The soluti.ns of the Schrödi.ger wi.h more general exponenti.l screened coulomb (MGESC), Yukawa potenti.l (YP) and the sum of the mi.ed potenti.l (MGESCY) have been presented usi.g the Parametri. Ni.i.orov-Uvarov Method (pNUM). The bound state energy ei.envalues and the correspondi.g un-normali.ed ei.enfuncti.ns expressed i. terms of hypergeometri. functi.ns were obtai.ed. Some deri.ed equati.ns were used to calculate numeri.al values for MGESC, YP, and MGESCY potenti.ls for di.tomi. molecules wi.h di.ferent screeni.g parameters (α) for l = 0 and l = 1 state wi.h V0 = 2.75 MeV and V1 = 2.075 MeV. We observed an i.crease i. l value;the parti.les behave more repulsi.e than attracti.e. The numeri.al values for di.ferent l-states at di.ferent screeni.g parameters for CO molecules (r = 1.21282) and NO molecule (r = 1.1508) were obtai.ed usi.g the bound state energy ei.envalue of the Schrodi.ger equati.n for MGESC, YP and MGESCY potenti.ls. Potenti.l vari.ti.n wi.h i.termolecular di.tance (r) for some of the parti.les movi.g under the i.fluence of MGESC, Yukawa and the mi.ed potenti.l (MGESCY) were also studi.d. We also observed the vari.ti.n of the MGESC potenti.l wi.h the radi.l di.tance of separati.n between the i.teracti.g parti.les (r) for di.ferent screeni.g parameters (α) wi.h V0 = 2.75 MeV at l = 0 and l = 1 and YP wi.h V1 = 2.075 MeV at l = 0 and l = 1 as purely di.tomi. parti.les i. nature. The energi.s plotted agai.st the pri.ci.al quantum number n for di.ferent values of (α) for both CO and NO show closed resemblance even at di.ferent values of the potenti.l depth. The energy plots of the YP and MGESC potenti.l for both CO and NO molecules as n→∞, and the energy E→0, shows exothermal behavi.ur. The energy expressi.n for the mi.ed potenti.ls V0 = 5 MeV and V1 = 10 MeV, shows that both di.tomi. molecules possesses si.i.ar behavi.ur.

Background: The ear and face are i.di.pensable and di.ti.cti.e features for heari.g and i.enti.i.ati.n. Objecti.es: Thi. study was desi.ned to generate anthropometri. data of the ear and faci.l i.di.es of females of Efi. and i.i.i. chi.dren i. Cross Ri.er and Akwa i.om States, show morphologi.al and aestheti. di.ferences and ethni.i.y. Methods: A total of 600 female chi.dren (300 Efi.s and 300 i.i.i.s) aged 2 to 10 years that met the i.clusi.n cri.eri. were chosen from selected pri.ary schools i. Calabar Muni.i.ali.y, Calabar South of Cross Ri.er State and from Uyo, i.u of Akwa i.om State, Ni.eri.. Standardi.ed measurements of face length, face wi.th, ear length, and ear wi.th were taken wi.h a spreadi.g cali.er;the faci.l (proscopi.) and ear (auri.ular) i.di.es were determi.ed. Results: Efi. subjects presented a mean face length of 8.36 ± 0.06 cm, face wi.th of 11.04 ± 0.04 cm, ear length of 4.92 ± 0.02 cm, and ear wi.th of 3.06 ± 0.01 cm. i.i.i. subjects had mean values for face length, face wi.th, ear length, and ear wi.th as 8.17 ± 0.05 cm, 10.75 ± 0.05 cm, 4.77 ± 0.03 cm, and 2.94 ± 0.02 cm respecti.ely. The mean faci.l i.dex and ear i.dex for Efi. subjects were 75.68 ± 0.31 and 62.16 ± 0.27 respecti.ely;whi.e the mean faci.l and ear i.di.es for i.i.i. subjects were 74.79 ± 0.36 and 61.80 ± 0.34 respecti.ely. Di.tri.uti.n of Soi.-Bound Lead Ari.i.g from Rai.fall-Runoff Events at i.pact Berm of a Mi.i.ary Shooti.g Range

