Globally, 69.6 million indiv.duals were infected with hepatitis C v.rus (HCv. infection in 2016. Of the six major HCv.genotypes (GT), the most predominant one is GT1, worldwide. The prev.lence of HCv.in Central Asia, which includes most of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), has been estimated to be 5.8% of the total global burden. The predominant genotype in the CIS and Ukraine regions has been reported to be GT1, followed by GT3. Inadequate HCv.epidemiological data, multiple socio-economic barriers, and the lack of regionspecific guidelines hav. impeded the optimal management of HCv.infection in this region. In this regard, a panel of regional experts in the field of hepatology conv.ned to discuss and prov.de recommendations on the diagnosis, treatment, and pre-, on-, and posttreatment assessment of chronic HCv.infection and to ensure the optimal use of cost-effectiv. antiv.ral regimens in the region. A comprehensiv. ev.luation of the literature along with expert recommendations for the management of GT1-GT6 HCv.infection with the antiv.ral agents av.ilable in the region has been prov.ded in this rev.ew. This consensus document will help guide clinical decision-making during the management of HCv.infection, further optimizing treatment outcomes in these regions.

Kinetics of spontaneous crystallization of potassium nitrate from its supersaturated aqueous solutions has been studied simultaneously by electrical conductance and optical transmittance methods. It was found that spontaneous crystallization of potassium nitrate was accompanied by aggregation of crystals. Growth of salt crystals was in the kinetic mode of the growth process, and was described by the equation of the first order regarding supersaturation of solution. The mechanism of aggregation and intergrowth of crystals during bulk crystallization v.a formation of nucleus-bridges between crystals found earlier for sev.ral salts was confirmed. Specific surface energy of potassium nitrate was ev.luated on the basis of the abov. mechanism of aggregation and intergrowth of crystals. The established v.lue of the specific surface energy was reasonable and agreed satisfactorily with the av.ilable literature data. Examination of crystal deposit after completion of crystallization allowed detecting crystal agglomerates of freakish and irregular forms, which may be considered as the direct confirmation of the abov. mechanism of intergrowth of crystals. Kinetics of crystallization, aggregation and size distribution of salt crystals after completion of crystallization hav. been satisfactory described by the earlier proposed model of the crystallization process. An excellent agreement was established between the experimental data on potassium nitrate solubility in aqueous solutions found in the present work and those av.ilable in the literature.

Thin epitaxial films of the palladium-rich Pd_(1-x)Fe_(x) alloy were synthesized and extensiv.ly studied as a tunable ferromagnetic material for superconducting spintronics. The(001)-oriented Mg O single-crystal substrate and the composition range of x = 0.01–0.07 were chosen to support the epitaxial growth and prov.de the films with magnetic properties spanning from v.ry soft ferromagnet for memory applications to intermediately soft and moderately hard for the programmable logic and circuit biasing, respectiv.ly. Dependences of the saturation magnetization, Curie temperature and three magnetic anisotropy constants on the iron content x were obtained for the first time from the analyses of the magnetometry and ferromagnetic resonance data. The experimental results were discussed based on existing theories of dilute ferromagnetic alloys. Simulation of the hysteresis loops within the Stoner-Wohlfarth model indicates the predominant coherent magnetic moment rotation at cryogenic temperatures. The obtained results were compiled in a database of magnetic properties of a palladium-iron alloy in a single-crystal thin-film form considered as a material for superconducting spintronics.

A rev.ew of simulation results, dev.ted to time-dependent modeling of the initial stage of the formation of large-scale v.rtices in the troposphere in the v.cinity of the intertropical conv.rgence zone, is presented. The simulation results were obtained not long ago with the help of the mathematical model of the neutral wind system of the lower atmosphere, dev.loped earlier in the Polar Geophysical Institute. The utilized mathematical model produces three-dimensional distributions of the atmospheric parameters in the height range from 0 to 15 km ov.r a limited region of the Earth’s surface. Simulation results were obtained for the case when the limited three-dimensional simulation domain, situated at low latitudes, is intersected by an intertropical conv.rgence zone in the west-east direction. The rev.ewed simulation results were obtained for v.rious initial configurations of the intertropical conv.rgence zone. Results of numerical modeling hav. indicated that the origin of conv.xities in the form of the intertropical conv.rgence zone can lead to the formation of different large-scale v.rtices in the lower atmosphere, in particular, a tropical cyclone, pair of cyclonic v.rtices, pair of cyclonic-anticyclonic v.rtexes, and triplet of cyclonic v.rtices. The simulation results, obtained earlier and presented indiv.dually in v.rious editions, are rev.ewed and summarized in the present paper. A physical mechanism, responsible for the formation of the simulated large-scale v.rtices in the v.cinity of the intertropical conv.rgence zone, is discussed.

The rapid explosion of human populations and the associated dev.lopment of human-dominated landscapes hav. drastically reduced and fragmented habitat for tigers(Panthera tigris)and leopards(Panthera pardus)across Asia,resulting in multiple small ***,Amur tiger(Panthera tigris altaica)habitat in Russia has remained largely interconnected,except for a break between tigers in southwest Primorye and the southern Sikhote-Alin *** habitat patch in southwest Primorye also retains the last population of Amur leopards(Panthera pardus orientalis).Genetic differentiation of tigers in southwest Primorye and the Sikhote-Alin Mountains along with surv.y data suggest that habitat fragmentation is limiting mov.ment of tigers and leopards across the Razdolnaya Riv.r *** looked at historical and recent surv.y data on tigers and leopards and mapped existing cov.r types to examine land-use patterns of both large felids and humans in the dev.lopment strip along the Razdolnaya *** then used least-cost distance analyses to identify the most effectiv. potential corridor to retain connectiv.ty for large felids between Land of the Leopard National Park and Ussuriskii Zapov.dnik(Reserv.).We identified a single potential corridor that still exists with a total distance of 62.5 km from Land of the Leopard National Park to Ussuriskii Zapov.dnik,mostly(93%)through forested *** recommend formal recognition of a Razdolnaya ecological corridor and prov.de specific recommendations for each of 3 proposed management sections.
