Exploring plant adaptation strategies to phosphorus limitation induced by nitrogen addition:foliar phosphorus allocation and root functional traits analysis in two dominant subalpine tree species

Plants adapt to the limitation of soil phosphorus(P)induced by nitrogen(N)deposition through a complex interaction of various root and leaf functional *** this study,a pot experiment was conducted to explore the effects of different levels of N addition(control,low N[LN]:25 kg N ha^(-1) yr^(-1),high N[HN]:50 kg N ha^(-1) yr^(-1))on tree growth,leaf nutrient content,foliar P fractions and root characteristics of two dominant tree species,the pioneer species Salix rehderiana Schneid and the climax species Abies fabri(Mast.)Craib,in a subalpine forest in southwestern *** results demonstrated that LN addition had a minimal impact on leaf N and P ***,HN addition significantly decreased the leaf P content in both *** rehderiana exhibited more pronounced increases in specific root length and specific root area under P deficiency triggered by HN addition when compared with *** contrast,*** showed weaker morphological responses to N addition but had a higher proportion of foliar P to metabolic P,as well as higher root exudates rate and root phosphatase activity in response to HN *** fabri employs a synergistic approach by allocating a greater amount of leaf P to metabolite P and extracting P from the soil through P-mobilizing exudates and root phosphatase activity,while *** exhibits higher flexibility in modifying its root morphology in response to P limitation induced by HN *** study provides insights into subalpine tree species adaptation to N-induced P limitation,emphasizing its significance for guiding forest management and conservation in the context of global climate change.

Dietary sanguinarine supplementation recovers the decrease in muscle quality and nutrient composition induced by high-fat diets of grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella)

The intake of high-fat diets(HFD) has been shown to diminish the muscle quality of aquatic ***, as an excellent additive, exhibits the capability to reduce fat deposition and alleviate inflammation. However, its role in the muscle quality reduction caused by HFD remains unclear. An eight-week trial was conducted to investigate the impacts of dietary supplementation of sanguinarine at1200 μg/kg(HFDS; crude fat = 10%) on the muscle quality of grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idellus) in comparison to a basic diet(CON, crude fat = 5%). Each group had 3 replicates, with 40 fish per *** experiment employed one-way ANOVA and Duncan's multiple comparisons of the means. The results showed that the HFD exhibited lower growth performance, reduced protein deposition, myofiber diameter, and muscle hardness, coupled with higher levels of fat deposition and inflammation when compared with the CON. However, HFDS improved growth performance(P < 0.05), fat metabolism(ppara( P = 0.001), lpl(P < 0.001), atgl(P < 0.001), and cpt1(P = 0.001) expression exhibited a significant elevation), protein deposition(the protein and m RNA levels of AKT(P = 0.004), PI3K(P = 0.027),TOR(P = 0.005), and P70S6K(P = 0.007) demonstrated a marked increase), myofiber diameter, muscle hardness, and the total content of eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid. Furthermore, the HFDS reduced oxidative damage caused by fat deposition by significantly downregulating nf-κb(P <0.001), il-1β(P < 0.001), il-6(P < 0.001), il-8(P = 0.003), and tnf-a(P < 0.001) expression and markedly upregulated nrf2(P < 0.001), gpx4(P < 0.001), cat(P < 0.001), sod(P < 0.001), and gr(P = 0.003)expression. The findings from this study suggest that sanguinarine has the potential to alleviate the adverse effects of HFD on growth and muscle quality, providing a theoretical foundation for its practical implementation.

A Pricing Model of Airbag Options with Discrete Monitoring

In this paper, we propose a pricing model of airbag options with discrete monitoring, time-varying barriers, early exercise opportunities, and other popular features simultaneously. We show that the option value is a viscosity solution of a PDE system. In particular, a closed-form solution is obtained in the classic BlackScholes economy with no early exercise opportunities. For the general case, we develop a numerical algorithm and conduct an extensive numerical analysis after calibrating the model to the CSI 500 index in China. Greek letters, dynamic hedging, and assessment of investing in airbag options are also studied.

Perovskite oxides with diverse composition and structure have exhibited grand advances in boosting the oxygen reduction and evolution reaction(ORR/OER),which are essential for the reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cell(R-PCEC)toward the sustainable hydrogen production and ***,enhancement of their activity and stability remains ***,we develop the Ta-regulated BaCo_(0.7)Fe_(0.3)O_(3-δ)perovskite oxygen electrode(Ba(Co_(0.7)Fe_(0.3))_(1-x)Ta_xO_(3-δ))with abundant oxygen defects and achieve the simultaneous enhancement in the electrocatalytic activity and stability toward ORR and ***-fabricated R-PCEC with(Ba(Co_(0.7)Fe_(0.3))_(0.9)Ta_(0.1)O_(3-δ))(BCFT10)oxygen electrode performs high power density of 1.47 W·cm^(-2)at 650℃in fuel cell mode,and the current density is up to-2.11 A·cm^(-2)at 1.4 V at 650℃in electrolysis mode,as well as the good stability in both the fuel cell and electrolysis ***,the cell also demonstrates a stable cycling operation between fuel cell and electrolysis mode,suggesting a great potential of BCFT10 as oxygen electrode material for R-PCECs.