Surface runoff from rai.fall event i. an i.portant i.di.ator of metal mobi.i.y i. soi., whi.h may enhance non-poi.t source contami.ati.n of soi.. Thi. study i. desi.ned to assess the mobi.i.y of soi.-bound lead through si.ulated rai.fall runoff experi.ent and i.s spati.l di.tri.uti.n wi.hi. the vi.i.i.y of a berm at a major mi.i.ary shooti.g range. Contami.ati.n was more si.ni.i.ant at the i.pact area of berm, i.di.ati.g threefold i.crease i. Pb (17,500 ± 3811 μg/g) wi.hi. a space of ten years. However, the non-i.pact area (459 ± 147 μg/g) was less contami.ated. Other metals (Cu, Cd, Cr, Ni.and Zn) analyzed were about background levels except for Cu at i.pact area. The enri.hment rati. of Pb i. runoff sedi.ents was mostly hi.h for the 0.43 mm sedi.ent fracti.ns i.dependent of rai.fall condi.i.n. Pri.ci.al component analysi. (PCA) bi.lot showed strong correlati.n between spati.l di.tri.uti.ns of metals around the vi.i.i.y of the berm (farmlands behi.d the berm) wi.h concentrati.ns on the i.pact berm soi.. Surface runoff si.ulated on i.pact area soi. had hi.h concentrati.ns of Pb (40.4 - 65.6 μg/mL) whi.h could further lead to enri.hment of soi.-Pb levels wi.hi. the vi.i.i.y of the berm. Decontami.ati.n measure i. therefore requi.ed to mi.i.i.e extensi.e contami.ati.n of surroundi.g soi.s of the i.pact berm due to rai.fall runoff events.

Brucellosi. i. a reemergi.g zoonoti. di.ease that causes more than half a mi.li.n i.fecti.ns to humans every year. The di.ease i. common i. most developi.g countri.s, the human mortali.y rate i. about 2%, and the di.ease causes severe rheumati.m, i.ferti.i.y i. males, spontaneous aborti.n and also results i. wastage of resources through prolonged treatment. Brucella organi.ms are also potenti.l bi.logi.al weapon whi.h could be cheaper to produce but more devastati.g than chemi.al weapons. About 5 mi.i.i.res of blood was drawn from 228 subjects usi.g steri.e vacutai.ers and analyzed by usi.g standard tube aggluti.ati.n tests: (SAT3 160) and ELi.A (i.G, i.M) ki.s speci.i. for Brucella abortus and Brucella meli.ensi. anti.odi.s. Semi.structured questi.nnai.e was admi.i.tered to collect data. i. the study, overall sero prevalence was 70 (30.8%). More male parti.i.ated i. the study wi.h a frequency of 24.6% of whom 7.92% falls wi.hi. the age group of 20 to 30, followed by 31 - 35 years wi.h 5.72% and 3.52% wi.hi. 36 - 45 years. Least affected were those i. the age groups above 46 years (2.20%). Approxi.ately, 21.54% of the subjects had formal educati.n ei.her at Qurani., pri.ary and secondary or terti.ry level. Majori.y acqui.ed Qurani. educati.n (9.68%), 7.48% pri.ary and 0.88% had terti.ry trai.i.g. A total of 21 (9.24%) never acqui.ed any form of educati.n. Headache, muscle aches, malai.e, chi.ls and fati.ue were the most common cli.i.al si.ns and symptoms experi.nced by about 30% among the parti.i.ants. i. the di.tri.uti.n of Brucella anti.odi.s, ELi.A di.gnosti. ki.s showed hi.h sensi.i.i.y wi.h the prevalence rate of 18.04% (n = 41) followed by SAT 12.76% (n = 29). The sensi.i.i.y and speci.i.i.y of RDPT ki.s were 37 % and 69%, wi.h a posi.i.e and negati.e predi.ti.e value of 18% and 86% respecti.ely. Occurrence of Typhoi.al and Non-Typhoi.al Salmonellae among Poultry Workers i. the Southern, Ni.eri.

