A facile chemical method for the development of photocatalytic coating products was proposed based on practical application perspective for the hong Kong roadside nitrogen oxides(NO_(x))***_(2)-based photocatalytic coating pc-C film with crystallized size of around 5–6 nm was synthesized with the peptization of H_(2)O_(2).The pc-C coating possesses a super-hydrophilicity surface and is proven to have a NO_(x)degradation rate of 46.8%with an optimum pH level of *** addition,the pc-C coating presents a promising photocatalytic NO_(x)degradation compared with other commercially available coating products and P25 when applied on two building materials of poly-methyl methacrylate(PMMA)and concrete surface.A weather resistance simulation and a 180-day on-site field trial were carried out the attenuation effects of photocatalytic coating applied in outdoor *** on epidemiological estimation and field investigation,hospital admissions for respiratory diseases(HARD)and mortality cases(MC)could be reduced with the application of pc-C coating along the street *** work demonstrates the feasibility of air pollution control measures for the local roadside NO_(x)using photocatalytic technology,offering promising health benefits with environmental remediation.

Objective： To investigate whether the dried root of Phellodendron amurense Ruprecht（Phellodendri cortex; pc） extract improves arthritic symptoms through anti-inflammatory and immune-modulatory effects in collagen-induced arthritis in mice. Methods： Rheumatoid arthritis（RA） was induced in male DBA/1 mice by immunization with type Ⅱ collagen（ColⅡ）. CIA mice were divided into 5 groups（n=10 per a group） with normal, CIA control, pc extract（50 mg/kg and 100 mg/kg）-treated, and meloxicam（50 mg/kg）-treated as the reference drug. The pc extract or meloxicam were administered orally in CIA mice once a day for 14 days after arthritis induction. Arthritic score, levels of anti-ColⅡ IgG2a antibody, prostaglandin E2（PGE2）, tumor necrosis factor（TNF）-α, and interleukin（IL）-17 in the sera of CIA mice were measured. Histopathological changes in the ankle joints of CIA mice were also analyzed by staining with hematoxylin and eosin（H and E）, safranin-O and immunohistochemistry using anti-TNF-α and anti-IL-17 antibodies. Results： The arthritic score was increased in CIA mice in a time-dependent manner, as were the serum levels of anti-ColⅡ IgG2a antibody, PGE2, TNF-α, and IL-17. however, the oral administration of pc extract at 50 and 100 mg/kg in CIA mice significantly decreased the arthritic scores, and the serum levels of anti-ColⅡ IgG2a, PGE2, TNF-α, and IL-17 compared with those in the CIA group（P〈0.05 or P〈0.01）. Furthermore, histopathological improvement of the joint architecture in CIA mice was observed after administration of pc extract. pc extract also significantly inhibited the expression of TNF-α and IL-17 in the joints of CIA mice by suppressing the expression of their m RNA and proteins. Conclusion： pc extract may improve the pathological progression of RA through the inhibition of joint destruction by synovial inflammation and immune-stimulation, therefore, it would be a potential anti-arthritic agent in RA.

We report two air-stable nickel(II) half-sandwich complexes,Cp*Ni(1,2-Cy_(2)pc_(6)H_(4)O)(1) and Cp*Ni(1,2-Ph_(2)pc_(6)H4NH)(2),for cooperative B-H bond activation and their applications in catalytic hydroboration of unsaturated organic *** 1 and 2 react with HBpin by adding the B-H bond across the Ni-X bond (X=O or N),giving rise to the 18-electron Ni(II)-H active species,[H1(Bpin)]and[H_(2)(Bpin)].Subtle tuning of the Ni-X pair and the supporting ancillary phosphine have a significant effect on the reactivity and catalytic performance of Cp*Ni(1,2-R_(2)pc_(6)H_(4)X).Unlike[H_(2)(Bpin)],the activation of HBpin in[H1(Bpin)]is reversible,which enables the Ni-O complex to be an effective cooperative catalyst in the hydroboration of N-heteroarenes,and as well as ketones and imines.

