Numerical investigation of thermo-physical properties of non-newtonian fliud in a modelled intestine

Several kinds of researches have been conducted on peristaltic flow of non-Newtonian fluid in modelled oesophagus,stomach and ***,further investigation is still needed es-pecially in the area of mechanical shear stress,the influence of inlet temperature and velocity,Nutsselt number and the history of strain rates experienced by fluid *** study presents the numerical investigation of thermo-physical properties of non-Newtonian fluid in a modelled *** properties investigated were fluid temperature,velocity,Nutsselt number and wall shear *** simulation was performed by solving 3D Navier-Stokes and continuity *** intestinal model was drawn by using Autodesk inventor 2017 while the numerical investigation was conducted by using ANSYS FLUENT *** Computational Fluid Dynamics solver employs the Finite Element Method(FEM)to discretize the governing ***,Hibiscus Sabdariffa Roselle(Sobo),Soymilk(Soya)and Pap(ogi)were the working fluids used for the *** of the results showed that the variation of fluid temperature and heat transfer with axial position across the length of intestinal model were not significantly influenced by the variation of the inlet *** of the model about the pulsating part enhanced heat transfer and nutrient delivery to the intestinal *** of the inlet velocity did not affect the average Nutsselt *** and Sobo had the highest and lowest Nutsselt number,*** displayed the best fluid properties considering flow behaviour while Soya dis-played the best properties for thermal *** results presented in this study are of countless importance in medical,paramedical,engineering applications,thermoregulation system,ther-motherapy,and biomedical disciplines,where analyses and investigation of gastrointestinal tract history can be understudied.

Evaluation of dry eye disease in newly diagnosed anxiety and depression patients using anterior segment optical coherence tomography

Background:We aimed to evaluate dry eye diseases(DED)in patients with newly diagnosed depression and anxiety ***:Forty newly diagnosed depression,35 anxiety patients,and 37 controls without any history of taking psychiatric drugs(or before the beginning of psychiatric medication)and topical ophthalmic drop use,were included in the *** depression and anxiety diagnoses were performed by an experienced *** depression and anxiety tests were used to measure disease *** film break up time(TBUT),Schirmer’s test,oxford scores and ocular surface disease index(oSDi)were admiinistered to *** segment optical coherence tomography was used to measure tear meniscus heights(TMH),tear meniscus depths(TMD)and tear meniscus areas(TMA).Results:in anxiety and depression groups,Schirmer’s test(mm)(7.24±6.02,6.58±4.9 and 18.79±4.9 respectively,pively,pignificantly lower than control *** addition,oSDi and oxford scores were significantly higher than *** scores were 28.01±19,30.43±18.49,14.38±8.14 respectively(p=0.002)and oxford scores were 1.9±0.7,2.1±0.6 and 0.7±0.4 respectively(p=0.001).TMD,TMH and TMA values were significantly lower in anxiety and depression groups compared with control *** between disease inventory scores and dry eye tests were ***:This study showed a relation between DED and newly diagnosed anxiety and depression patients with no history of psychiatric drug *** presence of correlation between dry eye tests and disease inventory scores strengthens this *** is an important knowledge that need to be evaluated in these patients before starting psychiatric medication.

Dibaryon resonances and short-range NN interaction

The dibaryon concept for nuclear force is presented,assuming that the attraction between nucleons at medium distances is mainly due to the s-channel exchange of an intermediate six-quark(dibaryon)*** construct the respective NN interaction model,a microscopic six-quark description of the NN system is used,in which symmetry aspects play a special *** is shown that the NN interaction in all important partial waves can be described by the superposition of long-range t-channel one-pion exchange and s-channel exchange by an intermediate *** model developed in this study provides a good description of both elastic phase shifts and inelasticities of NN scattering in all S,P,D,and F partial waves at energies from zero to 600-800 MeV and even *** parameters of the intermediate six-quark states,corresponding to the best fit of NN scattering data,are found to be consistent with the parameters of the known dibaryon resonances in those NN partial configurations,where their existence has been experimentally *** for new dibaryon states are given as well.

Negative Pion induced Fission with Heavy Target Nuclei

We investigate fission induced by negative pions in copper and bismuth targets using CR-39 dielectric track detectors. The target-detector assemblies in 4π-geometric configuration were exposed at the AGS facility of Brookhaven National Laboratory, USA. The exposed detectors were chemically etched under appropriate etching conditions and scanned to collect data in the form of fission fragments tracks produced as a result of interaction of pions with the target nuclei. Using the track counts, the experimental fission cross sections for copper and bismuth have been measured at energies of 500, 672, 1068 and 1665 MeV and compared with the calculation using the Cascade-Exciton Model code （CEM95）. The values of fission probability based on experimental fission cross-sections have been compared with the theoretically calculated values of fission probabilities obtained using the CEM95 code. Good agreement is observed between the measured and computed results.

This report describes a patient with metastatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma treated with bevacizumab and nanoparticle albumin-bound *** treatment was well tolerated and led to the stabilization of an aggressive variant of the disease. This case report is the first one that describes the activity of the combination of chemotherapy and bevacizumab in epithelioid *** describing the activity of bevacizumab and other agents(thalidomide,lenalidomide,and interferon) believed to possess anti-angiogenic activities is also reviewed.

