Degradation Characters of La-Mg-Ni-Based Metal Hydride Alloys:Corrosion and Pulverization Behaviors

Degradation behaviors of three typical La-Mg-Ni alloys, La2MgNi9, La1.5Mg0.5Ni7 and La4MgNi19, were studied. La1.5- Mg0.5Ni7 with （La,Mg）2Ni7 as main phase presents better discharge capacity and cycling stability. The three alloys suffer severe pulverization and corrosion after electrochemical cycles, which are considered to be the significant factor attributing to the capacity deterioration. However, the overall corrosion extent of the three cycled alloys aggravates successively, which is inconsistent with the result that LaEMgNi9 presented poor cycling stability and also the assumption that alloy with high Mg content is easy to be corroded. The intrinsic anti-corrosion and anti-pulverization characteristics of the three alloys are mainly focused in this work. Immersion corrosion experiments demonstrate that the Mg-rich phases are more easily to be corroded. The corrosion resistance of the three alloys presents an improved trend which is inversely proportional to abundance of the Mg-rich phases. However, the anti-pulverization abilities present an inverse trend, which is closely related to the mechanical property of various phase structures. LaNi5 with the highest hardness is easy to crack, but the soft （La,Mg）Ni2 is more resistant to crack formation and spreading. Thus, the weaker corrosion of La2MgNi9 after electro- chemical cycling is attributed to the better intrinsic anti-pulverization capability though the anti-corrosion is poor. As La4MgNi19 possesses excellent corrosion resistance, enhancement of the anti-pulverization ability is urgent for improvement in the cycling stability.

In this study,a novel multi-physics multi-scale model with the dilute multicomponent phase-field method in three-dimensional(3D)space was developed to investigate the complex microstructure evolu-tion in the molten pool during laser welding of Al-Li *** accurately compute mass data within both two and three-dimensional computational domains,three efficient computing methods,including central processing unit parallel computing,adaptive mesh refinement,and moving-frame algorithm,were *** was placed on the distinctive equiaxed-to-columnar-to-equiaxed transition phenomenon that occurs during the entire solidification process of Al-Li alloy laser *** results indi-cated that the growth distance of columnar grains that epitaxially grew from the base metal(BM)de-creased as the nucleation rate *** the nucleation rate increased,the morphology of the newly formed grains near the fusion boundary(FB)changed from columnar to equiaxed,and newly formed equiaxed grains changed from having high-order dendrites to no obvious dendrite *** the nucleation rate was sufficiently high,non-dendritic equiaxed grains could directly form near the FB,and there was nearly no epitaxial growth from the ***,simulation results illustrated the com-petition among multiple grains with varying orientations that grow in 3D space near the ***,how equiaxed grain bands develop was *** equiaxed band not only hindered the growth of early columnar grains but also some of its grains could grow epitaxially to form new columnar *** predicted results were in good agreement with experimental measurements and observations.

Inconel 625+WC composite coatings were prepared on the surface of 2Cr13 steel by laser *** microstructure,microhardness and corrosion resistance of the composite coatings with different WC contents were investigated in *** results show that the phase compositions of the composite coatings are mainly y-(Ni,Fe)and various *** content of WC has a significant effect on the microstructure of the cladding *** the WC content is 10 wt%and 15 wt%,the cladding layer has developed columnar ***,the 20 wt%WC coating is mainly composed of cellular dendrites and columnar *** the increase in WC content,the average hardness of the composite coating gradually *** average hardness of 20 wt%WC coating is the highest(HV_(1)536.98),which is a factor of2.64 greater than that of the 2 Cr13 steel *** results show that all the composite coatings have better corrosion resistance than 2 Cr13 steel in 0.5 mol·L^(-1) HCl *** composite coating with 10 wt%WC has the best corrosion resistance,its corrosion potential(E_(corr))is 0.78806 V higher than that of 2 Cr13 steel,and the corrosion current density(I_(corr))is only 0.86%that of 2 Cr13 steel.

