This paper discusses the integration between GIS and hydrological models and presents a case study relating to the upper section of Moulouya River Basin (UMRB) situated in the east of Morocco. The Basin is an inland water-shed with a total area of approximately 10,000 km2, stretching in the junction between the Middle Atlas, the High Atlas Mountain and the Middle Moulouya basin. From ArcGIS ArcHydro framework data models, different parameters of the Moulouya River and its catchment area have been defined. DEM based ArcHydro model was run on Aster-GDEM V2 data at a horizontal spatial resolution of 30 meters. Several raster and vector products of the Upper Moulouya River and its catchment area have been defined at the end of the model. Final results of the models were discussed and compared with the reality. These results can be used in baseline for advanced hydrology and geomorphology research on the catchment area. They can support for decision-making on ground and surface water resource, distribution and management.

Water management in morocco faces significant challenges in both levels, quality and quantity, in order to address these challenges and to secure the rational and efficient management of water resources, it is necessary to try to understand the different issues involved in the water cycle works! The large number of hydrological studies and techniques used at the Sebou watershed are limited to water quality, and the use of the simpler empirical models, that, do not permit to take into consideration all the factors affecting flow and cycle of water. In the purpose of using the hydrological model SWAT to study the hydrological functioning of the Sebou watershed (Morocco) which faces many problems regarding the management of its water resources like all the other watersheds in our country, this study focuses on the creation, organization and generation of input data (soil, soil occupation, climate…) using a GIS (ARCGIS) then, the configuration and calibration of the model and after that, the evaluation of the results. The main reason behind this work is to measure the adaptability of this model to the selected area in order to generalize the model to the whole Sebou watershed. The results are satisfying;they show that this model can represent the overall hydrological regime of the pilot basin Bab-Merzouka. This model can open up new perspectives regarding the effects of climate change, and the changes caused by humans on water resources, in terms of both quantity and quality.

The development of type 2 diabetes mellitus is a major contributing factor to the worldwide health burden of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD).Insulin resistance,subclinical inflammation,dyslipidemia,obesity,and hypertension are all factors in this reciprocal interaction that contribute to the development of MASLD,which includes hepatocellular carci-noma,advanced fibrosis/cirrhosis,and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH).A new risk factor for MASLD/NASH that affects the course of the disease independently throughout life is gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM).Women with a history of GDM had a higher chance of developing NASH,according to a recent study that used a large-scale *** the precise etiology is yet unknown,temporary disruption of pancreatic beta cell activity during pregnancy may set off systemic inflammation,affecting distant organs including the *** screening and management strategies are crucial in mitigating MASLD progression and preventing adverse cardiovascular events in affected individuals.

We have previously shown the neuroprotective and pro-neurogenic activity of microneurotrophin BNN-20 in the substantia nigra of the“weaver”mouse,a model of progressive nigrostriatal ***,we extended our investigation in two clinically-relevant ***,we assessed the effects of BNN-20 on human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neural progenitor cells and neurons derived from healthy and parkinsonian ***,we assessed if BNN-20 can boost the outcome of mouse neural progenitor cell intranigral transplantations in weaver mice,at late stages of *** found that BNN-20 has limited direct effects on cultured human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neural progenitor cells,marginally enhancing their differentiation towards neurons and partially reversing the pathological phenotype of dopaminergic neurons generated from parkinsonian *** agreement,we found no effects of BNN-20 on the mouse neural progenitor cells grafted in the substantia nigra of weaver ***,the graft strongly induced an endogenous neurogenic response throughout the midbrain,which was significantly enhanced by the administration of microneurotrophin *** results provide straightforward evidence of the existence of an endogenous midbrain neurogenic system that can be specifically strengthened by ***,the lack of major similar activity on cultured human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neural progenitors and their progeny reveals the in vivo specificity of the aforementioned pro-neurogenic effect.

Primary Multiple Cerebral Hydatid Cyst in 8 Year-Old Girl: A Rare Cause of Childhood Seizure

Background: Cystic echinococcosis is a zoonotic infection that occurs worldwide. Humans are infected through ingestion of parasite eggs in contaminated food, water or through direct contact with infected dogs, which are the definite host. Humans serve accidentally as intermediate host, and occurrences are common in children and young adults. Cystic echinococcosis is endemic in Mediterranean, South American, Middle Eastern, Central Asia, East Africa countries and Australia. Multiple cerebral hydatid cysts are very rare with only a few reports in the literature. Case Description: We present the case of an 8-year-old girl who presented with focal seizures, hemiparesis, headache, vomiting and bilateral optic atrophy. Diagnostic workup was performed, and magnetic resonance imaging revealed multiple intracranial cysts predominantly in the right frontal region with significant mass effect. A total of 11 intracranial cysts were removed surgically, and the child recovered uneventfully. Conclusion: Neurosurgeons should keep hydatidosis in the list of differentials when evaluating patients with cystic diseases of the brain. Although the removal of such cysts is challenging, outcomes are excellent when cysts are evacuated without rupture and patients show complete resolution of symptoms.

Extra-Axial Anaplastic Pleomorphic Xanthoastrocytoma Mimicking Meningioma: A Case Report with Literature Review

Background: A number of meningeal neoplastic lesions may radiologically and clinically simulate meningioma, include hemangiopericytomas, solitary fibrous tumors, schwannomas, hematolymphoid lesions, metastases, and others very rarely, also may clinically mimic meningiomas. Case Description: We present the case of A 28-year-old male patient, with no notable medical history, who presented with worsening headaches for 3 months, imbalance, and visual deficits, An initial MRI revealed extra-axial lesion involving the right Parieto-occipital, The tumor was hypointense on T1-weighted MR images, hyperintense signals on T2-weightedMR images, and heterogeneously enhanced suggestive of a meningioma, total resection was achieved, and the histopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of an angioblastic meningioma. However, 15 months later, the patient presented with the same initial visual complaints. A subsequent MRI showed lesion recurrence, leading to a second surgical intervention. The histopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of an anaplastic xanthoastrocytoma. Conclusion: This represents an unusual location for an anaplastic pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma, which should broaden the differential diagnosis of extra-axial lesions.