The antiplasmodial effect of the extracts and formulated capsules of Phyllanthus amarus on Plasmodium yoelii infection in mice

objective:To investigate the antiplasmodial activity of the extracts of Phyllanthus amarus(P. amarus) on Plasmodium yoelii(***)(a resistant malaria parasite strain used in animal stuthes) infection in ***:The aqueous and ethanol extracts of the whole plant of Phyllanthus amarus was administered to Swiss albino mice at doses of 200 mg/kg/day,400 mg/ kg/day,800 mg/kg/day and 1 600 mg/kg/day and the prophylactic and chemotherapeutic effect of the extracts against *** infection in mice was investigated and compared with those of standard antimalaria drugs used in the treatment of malaria parasite *** toxicity test was carried out in mice to determine the safety of the plant extract when administered orally. Results:The results showed that the extracts demonstrated a dose-dependent prophylactic and chemotherapeutic activity with the aqueous extracts showing slightly higher effect than the ethanol *** antiplasmodial effects of the extracts were comparable to the standard prophylactic and chemotherapeutic drugs used in chloroquine resistant Plasmodium infection although the activity depended on the dose of the extract *** extracts showed prophylactic effect by significantly delaying the onset of infection with the suppression of 79% at a dose of 1 600 mg/kg/***:The results obtained indicate that the extracts of the whole plant of *** possess repository and chemotherapeutic effects against resistant strains of *** in Swiss albino *** findings justify the use of the extract of *** in traditional medicine practice,for the treatment of malaria infections.

Features of ^(90)Sr behavior in Crimean lakes with different salinity of their water environment

The comparative study of technogenic ^(90)Sr behavior features in Crimea lakes’ ecosystems with different levels of salinity was carried out in *** sources of ^(90)Sr input were identified for all the studied lakes:the primary source concerned with atmospheric fallout immediately after the Chernobyl NPP accident and the secondary long-term input of this radionuclide by *** half-life of the ^(90)Sr concentration in the water of the hypers aline Lake Sasyk-Sivash was estimated to vary from 0.8 to 1.1 years after the closure of the North Crimean Canal(NCC).Biogeochemical processes in the lake under the absence of the secondary source of the radionuclide input were shown to decrease in the ^(90)Sr residence time in the water column by 131 *** brackish water bodies,a significant factor influencing the radionuclide concentration in ecosystems of lakes was the pH of their water,while for hypers aline lakes the level of water salinity was the main factor determining ^(90)Sr *** concentration of ^(90)Sr in bottom sediments of studied lakes depended mainly on this radionuclide concentration in a water *** ^(90)Sr distribution factors(Kd) for studied lakes’ bottom sediments varied in a range of n·10^(0)÷n·10^(2) for hypersaline lakes and of n·10^(1)÷n·10^(2) for lakes with brackish *** to the closure of the NCC,the ^(90)Sr redistribution took place in lake ecosystems only under the geochemical processes within the water bodies *** results obtained in this work are of particular importance as a starting point or a basis for further radioecological studies of the Crimean inland waters after the reopening of the NCC and the Dnieper waters re-entering the territory of Crimea in 2022after the 8 years of their absence.

Phase composition,conductivity,and sensor properties of cerium-doped indium oxide

The hydrothermal synthesis of in_(2)o_(3)and Ceo_(2)–in_(2)o_(3)is investigated as well as the properties of sensor layers based on these *** the synthesis of in_(2)o_(3),intermediate products in(oH)_(3)and inooH are formed,which are the precursors of stable cubic(c-in_(2)o_(3))and metastable rhombohedral(rh-in_(2)o_(3))phases,respectively.A transition from c-in_(2)o_(3)to rh-in_(2)o_(3)is observed with the addition of Ceo_(2).The introduction of cerium into rh-in_(2)o_(3)results in a decrease in the sensor response to hydrogen,while it increases in composites based on c-in_(2)o_(3).The data on the sensor activity of the composites correlate with XPS results in which Ceo_(2)causes a decrease in the concentrations of chemisorbed oxygen and oxygen vacancies in rh-in_(2)o_(3).The reverse situation is observed in composites based on c-in_(2)o_(3).Compared to in_(2)o_(3)and Ceo_(2)–in_(2)o_(3)obtained by other methods,the synthesized composites demonstrate maximum response to H_(2)at low temperatures by 70–100℃,and have short response time(0.2–0.5 s),short recovery time(6–7 s),and long-term stability.A model is proposed for the dependence of sensitivity on the direction of electron transfer between in_(2)o_(3)and Ceo_(2).

建立了聚晶金刚石(PDC)钻头切削齿切削岩石过程的有限元模型,模拟了不同形状切削齿不同切削深度下的线性和圆弧切削过程。模拟前确定了切削齿的空间形态、切削速度、切削深度、材料的流变模型、摩擦模型等。模拟结果表明:线性和圆弧切削过程没有本质区别;各类切削齿的切削力波动均为振荡和不均匀的,不存在周期性;采用同一切削齿时不同切削深度下的切削力波动没有类似规律,但切削深度增加会引起波动幅度增大;切削深度为0.5 mm和1.0 mm时,切削参数保持稳定后平均切削力减小,而切削深度为2.0 mm时,进入稳定切削区后平均切削力并未减小;使用球形齿和圆锥形齿时切削力较小,而使用锥形齿、斜角形齿和平板形齿时切削力较大;采用平板形齿时切削力波动图上单位时间内峰数最少,采用球形齿时最多。
