Microporous supports typically fail to fully expose active sites for electrolytes and CO_(2) molecules,and this usually results in low current density for the electrocatalytic CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR).To overcome the biggest obstacle and facilitate commercial applications,defective single-atomic Ni-N_(3) sites anchored to ordered micro-macroporous N-doped carbon(Ni-N/OMC)have been prepared by the pyrolysis of the Ni-ZIF-8@PS(ZIF=zeolitic imidazolate framework)and are intended to provide enhanced CO_(2)RR with a current density at an industrial *** Ni-ZIF-8@PS is constructed of nickel-based ZIF-8 embedded in the three-dimensional(3D)highly ordered polystyrene spheres(PS).The 3D ordered micro-macroporous architecture of Ni-N/OMC could facilitate the mass transfer of substrates to the accessible defective single-atomic Ni-N_(3) sites through micropores(0.6 nm)and macropores(~200 nm)interconnected by 50 nm *** a flow cell,Ni-N/OMC exhibits almost 100.0%CO Faraday efficiency(FECO)between−0.2 and−1.1 V *** and an industrial level CO partial current density of 208 mA cm^(−2).It has a turnover frequency of 1.5×10^(5) h^(−1) at−1.1 V *** in 1 M KOH electrolyte,which exceeds that of most reported nickel-based *** excellent CO_(2)RR performance for Ni-N/OMC makes it a state-of-the-art electrocatalyst for CO_(2)*** calculations show that the defective Ni-N_(3) site can lower the energy of*COOH formation compared with that of the Ni-N4 site,thereby accelerating CO_(2)***-N/OMC can also be utilized as a cathodic catalyst in Zn-CO_(2) battery,exhibiting high CO selectivity in the discharge process and excellent *** work paves a pathway to rational design of highly efficient electrocatalysts with 3D hierarchically ordered micro-macroporous architecture for CO_(2)RR towards industrial production and commercial applications.

Self-assembly of nanocrystals can not only lead to a better understanding of inter-particle acting force, but also enable rational building of complex and functional materials for future nanodevices. Here by utilizing polyvinylpyrrolidone （PVP） as the as capping and structure directing agents, hierarchical Mn304 architectures involving coil-like nanorings, hexagonal nanoframes, and nanodisks are conveniently synthesized by a one-pot solution method. The sophisticated assemblies are proven to be me- diated by the PVP soft templates formed at varied concentrations. The driving forces of self-assembled complex nanostructures and the unique role of PVP concentration are discussed. Magnetic properties of the as assembled Mn3O4 rings are also studied by a SQUID system, which shows the typical side effect of Curie temperature.

Along with the unceasing growth of worldwide economic and the associated issues on resources,energy and environment,clean energy generating technologies that are based on recyclable materials,if possible,may become the future trend of ***,we report the design of a cheap,lightweight,and recyclable single-electrode triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)that utilizes waste paper as the triboelectric *** the current strategy,we successfully developed green energy machines without vastly increasing the mining of various critical minerals around the *** as-designed TENG could not only collect and convert mechanical energy into electricity with sound efficiency,but also has the merit for continuous reuse and quick *** maximum output power density is as high as 171 mW·m^(-2) at a resistance of 130 MQ and could be integrated into a book for monitoring reading actions,thus providing a new approach to the low-cost,green and sustainable self-powered electronic systems.