Typhoi. fever and non-typhoi.al salmonellosi. remai. endemi. i. most developi.g countri.s wi.h large scale transmi.si.n through contami.ated food and dri.ki.g water. Si.ce the early 2000s, poultry has also been found to be a common food source for Salmonella enteri.i.i. i.fecti.ns. A total of 500 blood, stool, cloaca swab and egg shell swab speci.ens were collected respecti.ely from poultry, non-poultry workers and bi.ds i. Akwa i.om State and screened for Salmonella speci.s usi.g standard cultural and serologi.al techni.ues. The overall prevalence rate was 117 (23.4%). Salmonella speci.s were di.tri.uted i. all the three senatori.l di.tri.ts of the State, percentage di.tri.uti.n of Salmonella i.olates was 42 (25%) for Uyo, 35 (20.8%) for Eket and 40 (23.8%) were i.olated from i.ot Ekpene senatori.l di.tri.ts. Out of 372 human subjects screened 77 (20.7%) were posi.i.e and 38 (20.4%) were i.olated from non-poultry workers whi.e 39 (21.0%) were i.olated from poultry Staff i. the three senatori.l di.tri.ts. Out of 128 samples of poultry products analysed 40 (31.3%) were i.olated. 23 (18%) were i.olated from cloaca swabs whi.e 17 (13.3%) were i.olated from egg shell swabs. i. thi. study, all the serologi.al si.ni.i.ant Typhoi. fever cases were confi.med by blood culture. Accordi.g to sero-groupi.g and source of sample collecti.n 23.9% S. typhi.was i.olated from human followed by S. paratyphi.A (20.5%) whi.e S. enteri.i.i. and S. galli.arum (19.7%). Among poultry products S. galli.arum, S. enteri.i.i., S, pullorum, S. paratyphi.A, and S. typhi.uri.m were i.olated from bi.d Cloaca swab and Egg shell swab. A total of 1560 blood speci.ens were asepti.ally collected from i.ternally Di.placed Persons compri.i.g female and male from the warri.g communi.i.s of Bakassi.Peni.sular and Eti. Ekpo Local Government Area i. South Southern, Ni.eri.. The speci.ens were screened for H. pylori.usi.g Eli.a ki.s followi.g standard serologi.al techni.ues. The overall prevalence rate was 464 (29.7%). There was si.ni.i.ant di.ference (p H. pylori.i.fecti.n;i.s di.tri.uti.n vari.d between age group, educati.nal status, habi.s or behavi.rs of the subjects wi.h chi.dren wi.hi. 5 to 14 years havi.g the hi.hest rate of 274 (17.6%), followed by 78 (4.99%) from adults (51 years and above) and 17 (1.08%) from acti.e age range of 36 - 45 years old. Subjects wi.h pri.ary and qurani. level of educati.n showed a total of 274 (17.56%) posi.i.e cases to H. pylori. Analysi. of sex-speci.i. di.tri.uti.n revealed that females had the hi.hest prevalence of 312 (20%). The heli.obacter i.fecti.n shows a si.ni.i.ant di.ference at (p H. pylori.i.fecti.n. Crowdi.g i. camps and i.creasi.g household contact have been consi.ered as ri.k factors of H. pylori.i.fecti.n. Adequate i.frastructural provi.i.n and avai.abi.i.y of portable water wi.h good hygi.ni. envi.onment wi.l drasti.ally reduce the hi.h rate spread of H. pylori.bacteri.m i. the i.Ps communi.i.s i. Ni.eri..
