Recent advancements in stem cell technology open a new door for patients suffering from diseases and disorders that have yet to be *** cell-based therapy,including human pluripotent stem cells(hPsCs)and multipotent mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs),has recently emerged as a key player in regenerative *** are defined as self-renewable cell types conferring the ability to differentiate into various cellular phenotypes of the human body,including three germ *** are multipotent progenitor cells possessing self-renewal ability(limited in vitro)and differentiation potential into mesenchymal lineages,according to the International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy(ISCT).This review provides an update on recent clinical applications using either hPSCs or MSCs derived from bone marrow(BM),adipose tissue(AT),or the umbilical cord(UC)for the treatment of human diseases,including neurological disorders,pulmonary dysfunctions,metabolic/endocrine-related diseases,reproductive disorders,skin burns,and cardiovascular ***,we discuss our own clinical trial experiences on targeted therapies using MsCs in a clinical setting,and we propose and discuss the MSC tissue origin concept and how MSC origin may contribute to the role of MSCs in downstream applications,with the ultimate objective of facilitating translational research in regenerative medicine into clinical *** mechanisms discussed here support the proposed hypothesis that BM-MSCs are potentially good candidates for brain and spinal cord injury treatment,AT-MSCs are potentially good candidates for reproductive disorder treatment and skin regeneration,and UC-MsCs are potentially good candidates for pulmonary disease and acute respiratory distress svndrometreatment.

AIM To examine the largest tertiary referral center in southern and central Vietnam from 2010 to 2016, evaluating epidemiological trends of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) and viral hepatitis B-C in this resource-limited *** We extracted data of patients receiving care from Cho Ray Hospital(Ho Chi Minh City), the largest oncology referral center in southern and central Vietnam, from 2010 to 2016. We collected information on patient age, gender, geographic distribution, and disease characteristics including disease stage, tumor biomarker levels [serum alpha-fetoprotein(AFP), AFP-L3 isoform percentage, and prothrombin induced by induced by vitamin K absence-Ⅱ], and serological testing for hepatitis B virus(HBV) and hepatitis C virus(HCV) *** Data from 24091 HCC patients were extracted, with sample demographics comprising mostly male(81.8%) and older age(however with 8.5% younger than 40 years old). This patient sample included a geographic catchment population of 56 million people(60% of the country's total population of 92.7 million), derived from 38 provinces and municipalities in Vietnam. Chronic HBV infection was found in 62.3% of cases, and chronic HCV infection in 26.0%. HBV and HCV co-infection was seen in 2.7%. Cirrhosis was found in an estimated 30% to 40% of cases. Nine percent of patients were not found to have chronic viral hepatitis. Twenty three point two percent of the patients had a normal AFP level. A total of 2199 patients were tested with AFP-L3 and PIVKA Ⅱ over two years, with 57.7% having elevated AFP-L3%, and 88.5% with elevated PIVKA Ⅱ levels. Over this 7-year period, the incidence of HCC increased, with a large proportion of cases(overall 40.8%) presenting initially an advanced stage, not amendable to surgical or locoregional *** HCC contributes significant health care burden in southern and central Vietnam, with increasing case volume over this seven-year period. Collagen provides tissue strength and structural *** fication of the orientated dispersion of collagen fibers is an important factor when studying the mechanical properties of the *** this study,for the first time,a new method for rapid characterization of the collagen fiber orientations of the cervix using linearly polarized light colposcopy is presented.A total of 24 colposcopic images were captured using a cross-polarized imaging system with white LED light *** the preprocessing stage,the Red channel of the RGB image was chosen,which contains no information of the blood vessels because of the low-absorption of blood cells in the red ***,which is an ImageJ plug-in,was used to estimate the local orientation of the collagen *** result shows that in the nonpregnant cervix,the middle zone(Zone 2)has circumferentially aligned collagen fibers while the inner zone(Zone 1)has randomly *** collagen fiber dispersion in Zone 2 is much smaller than that in Zone 1 at all four quadrants region(anterior,posterior,left,and right quadrant).This new analysis technique could potentially combine with diagnostic tools to provide a quantitative platform of collagen fibers in the clinic.