Angiosperm-wide analysis of fruit and ovary evolution aided by a new nuclear phylogeny supports association of the same ovary type with both dry and fleshy fruits

Fruit functions in seed protection and dispersal and belongs to many dry and fleshy types,yet their evolutionary pattern remains unclear in part due to uncertainties in the phylogenetic relationships among several orders and *** we used nuclear genes of 502 angiosperm species representing 231 families to reconstruct a well supported phylogeny,with resolved relationships for orders and families with previously uncertain *** this phylogeny as a framework,molecular dating supports a Triassic origin of the crown angiosperms,followed by the emergence of most orders in the Jurassic and Cretaceous and their rise to ecological dominance during the Cretaceous Terrestrial *** robust phylogeny allowed an examination of the evolutionary pattern of fruit and ovary types,revealing a trend of parallel carpel fusions during early diversifications in eudicots,monocots,and ***,taxa in the same order or family with the same ovary type can develop either dry or fleshy fruits with strong correlations between specific types of dry and fleshy fruits;such associations of ovary,dry and fleshy fruits define several ovaryfruit"modules"each found in multiple *** of the frequent modules has an ovary containing multiple ovules,capsules and berries,and another with an ovary having one or two ovules,achenes(or other single-seeded dry fruits)and *** new perspective of relationships among fruit types highlights the closeness of specific dry and fleshy fruit types,such as capsule and berry,that develop from the same ovary type and belong to the same module relative to dry and fleshy fruits of other modules(such as achenes and drupes).Further analyses of gene families containing known genes for ovary and fruit development identified phylogenetic nodes with multiple gene duplications,supporting a possible role of whole-genome duplications,in combination with climate changes and animal behaviors,in angiosperm fruit and ovary diversificat

Background:Acute pancreatitis(AP),known for its rapid onset and significant incidence and mortality rates,presents a clinical challenge due to the limited availability of effective treatments and preventive *** B(ASB)has emerged as a potential therapeutic agent,demonstrating capabilities in reducing immune inflammation,positioning it as a promising candidate for AP ***:We investigated the effects of ASB on AP in mice,induced by caerulein and lipopolysaccharide(LPS).Peripheral blood samples were collected 24 h post-induction with caerulein to assess of key biomarkers including lipase,amylase,TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,SOD,and GSH-Px.A range of techniques such as immunohistochemistry staining,immunofluorescence staining,Western blotting,and quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction(q-PCR),were employed to measure the expression of critical ***,pancreas samples from the mice were harvested for microbiome and metabolome sequencing,with the data analyzed to understand the impact of ASB on ***:Our study revealed that,compared to the sham group,the AP group exhibited significantly higher serum levels of lipase,amylase,and cytokines,while levels of SOD and GSH Px were notably *** with ASB led to a substantial decrease in the levels of lipase,amylase,and cytokines,and an increase in SOD and GSH-Px levels.q-PCR analysis of pancreatic histiocytes corroborated these serum *** and Eosin(H&E)staining indicated significant alterations in the pathological changes in the pancreas,lungs,and small intestine of the AP model due to *** assays demonstrated that ASB alleviated the apoptosis of pancreatic histiocytes in the AP *** Blot and histological analyses showed that ASB reduced the phosphorylation of TAK,p38,JNK,and ERK proteins,as well as the levels of TRAF6 protein in the AP ***,metabolomic and gut microbiota analysis identified 27 differential metabolites and 34 diffe

精细内容反馈促进深层次的学习,如迁移。但在师生互动中反馈的呈现方式如何影响长时学习迁移及其人际神经基础尚不清楚。本研究采用面对面的师生问答反馈任务,通过两个双人实验(行为学、近红外超扫描),探究反馈的组块化呈现对学习迁移的长时促进作用、认知过程及其人际神经基础。结果发现,组块化反馈促进低知识基础学生的长时迁移。组块化错误修正在反馈呈现方式和长时迁移之间起中介作用。提供与接收组块化反馈过程中,师、生在额、顶叶出现更大的脑间同步,且额叶的脑间同步预测长时迁移与组块化错误修正。上述结果从人际视角为课堂中真实发生的教学反馈的认知神经基础提供新的理解,也为提高教学反馈效果和效率提供一些实践启示。