With coal gas as a reducing agent, the catalytic reduction of SO2 to sulfur in the flue gas produced in metallurgical processes was studied over catalysts of rare earth-Fe/Al2O3 (REFe/Al2O3). The catalytic activity of the REFe/Al2O3 catalyst on the reduction of SO2 to sul-fur was investigated based on kinds and the contents of rare earths and different preparation method of the catalyst. Additionally, the mecha-nism of this catalytic reduction reaction was also explored. Results showed that different rare earth imposed different effect on the activity of the Fe/Al2O3 catalyst. Especially, the addition of Sm and Dy greatly improved the catalytic activity of Fe/Al2O3. The yield of sulfur over SmFe/Al2O3was increased to 86.62% at 360 ℃, which was 40.5% higher than that over Fe/Al2O3at the same temperature; and the sulfur yield over DyFe/Al2O3was increased to 91.62% at 400 ℃, 26.4% higher than that over Fe/Al2O3. The catalytic activity of REFe/Al2O3 was somehow dependent on the content of rare earth. For SmFe/Al2O3, the content of Sm was optimized to be about 1.0 wt.%. The rare earth catalyst prepared with different methods also showed varied activity. The sulfur yield over rare-earth transition metal catalysts follows the order: Sm and iron solution mixing impregnationSm first, then iron solution impregnationiron first, then Sm solution impregnation. The reaction mechanism of SO2 reduction to sulfur with coal gas was proposed to be an intermediate mechanism.

Submarine volcanism is widely developed in the South China Sea(SCS).However,the characteristics,distribution,and genesis of submarine volcanoes in the southern margin of the SCS remain *** this study,we analyzed the characteristics of submarine volcanoes and identified a total of 43 submarine volcanoes in the southern margin of the SCS,based on a newly acquired 310-km seismic reflection profile,along with previous 45 multi-channel seismic(MCS)profiles,petrological results from volcanic rocks sampled by dredging and drilling,nearby ocean bottom seismometer(OBS)wide-angle seismic profiles,and gravity and magnetic *** study ascertains that most of these volcanoes are located in fault-block belts and graben-horst zones with strong crustal stretching and *** volcanoes exhibit positive high-amplitude external seismic reflections,weak and chaotic internal seismic reflections,and are accompanied by local deformation of the surrounding sedimentary ***,they have higher positive gravity anomalies and higher magnetic anomalies than the background *** petrological dating results show that volcanic ages are primarily in the Pliocene-Pleistocene,with geochemical characteristics indicating dominance of oceanic island basalt(OIB)-type *** faults have obviously spatial correspondence with post-spreading volcanism,suggesting these faults may provide conduits for submarine *** high-velocity bodies(HVBs)in the lower crust and magma underplating exist in the southern SCS,which could provide a clue of genesis for submarine *** inference is that the intensity of post-spreading volcanism in the southern margin might be affected by stretching faults,crustal thinning and magma underplating.

BACKGROUND Characteristics of alterations of serum hepatitis B virus(HBV) RNA in different chronic hepatitis B(CHB) patients still cannot be fully explained. Whether HBV RNA can predict HBeAg seroconversion is still *** To investigate whether HBV RNA can predict virological response or HBeAg seroconversion during entecavir(ETV) treatment when HBV DNA is *** The present study evaluated 61 individuals who were diagnosed and treated with long-term ETV monotherapy at the Department of Infectious Diseases of Peking University First Hospital(China) from September 2006 to December ***, 30 treatment-naive individuals were included. Serum HBV RNA were extracted from 140 μL serum samples at two time points. Then they were reverse transcribed to cDNA with the HBV-specific primer. The product was quantified by real-time quantitative PCR(RT-PCR) using TAMARA probes. Statistical analyses were performed with IBM SPSS *** Level of serum HBV RNA at baseline was 4.15 ± 0.90 log10 copies/mL. HBV RNA levels showed no significant difference between the virological response(VR)and partial VR(PVR) groups at baseline(P = 0.940). Serum HBV RNA significantly decreased among patients who achieved a VR during ETV therapy(P < 0.001). The levels of HBV RNA in both HBeAg-positive patients with seroconversion group and those with no seroconversion increased after 24 wk of treatment. Overall, HBV RNA significantly but mildly correlated to HBsAg(r =0.265, P = 0.041), and HBV RNA was not correlated to HBV DNA(r = 0.242, P =0.062). Furthermore, serum HBV RNA was an independent indicator for predicting HBeAg seroconversion and virological response. HBeAg seroconversion was more likely in CHB patients with HBV RNA levels below4.12 log10 copies/mL before *** The level of serum HBV RNA could predict HBeAg seroconversion and PVR during treatment. In the PVR group, the level of serum HBV RNA tends to be increasing.
