The aim of the present work is to study the effect of Nano-barium sulfate additions on the physic-mechanical properties of hardened cement pastes. Nano-barium sulfate was prepared by the precipitation method. Eight mixes of filled cement pastes containing 0.5 wt%, 1.0 wt%, 1.5 wt% and 2.0 wt% of both nano-barium sulfate and micro-limestone were prepared and compared to the base OPC. The hydration characteristics were evaluated by the measure of combined water content, bulk density, total porosity and compressive strength for samples hydrated up to 90 days. The progress of hydration reactions was followed up by XRD analysis. The morphology and microstructure were studied by SEM. Nano-size barium sulfate acted as a nucleating agent and enhanced the hydration of cement pastes up to 2.0% mass content. Also, the microstructure was improved considerably. Accordingly, nano-size barium sulfate can be used successfully in the preparation of filled cement.

Objective:To determine the risk factors for dehydration in elderly people in one of Elbehira Governorate’s ***:A descriptive correlational design was utilized in this *** study was conducted at Elnemaria village,Markaz Abo Elmatamir,Elbehira Governorate,*** were collected using 3 tools:a structured interviewing questionnaire,a dehydration knowledge questionnaire,and a dehydration risk appraisal ***:The study found that 29.5%of the par ticipants were aged between 65 and *** constituted 51%of the study par *** majority of the study participants regularly took anti-acids,anti-inflammatory drugs,and *** the elderlies comprising the respondents,40%had a low level of knowledge regarding *** than half of the study subjects were at moderate risk for ***:The study showed that half of the par ticipants had diabetes and a medium level of information about *** study also showed in general that the elderly in the village are exposed to a moderate dehydration rate,and there is also a strong relationship between taking different types of medication and the occurrence of dehydration.

AIM: To develop a mathematical model for the early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with a panel of serum proteins in combination with α-fetoprotein (AFP).METHODS: Serum levels of interleukin (IL)-8, soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1), soluble tumor necrosis factor receptor II (sTNF-RII), proteasome, and β-catenin were measured in 479 subjects categorized into four groups: (1) HCC concurrent with hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection (n = 192); (2) HCV related liver cirrhosis (LC) (n = 96); (3) Chronic hepatitis C (CHC) (n = 96); and (4) Healthy controls (n = 95). The R package and different modules for binary and multi-class classifiers based on generalized linear models were used to model the data. Predictive power was used to evaluate the performance of the model. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis over pairs of groups was used to identify the best cutoffs differentiating the different ***: We revealed mathematical models, based on a binary classifier, made up of a unique panel of serum proteins that improved the individual performance of AFP in discriminating HCC patients from patients with chronic liver disease either with or without cirrhosis. We discriminated the HCC group from the cirrhotic liver group using a mathematical model (-11.3 + 7.38 × Prot + 0.00108 × sICAM + 0.2574 × β-catenin + 0.01597 × AFP) with a cutoff of 0.6552, which achieved 98.8% specificity and 89.1% sensitivity. For the discrimination of the HCC group from the CHC group, we used a mathematical model [-10.40 + 1.416 × proteasome + 0.002024 × IL + 0.004096 × sICAM-1 + (4.251 × 10-4) × sTNF + 0.02567 × β-catenin + 0.02442 × AFP] with a cutoff 0.744 and achieved 96.8% specificity and 89.7% sensitivity. The export oriented agricultural and horticultural crops depends on the export of residue free produce and has created a great potential and demand for the incorporation of biopesticides in crop protection. PGPR with wide scope for commercialization includes Pseudomonas putida. Pseudomonas putida was effective in reducing die back caused by a fungus Botryodiplodia theobromae and phomopsis or arm death, caused by a fungus, Phomopsis viticola of grapevine in vitro and in vivo. Pseudomonas putida showed optimum Siderophore pseudobactin production at 72 h, and growth peak at 120 h. glycerol as a source of carbon and yeast as a source of nitrogen Pseudomonas putida was formulated using polysaccharide dextran starch, which led to the elongation of conservation and the effectiveness of the biofungicide. Pseudomonas putida was very effective as biocontrol agents to reduce the die back and phomopsis diseases on grapevine. The obtained results showed that both bacterial treatments significantly increased the growth parameters as well as fruits dry weights and yield of grapevine.