This study was conducted to evaluate the supplementation of glutamic acid(Glu)to reduced protein diets on the performance of weanling *** hundred and eighty crossbred weanling pigs([YorkshireLandrace]Duroc,21 d old)having similar body weight(BW)of 6.45 kg were randomly allotted to 1 of 6 dietary treatments(5 pigs per pen[2 barrows and 3 gilts];6 pens per treatment)based on BW and sex during a 6-week *** treatments consisted of positive control(pc)diet formulated to have 226.9,205.6,and 188.8 g crude protein(CP)during phases 1,2,and 3,respectively,and negative control(NC)diets with 20 g CP reduction from pc diets and addition of Glu with increasing levels,resulting in the calculated Lys-to-Glu ratios of 1:2.25,1:2.30.1:2.35,1:2.40,and 1:2.45,designated as NC,NC1,NC2,NC3,and NC4,*** BW of pigs receiving pc diet was higher(Phose receiving NC diet at d 7,21 and 42.A higher(Ppc than NC *** fed NC diets including the graded level of Glu linearly increased(P<0.05)BW at d 42,ADG and gain-to-feed ratio(G:F)during the overall experimental *** addition,trends in linear increase in BW(P=0.056)at d 7 and ADG from d 1 to 7 and d 22 to 42(linear effect,P=0.081,P=0.058 respectively)were observed.A tendency in the linear increment of NH3(P=0.082)at d 21 and linear reduction in methyl mercaptans(P=0.054)emission at d 42 was observed in pigs fed NC diets supplemented with graded level of *** conclusion,supplementing the reduced protein diet with Glu enhanced the growth performance in weanling pigs suggesting that supplementation of Glu can compensate the reduction of 2%CP in the basal diets.

Background:Bronchial hyperresponsiveness (BHR) is a fundamental pathophysiological characteristic of *** several factors such as airway caliber can affect BHR,no study has established age-dependent cutoff values of BHR to methacholine for the diagnosis of asthma in *** investigated the cutoff values of the methacholine challenge test (MCT) in the diagnosis of asthma according to ***:A total of 2383 individuals aged from 6 to 15 years old were included in this *** using the five-breath technique were performed in 350 children with suspected asthma based on symptoms by pediatric allergists and in 2033 healthy children from a general population-based *** determined the provocative concentration of methacholine producing a 20% decrease in forced expiratory volume in 1 second from baseline (pc20).A modified Korean version of the International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood questionnaire was used to distinguish asthmatics and healthy *** characteristic curve analysis was used to assess the cutoff value of pc20 for the diagnosis of ***:Cutoff values of methacholine pc20,which provided the best combination of diagnostic sensitivity and specificity,showed an increasing pattern with age:5.8,9.1,11.8,12.6,14.9,21.7,23.3,21.1,21.1,and 24.6 mg/mL at ages 6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,and 15 years,***:The application of different cutoff values of methacholine pc20 depending on age might be a practical modification for the diagnosis of asthma in children and adolescents with asthmatic symptoms.

Glycogen storage disease type Ia(GSD-Ia)is an autosomal recessive metabolic disorder caused by a deficiency in glucose-6-phosphatase-α(G6Pase-αor G6pc)that is expressed primarily in the liver,kidney,and intestine.G6Pase-αcatalyzes the hydrolysis of glucose-6-phosphate(G6P)to glucose and phosphate in the terminal step of gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis,and is a key enzyme for endogenous glucose *** active site of G6Pase-αis inside the endoplasmic reticulum(ER)*** catalysis,the substrate G6P must be translocated from the cytoplasm into the ER lumen by a G6P transporter(G6PT).The functional coupling of G6Pase-αand G6PT maintains interprandial glucose *** therapies for GSD-Ia are available,but cannot prevent the long-term complication of hepatocellular adenoma that may undergo malignant transformation to hepatocellular *** models of GSD-Ia are now available and are being exploited to both delineate the disease more precisely and develop new treatment approaches,including gene therapy.

Design and implementation of a personal computer (pc) based measurement circuits & system that containing signals’ sensing and generation are demonstrated in this study. The instrument can be easily operated via a user-friendly interface consisted of some functional keys displayed on the pc screen. Compact design of the hardware for the two units (signals’ sensing and generation) is made in a plug-in style of pc input/output (I/O) card so that no extra space for the instrument is needed. Design concepts for the hardware and software of the instrument are described. Functional performances of the setup of signals’ sensing and generation are tested. The results show user-friendly function and well-behaved performance for the package design.
