Thi. paper presents the results of studyi.g the surface properti.s changes of a ther-moregulati.g coati.g based on polystyrene and si.i.aﬁller after proton i.radi.ti.n wi.h an en-ergy of 50 keV at afluence of 3�1015 cm�*** proton i.radi.ti.n,the values of the contact angle of wetti.g wi.h water i.crease by 3.5%and 14.9%for polystyrene and the coati.g,*** free surface energy(energy of the surface layer)of polystyrene and the coat-i.gs before and after proton i.radi.ti.n was calculated usi.g the Owens-Wendt-Rabel-Kaelble *** was a si.ni.cant i.crease i. the polari.y of the polystyrene surface(gp i.creased by a factor of 2.2)after proton *** the coati.g,an i.crease i. gp by a factor of 3.89 was observed after proton *** changes i. the coati.g were presented by i. Fouri.r spectroscopy.A sli.ht decrease i. the absorpti.n i.tensi.y of all characteri.ti. bands compared to the uni.radi.ted sample was *** was found that the i.radi.ti.n of the coati.g wi.h protons led to the formati.n of macromolecules wi.h hydroxyl,carbonyl,and carboxyl bonds,as well as the formati.n of di.eri. and oli.omeri. si.oxane *** was also found that after i.radi.ti.n of a pure polystyrene sample wi.h protons,the value of the solar absorpti.n as i.creased by only 4.2%;whereas for the coati.g wi.h si.i.aﬁller,the value of as i.creased by 28.6%.

The Cap Pushi.g Response (CPR) i. a free-flyi.g techni.ue used to study learni.g and memory i. honey bees (Api. melli.era). The seri.s of experi.ents outli.ed i. thi. paper ai.ed to test whether honey bees exhi.i. the cogni.i.e concept of “expectancy” uti.i.i.g the CPR i. a wei.ht di.ferenti.ti.n paradi.m. Fi.e previ.us experi.ents i. our laboratory have explored whether the concept of expectancy can account for honey bee performance and have all fai.ed to support the cogni.i.e i.terpretati.n. The fi.st experi.ent exami.ed i. bees could di.ferenti.te between the two caps i. the amount of force they used to push the cap and the di.tance the cap was pushed when the caps were presented one at a ti.e. The second experi.ent explored cap wei.ht preference by presenti.g bees wi.h a choi.e between the two caps. The thi.d and fourth experi.ents tested the bee’s abi.i.y to expect reward or puni.hment based on cap wei.ht. Results revealed that bees were found to have a strong preference for the li.ht cap and therefore were not able to expect reward or puni.hment based on cap wei.ht. These experi.ents contri.ute to the debate on whether bees have “cogni.i.e” representati.ns and conti.ue to support the behavi.ri.t i.terpretati.n.

Wrought and laser powder bed fusi.n （LPBF） Ti.6Al-4V speci.ens were comparati.ely evaluated， wi.h the objecti.e to determi.e LPBF Ti.6-4’s sui.abi.i.y for bi.medi.al appli.ati.ns. Testi.g i.cluded nanoi.dentati.n， cycli. polari.ati.n i. si.ulated body flui. （SBF， 37 ℃ ）， and dry and SBF “Ball-on-Plate” sli.i.g. Wrought Ti.6-4 exhi.i.ed a lamellar （α+β） mi.rostructure， whereas LPBF di.played a fi.e-grai.ed α'-martensi.e mi.rostructure. LPBF Ti.6-4 demonstrated ～3% hi.her i.dentati.n modulus and ～32% hi.her hardness， whi.e wrought Ti.6-4 showed ～8% hi.her plasti.i.y. Both alloys exhi.i.ed low corrosi.n rates (10–5mA/cm2order) and true passi.i.y (10–4mA/cm2order). No locali.ed corrosi.n was observed i. ei.her alloy， except for occasi.nal metastable pi.ti.g i. the LPBF alloy. However， LPBF Ti.6-4 presented hi.her corrosi.n rate and passi.e current， ascri.ed to i.s martensi.i. structure. Duri.g dry sli.i.g， LPBF Ti.6-4 exhi.i.ed ～14% lower volume loss compared to wrought Ti.6-4. Sli.i.g i. SBF i.creased volume losses for both alloys， wi.h wear resi.tances nearly equali.ed， as the advantage of LPBF Ti.6-4 decreased due to more i.tensi.e wear-accelerated corrosi.n i.duced by the stressed martensi.e. Overall， the results demonstrate the sui.abi.i.y of LPBF Ti.6Al-4V for bi.medi.al uses.

Background: i.adequate antenatal care, both i. coverage and standard, has been li.ked wi.h poor pregnancy outcomes. i. a resource poor setti.g, home deli.ery i. consi.ered very cheap, but the possi.le outcome of such pregnanci.s has been a subject of i.terest. Thi. study evaluated the associ.ti.n of booki.g status wi.h pregnancy outcomes. Objecti.es: To exami.e the factors that i.fluence booki.g and i.pact of the booki.g status on pregnancy outcomes. Methods: Thi. was a hospi.al-based prospecti.e cohort study of 240 (120 booked and 120 un-booked) pregnant mothers selected through systemati. random sampli.g. The study was carri.d out at the Department of Obstetri.s and Gynaecology, Alex Ekwueme Federal Uni.ersi.y Teachi.g Hospi.al Abakali.i. Ni.eri.. Chi.square test, t-test and logi.ti. regressi.n were used for analysi.. Results: The mean age of the parti.i.ants was 30.39 ± 5.05 years and 29.05 ± 6.36 years respecti.ely for the booked and unbooked. Mari.al status (OR = 6.35, 95% Ci.= 1.24 - 32.59), educati.nal status (OR = 36.40, 95% Ci.= 5.26-152.83), place of resi.ence (OR = 0.15, 95% Ci.= 0.06 - 0.41), partner’s support (OR = 0.05, 95% Ci.= 0.01 - 0.37), fami.y support (OR = 0.03, 95% Ci.= 0.01 - 0.13), mode of deli.ery (OR = 0.23, 95% Ci.= 0.12 - 0.46), APGAR score i. fi.st mi.ute (OR = 6.02, 95% Ci.= 2.45 - 14.83) and NBi.U admi.si.n (OR = 3.75, 95% Ci.= 1.67 - 8.43) were associ.ted wi.h booked status. However, bei.g unmarri.d, nulli.ari.y/grandmulti.ari.y, low level of educati.n, blue colar jobs, low i.come, rural dwelli.g and poor partner and poor fami.y support were associ.ted wi.h the unbooked. The booked parturi.nts had a better peri.atal outcome compared the unbooked. Conclusi.n/Recommendati.n: There was hi.h prevalence of operati.e deli.eri.s, peri.atal morbi.i.y and mortali.y among the unbooked mothers. Gi.l chi.d educati.n, employment and poverty allevi.ti.n would i.prove antenatal care uti.i.ati.n.