Controllable synthesis of Na P zeolite and its application in calcium adsorption

NaP zeolite particles were prepared through a template-free hydrothermal condition at 100oC. Parameters like Na2O/Si O2 and Si O2/Al2O3 molar ratios, gel aging time and aging temperature were investigated for regulating the crystallization of the final product. The samples at different synthesis stages were characterized with N2 adsorption at-196oC, field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM), temperature programmed desorption of ammonia adsorption, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric and differential scanning calorimetry analysis and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The experimental results evidenced that a high ordering crystallinity of Na P zeolite was obtained at Na2O/Si O2 and Si O2/Al2O3 molar ratios of 1.10 and 1.40, respectively, and a temperature of 100°C for 4 days of aging. FE-SEM image exhibited polycrystalline aggregates of Na P zeolite with crystallite sizes ranging up to 5.04 μm with cactus/cabbage like structures. The quantitative analysis of the total number of acid sites was found to increase as Na2 O increases. The Na P zeolite sample with a Na2O/Si O2 molar ratio of 1.13 exhibited a large fraction of the acid sites on its external surface, contrary to that synthesized with a relevant ratio of 1.10. The optimized Na P zeolite could be successfully bestowed with excellent sorption properties of Ca(II) in aqueous solution. The kinetic parameters for Ca(II) adsorption were thoroughly investigated.

The structural, dielectric and magnetic properties of pure and Fe-Co co-doped Ba0.9Sr0.1TiO3, (Ba(1-x)SrxTiO3, where (x = 0.10) and (Ba0.9Sr0.1Ti(1-x-y)FexCoyO3), where (x = 0.1, y = 0) and (x = 0 and y = 0.10) and (x = 0.5, y = 0.5) in powder form, abbreviated as (BST) and (BST10FO), (BST10CO) and (BST5F5CO), respectively were prepared by a modified sol gel technique. Crystallization, surface morphology and electrical behavior of BST are improved by Fe3+ and Co2+ ions with optimized grain size. Phase identification by using X-ray diffraction and surface morphology will be studied by using transmission electron microscope (TEM) and scanning electron microscope imaging (SEM). The nano-scale presence and the formation of the tetragonal perovskite phase as well as the crystallinity were detected using the mentioned techniques. The dielectric properties of the prepared samples have been investigated as a function of temperature and frequency. The dielectric measurements are carried out in the frequency range of 42 Hz - 1 MHz, at temperature ranging between 25°C and 250°C. The results showed an abrupt decrease in the dielectric permittivity by increasing the frequency range. The magnetic hysteresis loop confirmed enhancement in the magnetization properties by co-doping with Fe3+-Co2+ ions. An increase in the saturation of the magnetization at room temperature was detected by decreasing the crystallite sizes of the prepared samples.

BiFe1-xCoxO3 (x = 0, 0.03, 0.05 and 0.1) symbolic as (BFO, BF3CO, BF5CO and BF10CO) in powder form has been prepared by sol-gel technique using ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) as a chelating agent. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and FTIR analysis showed rhombohedra distorted BiFeO3 structure with compressive lattice distortion induced by the Co substitution at Fe sites. The transmission electron microscope (TEM) shows irregular particles. The additive of cobalt oxide has led to grains refining giving the following crystallite sizes of 18 nm for BF5Co. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) study reveals that the samples morphology shows relatively uniform grain size distribution. The dielectric properties of BiFeO3 nano-particles in the frequency range of 1 up to 5 MHz at RT revealed that the A.C. conductivity of the prepared samples reaches its maximum value in BF5CO. By decreasing BiFeO3 particle size as a result of doping with different Co ion concentrations, an enhancement in magnetization and a simultaneous suppression in current leakage occurred. The remnant magnetization Mr of BiFe1-xCoxO3 (x = 0, 0.03, 0.05, 0.1) ceramics significantly enhanced, which provides potential applications in information storage.
