Wearable sensors and supercapacitors using electroplated-Ni/ZnO antibacterial fabric

Herein,nickel nanocones and zinc oxide nanosheets were electroplated onto a fabric to produce multifunctional(wearable,stretchable,washable,hydrophobic,and antibacterial)materials with sensing,heating,and supercapacitive *** these functionalities are integrated into a one-layered fabric that can be used as a portable intelligent electronic textile for potential application in healthcare monitoring,smart sportswear,and energy *** nickel enhances the electrical conductivity and thus increases the electron charge transfer for supercapacitor *** integration of ZnO with the Ni-plated fabric provides pseudocapacitance via redox reactions with the *** resistance of the Ni/ZnO fabric changes in response to external stimuli such as temperature and *** voltage is applied,the fabric generates heat through Joule heating,demonstrating its potential application as winter *** superior mechanical durability of the fabric was confirmed through bending and stretching *** hydrophobic surface prevents viruses contained in liquid droplets from infiltrating the *** addition,bacterial growth is inhibited because of the antibacterial properties of the Ni/ZnO fabric and because of Joule *** one-layered fabric integrated with such multiple functionalities is expected to be applicable in the development of next-generation portable and wearable electronic textiles in various industries.

BACKGROUND Orthopedic surgeries after device implantation are susceptible to infections and may require device removal in the worst *** this reason,many efforts are being made to control infections after spinal surgery;however,the number of infec-tion cases is increasing owing to the increasing number of elderly *** SUMMARY A 75-year-old male with a chronic spinal defect due to previous spine surgery underwent reconstruction using a perforator-based island *** bursectomy and confirmation that there was no connection with the deep tissue,reconstruction was ***,wound disruption occurred with abscess formation on postoperative day 29,which led to an imaging workup revealing delayed deep tissue *** Infection is one of the most common causes of surgical wound dehiscence and is associated with devastating results if not controlled promptly and *** should always suspect delayed infections when reconstructing chronic soft tissue defects.

BACKGROUND To the best of our knowledge,cases of Kawasaki disease(KD)occurring at the age of 12 are rare,even in Asia where the incidence of KD is *** report a case of lymph-node-first presentation of KD(NFKD)in a 12-year-old girl with Mycoplasma pneumoniae(***)infection who presented with prolonged fever and lymphadenitis refractory to macrolide *** SUMMARY A previously healthy 12-year-old girl presented with fever,myalgia,sore throat,swelling,and tenderness on the right side of the *** was initially diagnosed with lymphadenitis caused by *** refractory to macrolide *** had elevated brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)***,the patient was diagnosed with *** receiving intravenous immunoglobulin,the fever resolved,and her symptoms *** NFKD should be differentiated from adolescent lymphadenitis presenting with prolonged fever by checking the BNP level early.

This study explains the factors that enhance the innovation performance of a cluster by focusing on its knowledge *** on the literature on industry clusters,organizational diversity,and innovation,we suggest testable ***,this study suggests that two types of organizational diversity(diversity of nationality and organization type)positively impact the innovation performance of the *** addition,the cluster network size and embeddedness have a positive moderating effect on the relationship between organizational diversity and innovation *** study aims to determine whether the innovation performance of industry clusters varies depending on the degree of diversity of organizations in the cluster and whether their network characteristics may strengthen the positive effect of organizational *** study contributes to the research stream related to industry clusters and organizational diversity and provides practical implications to practitioners participating in creating and growing such clusters.

The sleeve sealing ball seat is one of the important components in the multistage fracturing process of horizontal *** erosion and wear of the surface will decrease the sealing performance of the fracturing ball and the ball *** leads to pressure leakage during the fracturing process and fracturing *** this paper,combined with the actual ball seat materials and working conditions during the fracturing process,the erosion tests of ductile iron and tungsten carbide materials under different erosion speeds,angles,and mortar concentrations are carried *** the erosion test results were analyzed by mathematical fitting,and a set of erosion models suitable for sliding sleeve setting ball seat materials were innovatively *** the first time,this paper combines the erosion model obtained from the experiment and the computational fluid dynamics(CFD)with Fluent software to simulate the erosion of the ball *** on the simulation results,the morphology of the sliding sleeve seat ball after erosion is *** analysis of the test and simulation results,it is showed that the erosion rate of tungsten carbide material is lower and the wear resistance is better under the condition of small angle *** research can offer a strong basis for fracturing site selection,surface treatment methods,and prediction of failure time of ball seats.

Elucidation of a reaction mechanism is the most critical aspect for designing electrodes for highperformance secondary ***,we investigate the sodium insertion/extraction into an iron fluoride hydrate(FeF_(3)·0.5H_(2)O)electrode for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs).The electrode material is prepared by employing an ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium-tetrafluoroborate,which serves as a reaction medium and precursor for F^(-)*** crystal structure of FeF_(3)·0.5H_(2)O is observed as pyrochlore type with large open 3-D tunnels and a unit cell volume of 1129A^(3).The morphology of FeF_(3)·0.5H_(2)O is spherical shape with a mesoporous *** microstructure analysis reveals primary particle size of around 10 *** FeF_(3)·0.5H_(2)O cathode exhibits stable discharge capacities of 158,210,and 284 mA h g^(-1) in three different potential ranges of 1.5-4.5,1.2-4.5,and 1.0-4.5 V,respectively at 0.05 C *** specific capacities remained stable in over 50 cycles in all three potential ranges,while the rate capability was best in the potential range of 1.5-4.5 *** electrochemical sodium storage mechanism is studied using X-ray absorption spectroscopy,indicating higher conversion at a more discharged ***-situ M?ssbauer spectroscopy strengthens the results for reversible reduction/oxidation of *** results will be favorable to establish high-performance cathode materials with selective voltage window for SIBs.

Tracing a resonance frequency of a high quality factor(Q)optical cavity facilitates subpicometer displacement measurements of the optical cavity via Pound-Drever-Hall(PDH)locking scheme,tightly synchronizing a laser frequency to the optical *** we present observations of subfemtometer displacements on a ultrahigh-Q single-crystal MgF_(2)whispering-gallery-mode microcavity by frequency synchronization between a 1 Hz cavity-stabilized laser and a resonance of the MgF_(2) cavity using PDH laser-cavity *** characterize not only the displacement spectral density of the microcavity with a sensitivity of 1.5×10^(-16) m/Hz^(1/2) over the Fourier offset frequency ranging from 15 mHz to 100 kHz but also a 1.77 nm displacement fluctuation of the microcavity over 4500 *** measurement capability not only supports the analysis of integrated thermodynamical and technical cavity noise but allows for minute displacement measurements using laser-cavity locking for ultraprecise positioning,metrology,and sensing.
