorphosites through leaflets,web,media,and geotours,to mention a few.

The Lipid Bilayer of Biological Vesicles: A Liquid-Crystalline Material as Nanovehicles of Information

The biological intracellular vesicles, formed from the cell membrane or from different cell organelles, play a main role in the intracellular transport, transfer and exchange of molecules and information. Extracellular vesicles are also detected in organisms belonging to any of the three main branches of evolution, Archaea, Bacteria and Eukarya. There is an increasing consensus that these vesicles are important mediators of intercellular communication. All the intracellular and extracellular vesicles present a characteristic lipid composition and organization that governs their formation, targeting and function. This paper gives an overview of the lipid chemical and physical structure, strongly related to their biological function. The properties and role of the different types of lipids from membranes and vesicles are described. Then, their physical structure is shown as self-associated in a bilayer and organized as a lyotropic liquid crystal. The present paper underlies the structural similarity between these biological vesicles and a new synthetic material, the “liquid crystalline fullerodendrimers” obtained from the biological model. It is composed of a basket of carbon associated with a liquid crystalline material and has been shown to exhibit highly efficient properties of information transfer. Our observation stresses the essential role of the liquid crystalline structure of lipids in their function as biological nanovehicles of information. The comparison with the synthetic material contributes to a better understanding of the role of lipids for cell communication in living organisms.

A new Biological Strategy for Drug Delivery: Eucaryotic Cell-Derived Nanovesicles

An efficient drug delivery is the prerequisite of the successful chemotherapeutic treatments of many human diseases. Despite a great number of approaches, the improvement of drug cell internalization remains an actual research challenge. We propose a new biological delivery system based on the extracellular vesicles released by a non-pathological eukaryotic microorganism, Dictyostelium discoideum. After a summary of the main characteristics of these extracellular vesicles, including of their lipid bilayer that appears as a good candidate for initiating membrane fusion, followed by delivery of their encapsulated drug, the capacity of these vesicles to convey drugs into human cells was demonstrated in vitro on two tumor cell lines, resistant leukaemia K562r and cervix carcinoma HeLa cells. A comparison with other extracellular vesicles, like exosomes or bacteria-derived particles, stresses the unique properties of Dictyostelium extracellular nanovesicles for drug delivery.

About a Case of neurotic Angioedema Induced by Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitor

neurotic angioedema may be secondary to ACE (Angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitor. From a case of neurotic angioedema in a hypertensive man under ACE (Angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitor, we expose the clinical characteristics typical of the edema and its evolution. A 73-year-old man has consulted for edema of the face and redness of the palmar surface of the hand not pruriginous for 2 days. He has already had conventional anti-edematous treatments but no changes. In the absence of a technical platform, no paraclinical examination was carried out. The cessation of ACE inhibitor and the administration of tranexamic acid were made immediately. Signs regressed within 24 hours. neurotic angioedema is a diagnostic problem in countries where biological examination is still limited and if practitioners are unaware of the possibility of its occurrence during IEC treatment. While the patient’s prognosis depends on the precocity of management.

Undifferentiated Uterine Sarcoma: A Rare Cause of Pelvic Pain in Young Woman

We report a case of undifferentiated uterine sarcoma occurring in a 20-year-old woman presenting as a pelvic pain with a mass discovered at the physical examination. The tumor ruptured into the abdominal cavity. A total hysterectomy was performed. On the pathological examination, the uterine corpus presents a proliferation of markedly atypical spindle cells admixed with round cells and pleomorphic cells. The tumor deeply infiltrated the myometrium. The tumor was very necrotizing. There were more than 50 mitoses per 10 fields at high magnification. The isthmus was invaded by the tumor. The diagnosis of undifferentiated uterine sarcoma was confirmed by immunohistochemistry. The tumor shows negativity for the following markers: CKAE1/AE3, h-caldesmon, α-SMA, progesterone receptors, desmin, CD 10, alpha foeto-protein, CD 3 and CD 20.

Primary Bilateral Adenocarcinoma of the Fallopian Tube: A Case Report

Primary fallopian tube carcinoma is an uncommon malignancy that accounts for 0.14% to 1.8% of gynecological cancers. The clinical symptom is not specific and preoperative diagnosis is easy to miss or delay because of a lack of specific symptoms. We reported a case of bilateral adenocarcinoma of the Fallopian tubes, was occurred in a 51-year-old postmenopausal woman and diagnosed with bilateral salpingectomy for suspicious of suppurative salpingitis. The diagnosis is not always suspected preoperatively. They are assimilated to salpingitis in the early stage, or to ovarian tumors in the advanced stage. The diagnosis is made postoperatively, after an anatomopathological examination. Its etiology is still poorly understood.

Bilateral Ovarian Fibroma: About a Case Seen at Chu Anosiala, Antananarivo

Ovarian fibroma is a tumor of the stroma and sex cords of the ovary. It is rare and represents 1% to 4% of benign ovarian tumors. It is sometimes associated with Demons-Meigs syndrome, raising suspicion of malignancy at the clinical and paraclinical stages. We report a case of bilateral ovarian fibroma diagnosed in the Pathological Anatomy Department of CHU Anosiala. A 46-year-old woman presented with abdominal pain and pollakiuria. Clinical examination revealed a palpable abdominopelvic mass lateralized to the right. Ultrasound suspected leiomyoma. Foci of microcalcifications were observed. The patient underwent bilateral adnexectomy. The histological study confirmed the diagnosis of bilateral ovarian fibroma. This is the first case of ovarian fibroma reported at the CHU Anosiala.

Appendicular Abscess Revealing Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor of the Appendix

Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is a rare tumor of the digestive tract, but it is the most common of the mesenchymal tumors. The location is often gastric and small intestine. GIST of the appendix is extremely rare. We report one case in a 48-year-old man. He complained of severe pain in the right iliac region. The clinical presentation was typically like acute appendicitis. Abdominal ultrasound was performed and suspected an appendicular abscess. Surgical excision of the appendix was performed and histological diagnosis was “gastrointestinal stromal tumor of the appendix”.