随着互联网的迅速发展与普及,大量的网络用语应运而出。近年来接地气的网络词语经常出现在中国政府部门文件以及领导人发言当中。为了与时俱进,作为新中国第一部规范性词典——《现代汉语词典》也收录了被广泛使用且稳定性强的网络新词语。这表明了汉语网络语言已经由小众的专利变成了大众共建、共用、共享的语言产品。汉语网络语言已经渐渐步入人们的日常生活中并成为汉语不可或缺的组成部分。随着中国在国际上的影响力不断扩大,汉语的地位也显著提高,“汉语热”席卷全球,学习汉语的人数不断增加。海外汉语学习者以年轻人居多,该群体对新事物的包容性和接受能力也更强,因此汉语网络语言是他们关注的新焦点,同时也对他们的第二语言学习(即汉语学习)带来巨大的影响。中国与越南是山水相连的友好邻邦。越南本地的汉语教学得到了政府部门的高度重视与大力支持,学习汉语的人数不断创新高,赴华留学的越南留学生也越来越多。越南学生是海外汉语学习者的重要组成部分。目前,网络语言本体研究已获得较为丰硕的成果,但是网络语言在国际中文教育中尚未受到足够的重视。那么,在网络语言实际教学中,教师该“教什么”、“怎么教”才能趋利避害?越南学生对汉语网络语言的认知与态度如何?本文主要采用文献研究法、问卷调查法和综合分析法等方法进行研究。笔者对高级阶段的越南学生进行问卷调查,通过分析调查结果了解越南学生对汉语网络语言的认知、使用情况及态度等问题。调查结果显示,高级阶段的越南学生对汉语网络语言的认知程度与使用频率较高,对汉语网络语言及网络语言教学大多持支持态度。此外,研究还表明,学习时间长短、在中国生活情况、使用汉语交流的频率以及使用中国社交软件的频率等四个因素都直接影响到学生对网络语言的认知程度。之后,笔者基于前人的研究成果,结合实际情况与调查问卷结果,从教师、学生以及学校等三个角度提出汉语网络语言教学与学习的建议。希望本论文能够帮助包括越南学生在内的外国学生加深对汉语网络语言的了解,从而正确运用汉语网络语言,也希望能够为这方面的研究提供新的视角和方向,起到抛砖引玉的作用,为以后的研究尽绵薄之力。

Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Vietnam： Current Status and Future Directions

In recent years, there have been an increasing number of hematologic patients in Vietnam. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation （HSCT） is fast becoming an effective method to cure many benign and malignant blood disorders. Nine transplant centers are operating throughout Vietnam. HCMC Blood Transfusion Hematology Hospital （BTH） is one of these centers where bone marrow, peripheral blood and cord blood stem cell transplantation were first conducted in our country. At BTH, half of the patients received allogeneic HSCT, mainly from matched sibling donors due to lack of a national bone marrow donor registry. While acute myeloid leukemia was a common indication of allogeneic HSCT, most of the patients undergoing autologous HSCT had multiple myeloma. One major issue we encountered concerned bacterial and fungal infections during neutropenia period. Because of an endemic area, CMV reactivation frequently occurred. Five-year overall survival （OS） and event-free survival （EFS） were 47% and 46%, respectively. To create more opportunities for patients, our future directions will focus on some new transplant procedures, such as haploidentical, unrelated and cord blood transplantation.

Households’Willingness-to-Pay for Wastewater Treatment in Traditional Agro-Food Processing Villages,Nhue-Day River Basin,Vietnam:Case Study in Hanoi City

Despite the number of studies focusing on the financial analysis of production activities, conducting on technical solutions, and improving water quality, no study has been conducted on the application of economic instruments that apply to water quality management in craft villages, and several studies of WTP also. This study aimed to estimate the households’ willingness-to-pay for wastewater treatment in selected traditional agro-food processing villages in Nhue-Day River Basin, Vietnam. A pilot Choice Experiment (CE) technique in Choice Modelling (CM) approach was applied for this study with 267 selected agro-food processing households by using the conditional logit (CL) and random parameter logit (RPL) models. The results showed that total annual environmental fee for wastewater treatment from agro-food processing households is estimated as 1089 million VND (equal to US$47,868 per year) for the total of 902 agro-food processing households in three research sites in Nhue-Day River Basin. This estimated budget for wastewater treatment accounted for 55.85% of total annual operation and maintenance costs only. In addition, the technology is improved to enable 90% of treated wastewater. Overall, the results of this study suggest the new wastewater treatment plant construction and improved wastewater collection system by increasing the investment in order to improve the water quality in Nhue-Day River Basin that brings about the reducing environmental degradation, biodiversity loss and human health risks.