The southern Ordos Basin has excellent petroleum exploration prospects. However, the tectono-thermal history and the controls on petroleum generation, accumulation and preservation conditions in southern basin are unclear. In this study, we analyzed the present geothermal field, paleo-geothermal gradient,maturity of the hydrocarbon source rocks, uplift and cooling process and tectono-thermal evolution history. In the study area, for the Ordovician, Permain and the Triassic strata, the present temperature is low（30 70°C） in the southeastern area but high（80 140°C） in the northwestern area. The paleogeothermal gradient varied from 24°C/km to 30°C/km with a heat flow of 58—69 m W/m2（i.e., a medium-temperature basin）. The paleo-temperatures are higher than the present temperatures and the maximum paleo-temperatures controlled the thermal maturity of the source rocks. The vitrinite reflectance（Ro） values of the Triassic strata are >0.7% and the thermal maturity reached the middlemature oil generation stage. The Rovalues of the Permian-Ordovician strata are >1.8% and the thermal maturity reached the over-mature gas generation stage. The southern Ordos Basin has experienced the multiple tectonic events at the Late Ordovician Caledonian（452 Ma）, Late Triassic（215 Ma）, Late Jurassic（165 160 Ma）, End-Early Cretaceous（110 100 Ma） and Cenozoic（since 40 Ma）. A large-scale tectonothermal event occurred at the End-Early Cretaceous（110 100 Ma）, which was controlled by lithospheric extension, destruction and thinning. This event led to the highest paleo-temperatures and thermal maturities and coeval with the peak period of petroleum generation and accumulation. The southern Ordos Basin has undergone rapid and large-scale uplift since the Late Cretaceous due to expansion of the northeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau, uplift of the Qinling orogenic belt and thrust faulting in the Liupanshan tectonic belt. The high efficiency of Ce addition in grain refinement ofδ-ferrite in a cast Fe–4 wt.%Si alloy was *** order to further understand the solute effect of Ce on the grain refinement of δ-ferrite,the conventional directional solidification technique,which enabled to freeze the solid–liquid interface to room temperature,was used to investigate the interfacial morphology and solute redistribution in the liquid at the front of the interface,together with thermodynamic calculation of the equilibrium partition coefficients of Ce and Si in Fe–4 wt.%Si–Ce system using the Equilib module and the FsStel database in FactSage software *** examination using a laser scanning confocal microscope showed a transition of the solid–liquid interface from planar to cellular in the Fe–4 wt.%Si alloy after adding 0.0260 wt.%Ce during the directional solidification ***,electron probe microanalysis revealed an enhanced segregation of Si solute in the liquid at the front of the solid–liquid interface due to the Ce *** solute segregation is considered as the cause of planar to cellular interface transition,which resulted from the creation of constitutional supercooling *** calculation indicated that Ce also segregated at the solid–liquid interface and the Ce addition had negligible effect on the equilibrium partition coefficient of *** is reasonable to consider that the contribution of Ce to the grain refinement ofδ-ferrite in the cast Fe–4 wt.%Si alloy as a solute was marginal.

Elemene, derived from Curcuma wenyujin, one of the "8 famous genuine medicinal materials of Zhejiang province," exhibits remarkable antitumor activity. It has gained wide recognition in clinical practice for effectiveness on tumors. Dr. XIE Tian introduced the innovative concept of "molecular compatibility theory" by combining Chinese medicine principles, specifically the "monarch, minister, assistant, and envoy" theory, with modern biomedical technology. This groundbreaking approach, along with a systematic analysis of Chinese medicine and modern biomedical knowledge, led to the development of elemene nanoliposome formulations. These novel formulations offer numerous advantages, including low toxicity, well-defined composition, synergistic effects on multiple targets, and excellent biocompatibility. Following the principles of the "molecular compatibility theory", further exploration of cancer treatment strategies and methods based on elemene was undertaken. This comprehensive review consolidates the current understanding of elemene's potential antitumor mechanisms, recent clinical investigations, advancements in drug delivery systems, and structural modifications. The ultimate goal of this review is to establish a solid theoretical foundation for researchers, empowering them to develop more effective antitumor drugs based on the principles of "molecular compatibility theory".

Tumor cell clusters are regarded as critical factors in cancer pathophysiology,and increasing evidence of their higher treatment resistance and metastasis compared to single tumor cells has been ***,existing cell separation methods that are designed for single tumor cells cannot be used to simultaneously purify tumor cell *** address this problem,we demonstrated a microfluidic approach for the high-throughput,continuous-flow ternary separation of single tumor cells,tumor cell clusters,and WBCs from clinical pleural or abdominal effusions by coupling slanted spiral channels and periodic contraction-expansion *** first systematically explored the influence of particle size and flow rate on particle *** separation performance indicated that 94.0%of WBCs were removed and more than 97%of MDA-MB-231 tumor cells were recovered at a high flow rate of 3500µL/***,more than 90%of tumor cell clusters were effectively preserved after ***,we successfully applied our device for the ternary separation of single tumor cells,tumor cell clusters,and WBCs from different malignant effusions collected from patients with metastatic ***,our spiral-contraction-expansion device has potential as a sample pretreatment tool for the cytological diagnosis of malignant effusions.
