An investigation is carried out for understanding the properties of ion–acoustic（IA） solitary waves in an inhomogeneous magnetized electron-ion plasma with field-aligned sheared flow under the impact of q-nonextensive trapped electrons. The Schamel equation and its stationary solution in the form of solitary waves are obtained for this inhomogeneous plasma. It is shown that the amplitude of IA solitary waves increases with higher trapping efficiency（β）, while the width remains almost the same. Further, it is found that the amplitude of the solitary waves decreases with enhanced normalized drift speed, shear flow parameter and the population of the energetic particles. The size of the nonlinear solitary structures is calculated to be a few hundred meters and it is pointed out that the present results are useful to understand the solar wind plasma.

Recent years have witnessed the expeditious evolution of intelligentsmart devices and autonomous software technologies with the expandeddomains of computing from workplaces to smart computing in everydayroutine life activities. This trend has been rapidly advancing towards the newgeneration of systems where smart devices play vital roles in acting intelligently on behalf of the users. Context-awareness has emerged from the pervasive computing paradigm. Context-aware systems have the ability to acquirecontextual information from the surrounding environment autonomously,perform reasoning on it, and then adapt their behaviors accordingly. With theproliferation of context-aware systems and smart sensors, real-time monitoring of environmental situations (context) has become quite trivial. However,it is often challenging because the imperfect nature of context can cause theinconsistent behavior of the system. In this paper, we propose a contextaware intelligent decision support formalism to assist cognitively impairedpeople in managing their routine life activities. For this, we present a semanticknowledge-based framework to contextualize the information from the environment using the protégé ontology editor and Semantic Web Rule Language(SWRL) rules. The set of contextualized information and the set of rulesacquired from the ontology can be used to model Context-aware Multi-AgentSystems (CMAS) in order to autonomously plan all activities of the users andnotify users to act accordingly. To illustrate the use of the proposed formalism,we model a case study of Mild Cognitive Impaired (MCI) patients usingColored Petri Nets (CPN) to show the reasoning process on how the contextaware agents collaboratively plan activities on the user’s behalf and validatethe correctness properties of the system.

Localisation of machines in harsh Industrial Internet of Things(IIoT)environment is necessary for various ***,a novel localisation algorithm is proposed for noisy range measurements in IIoT *** position of an unknown machine device in the network is estimated using the relative distances between blind machines(BMs)and anchor machines(AMs).Moreover,a more practical and challenging scenario with the erroneous position of AM is considered,which brings additional uncertainty to the final position ***,the AMs selection algorithm for the localisation of BMs in the IIoT network is *** those AMs will participate in the localisation process,which increases the accuracy of the final location ***,the closed‐form expression of the proposed greedy successive anchorization process is derived,which prevents possible local convergence,reduces computation,and achieves Cramér‐Rao lower bound accuracy for white Gaussian measurement *** results are compared with the state‐of‐the‐art and verified through numerous simulations.

Growing application of distributed generation units at remote places has led to the evolution of microgrid(MG)*** an MG system functions independently,i.e.,in autonomous mode,unpredictable loads and uncertainties emerge throughout the *** obtain stable and flexible operation of an autonomous MG,a rigid control mechanism is *** this paper,a robust high-performance controller is introduced to improve the performance of voltage tracking of an MG system and to eliminate stability problems.A combination of a resonant controller and a lead-lag compensator in a positive position feedback path is designed,one which obeys the negative imaginary(NI)theorem,for both single-phase and three-phase autonomous MG *** controller has excellent tracking *** is investigated through considering various uncertainties with different load *** feasibility and effectiveness of the controller are also determined with a comparative analysis with some well-known controllers,such as linear quadratic regulator,model predictive and NI approached resonant *** confirms the superi-ority of the designed controller.

A theoretical model of a nonlinear hyperbolic metamaterial is presented in the form of a stack of subwavelength layers of linear plasmonic and nonlinear dielectric materials. A broad picture of the properties of evanescent waves （high-k modes） in this stack is investigated by plotting global transmission diagrams. The presence of nonlinearity strongly modifies these diagrams. The emergence and modification of nonlinear evanescent waves is observed. Some signatures of nonlinear phenomenon such as formation of orbits and trajectories around fixed points are also seen in our work.

The biological function of the novel zinc-finger SWIM domain-containing protein family(ZSWIM)during embryonic development remains ***,we conducted a genome-wide analysis to explore the evolutionary processes of the ZSWIM gene family members in mice,Xenopus tropicalis,zebrafish,and *** identified nine putative ZSWIM genes in the human and mouse genome,eight in the Xenopus genome,and five in the zebrafish *** on multiple sequence alignment,three members,ZSWIM5,ZSWIM6,and ZSWIM8,demonstrated the highest homology across all four *** available RNA sequencing(RNAseq)data,ZSWIM genes were found to be widely expressed across different tissues,with distinct tissuespecific *** identify the functions of the ZSWIM protein family during embryogenesis,we examined temporal and spatial expression patterns of zswim family genes in Xenopus *** real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)revealed that each member had a distinct expression ***-mount in situ hybridization showed that both zswim1 and zswim3 were maternally expressed genes;zswim5 and zswim6were expressed throughout embryogenesis and displayed dynamic expression in the brain,eyes,somite,and bronchial arch at the late tailbud stages;zswim7 was detected in the eye area;zswim8 showed a dynamic expression pattern during the tailbud stages,with expression detected in the brain,eyes,and somite;zswim9 was faintly expressed throughout embryonic *** study provides a foundation for future research to delineate the functions of ZSWIM gene members.

We report the electrical detection of captured gases through measurement of the quantum tunneling characteristics of gas-mediated molecular junctions formed across *** gas-sensing nanogap device consists of a pair of vertically stacked gold electrodes separated by an insulating 6 nm spacer(~1.5 nm of sputteredα-Si and~4.5 nm ALD SiO2),which is notched~10 nm into the stack between the gold *** exposed gold surface is functionalized with a self-assembled monolayer(SAM)of conjugated thiol linker *** the device is exposed to a target gas(1,5-diaminopentane),the SAM layer electrostatically captures the target gas molecules,forming a molecular bridge across the *** gas capture lowers the barrier potential for electron tunneling across the notched edge region,from~5 eV to~0.9 eV and establishes additional conducting paths for charge transport between the gold electrodes,leading to a substantial decrease in junction *** demonstrated an output resistance change of>108 times upon exposure to 80 ppm diamine target gas as well as ultralow standby power consumption ofular bridges for ultralow-power gas sensing.

This paper investigates the production of pure aluminum by using traditional metallurgy and nanotechnology. To make a pure aluminum stronger, extremely cold and mechanical manipulation process was employed and followed by carefully heat treatment cycle. The practical produetion and testing showed that the higher the stored dislocation＇s density after rolling was, the finer the recrystallized grains during heating were. In aluminum, these new grains were only a couple of nanometers in size, several hundred times smaller than the original crystals, making the aluminum much stronger than its original form.