Hydrodeoxygenation of Bio-Oil on Bimetallic Catalysts: From Model Compound to Real Feed

Two series of bimetallic Ni-Co catalysts and corresponding monometallic catalysts with ca. 20 wt% metal loading were evaluated in hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of phenol as a model compound for bio-oil. The bimetallic catalysts outperformed the corresponding monometallic catalyst in terms of conversion and cyclohexane selectivity. This could be attributed to the formation of Ni-Co alloy, which caused a decrease in metal particle size and stabilized Ni active sites in the near surface region. The balanced combination of formed Ni-Co alloy with acidity from supports allowed performing all individual steps in the reaction network toward desired products at high rate. Consequently, the two best-performing catalysts were tested in HDO of wood based bio-oil, showing that the bimetallic catalyst 10Ni10Co/HZSM-5 was more effective than 20Ni/HZSM-5 in terms of degree of deoxygenation and upgraded bio-oil yield. These findings might open an opportunity for development of a novel cheap but effective catalyst for a key step in the process chain from biomass to renewable liquid fuels.

Acetabular Defects of Hip Tuberculosis: Recommended Classification and Reconstruction in Hip Arthroplasty

Background: This study aimed to propose a classification of acetabular defects in advanced-stage hip tuberculosis based on preoperative radiographs and intraoperative evaluation, thereby providing options for reconstructing each type of defect in hip arthroplasty. Materials and Methods: We conducted a prospective study with 45 patients with active hip tuberculosis at stage IV who were treated with a total hip replacement strategy. We collected the patients’ acetabular defect data from preoperative radiographs and intraoperative observations. The defects were classified into types based on defect severity and reconstructive complexity. The hip replacement outcomes were evaluated at least 12 months after the operation. Results: The classification system includes three types: type I: localized or extensive defects inside the acetabulum, not affecting the acetabular rim, medial wall, or columns. Type II: extensive defects inside the acetabulum, affecting the acetabular rim or (and) medial wall. Type III: extensive defects inside the acetabulum, causing the medial wall and the acetabular column to lose function. Each type has a corresponding reconstruction. The outcome includes that 41/45 patients had excellent results;3/45 patients had good results. The patients had good results due to nerve and muscle damage caused by tuberculosis not related to the acetabular defects. Conclusion: This is a simple, practical classification system of acetabular defects in hip tuberculosis. The outcome of hip reconstruction using this classification was excellent without any cases of dislocation or protrusion.

Hip Tuberculosis at Stage IV: Outcomes and Some Conditions for Total Hip Replacement

Background: Treatment of hip disorders during active hip tuberculosis has long been a controversial issue. Some authors have reported performing hip replacement with different strategies with very good outcomes. This study aimed to describe the surgical outcomes and necessary conditions for total hip replacement in active hip tuberculosis. Methods: We conducted a quasi-experimental study. The study enrolled 40 patients with 42 active tuberculosis hips at stage IV treated by total hip replacement from October 2016 to December 2019 at the National Lung Hospital. We followed up with the patients for at least 12 months, evaluated surgical outcomes, and investigated the factors associated with these outcomes by logistic regression analysis. Results: Surgical outcomes showed that 37 patients (88.1%) had excellent hip function, no abscesses, and no sinus tract formation. Four cases (9.5%) had sinus tract formations. One case (2.4%) had good hip function. Binary logistic regression models revealed that sinus tract formation was associated with preoperative tuberculosis infection syndrome. The average time to obtain antituberculosis drug treatment preoperatively was 4.6 weeks. Conclusion: Total hip replacement for active hip tuberculosis is a practical and promising treatment method. Surgeons should consider improving patients’ conditions before performing total hip replacement, administering antitubercular drugs, and arthrotomy to eliminate all abscesses, and decrease the risk of tuberculosis infection syndrome and the inflammatory response.
