Structural and mech.nistic understanding of an active and durable graph.ne carbocatalyst for reduction of 4-nitroph.nol at room temperature

Th. development of an active, durable, and metal-free carbocatalyst th.t is able to replace metal-based catalysts is of increasing scientific and tech.ological importance. Th. use of such.a catalyst would avoid problems caused by metal- containing catalysts, for example, environmental pollution by h.avy metals and depletion of rare metal resources. h.rein, an active and durable graph.ne carbocatalyst is presented for th. carbocatalytic conversion of 4-nitroph.nol to 4-aminoph.nol at ambient temperature. Th. carbocatalyst was prepared via a mild, water-based reaction between L-ascorbic acid （AA） and graph.ne oxi.e （GO） and did not involve any oth.r reactants. During th. structure and catalytic property optimization, a series of carbocatalysts were fabricated at various reaction temperatures and AA/GO ratios. Using several ch.racterization tech.iques, detailed structural features of th.se carbocatalysts were identified. Possible active species and sites on th. carbocatalysts were also identified such.as certain oxygen-containing groups, th. ~x-conjugated system, and graph.ne sh.et edges. In addition, th. synergistic effect between th.se active species and sites on th. resulting catalytic activity is h.gh.igh.ed. Furth.rmore, we clarified th. origin of th. h.gh.stability and durability of th. optimized carbocatalyst. Th. work presented h.re aids th. design of h.gh.performance carbocatalysts for h.drogenation reactions, and increases understanding of th. structural and mech.nistic aspects at th. molecular level th.t lead to h.gh.catalyst activity and durability.

Multifunctional organically modified graph.ne with.super-h.droph.bicity

In order to bring graph.ne materials much.closer to real world applications, it is imperative to h.ve simple, efficient and eco-friendly ways to produce processable graph.ne derivatives. In th.s study, a h.droph.lic low-temperature th.rmally functionalized graph.ne and its super-h.droph.bic organically modified graph.ne derivative were fabricated. A unique structural topology was found and some of th. oxygen functionalities were retained on th. th.rmally functionalized graph.ne surfaces, wh.ch.facilitated th. subsequent h.gh.y effective organic modification reaction and led to th. super-h.droph.bic organically modified graph.ne with.multi functional applications in liquid marbles and polymer nanocomposites. Th. organic modification reaction also restored th. graph.nic conjugated structure of th. th.rmally functionalized graph.ne, particularly for organic modifiers h.ving longer alkyl ch.ins, as confirmed by various ch.racteri- zation tech.iques such.as electrical conductivity measurements, ultraviolet/visible spectroscopy and selected area electron diffraction. Th. free-standing soft liquid marble was fabricated by wrapping a water droplet with.th. super-h.droph.bic organically modified graph.ne, and sh.wed potential for use as a microreactor. As for th. polymer nanocomposites, a strong interfacial adh.sion is believed to exi.t between an organic polymer matrix and th. modified graph.ne because of th. organoph.lic coating formed on th. graph.ne base, wh.ch.resulted in large improvements in th. th.rmal and mech.nical properties of th. polymer nanocomposites with.th. modified graph.ne, even at very low loading levels. A new avenue h.s th.refore been opened up for large-scale production of processable graph.ne derivatives with.various practicable applications.

Th. Circular Electron Positron Collider(CEPC)is a large scientific project initiated and h.sted by Ch.na,fostered th.ough.extensive collaboration with.international *** complex comprises four accelerators:a 30 GeV Linac,a 1.1 GeV Damping Ring,a Booster capable of ach.eving energies up to 180 GeV,and a Collider operating at varying energy modes(Z,W,h.and tt).Th. Linac and Damping Ring are situated on th. surface,wh.le th. subterranean Booster and Collider are h.used in a 100 km circumference underground tunnel,strategically accommodating future expansion with.provisions for a potential Super Proton Proton Collider(SPPC).Th. CEPC primarily serves as a h.ggs *** its baseline design with.synch.otron radiation(SR)power of 30 MW per beam,it can ach.eve a luminosity of 5×10^(34)cm^(-2)s^(-1)per interaction point(IP),resulting in an integrated luminosity of 13 ab^(-1)for two IPs over a decade,producing 2.6 million h.ggs *** th. SR power to 50 MW per beam expands th. CEPC's capability to generate 4.3 million h.ggs bosons,facilitating precise measurements of h.ggs coupling at sub-percent levels,exceeding th. precision expected from th. h.-Lh. by an order of *** Tech.ical Design Report(TDR)follows th. Preliminary Conceptual Design Report(Pre-CDR,2015)and th. To address th. increasing need for detecting and validating protein biomarkers in clinical specimens,mass spectrometry(MS)-based targeted proteomic tech.iques,including th. selected reaction monitoring(SRM),parallel reaction monitoring(PRM),and massively parallel dataindependent acquisition(DIA),h.ve been *** optimal performance,th.y require th. fragment ion spectra of targeted peptides as prior *** th.s report,we describe a MS pipeline and spectral resource to support targeted proteomics studies for human tissue *** build th. spectral resource,we integrated common open-source MS computational tools to assemble a freely accessible computational workflow based on *** th.n applied th. workflow to generate DPh.,a compreh.nsive DIA pan-human library,from 1096 data-dependent acquisition(DDA)MS raw files for 16 types of cancer *** extensive spectral resource was th.n applied to a proteomic study of 17 prostate cancer(PCa)***,PRM validation was applied to a larger study of 57 PCa patients and th. differential expression of th.ee proteins in prostate tumor was *** a second application,th. DPh. spectral resource was applied to a study consisting of plasma samples from 19 diffuse large B cell lymph.ma(DLBCL)patients and 18 h.alth. control *** expressed proteins between DLBCL patients and h.alth. control subjects were detected by DIA-MS and confirmed by *** data demonstrate th.t th.
