Mutations in the human mitochondrial genome have been observed in all types of human cancer,indicating that mutations might contribute to tumorigenesis,metastasis,recurrence,or drug *** possibility is appealing because of the known shift from oxidative metabolism to glycolysis,known as the Warburg effect,that occurs in *** DNA(mtDNA)mutations could either bematernally inherited and predispose to cancer(germ line mutations)or occur sporadically in the mtDNA of specific tissues(rissue-or tumor-specific somatic mutations)and contribute to the tumor initiation and progression ***-throughput sequencing technologies now enable comprehensive detection of mtDNA variation in tissues and bodily fluids,with the potential to be used as an early detectiontool that may impact the treatment of ***,we discuss insights into the roles of mtDNA mutations in carcinogenesis,highlighting the complexities involved in the analysis and interpretation of mitochondrial genomic *** challenges in studying their contribution to pathogenesis,and the value of mtDNA mutations in developing early detection,diagnosis,prognosis,and therapeuticstrategics for cancer.

Design constraints verification is the most computationally expensive task in evolutionary structural optimization due to a large number of structural analyses thatmust be *** a surrogatemodel to approximate the behavior of structures instead of the exact structural analyses is a possible solution to tackle this ***,most existing surrogate models have been designed based on regression *** paper proposes a novel method,called CaDE,which adopts a machine learning classification technique for enhancing the performance of the Differential Evolution(DE)*** proposed method is separated into two *** the first optimization stage,the original DE is implemented as usual,but all individuals produced in this phase are stored as inputs of the training *** on design constraints verification,these individuals are labeled as“safe”or“unsafe”and their labels are saved as outputs of the training *** collecting enough data,an AdaBoost model is trained to evaluate the safety state of *** model is then used in the second stage to preliminarily assess new individuals,and unpromising ones are rejected without checking design *** method reduces unnecessary structural analyses,thereby shortens the optimization *** benchmark truss sizing optimization problems are solved using the proposed method to demonstrate its *** obtained results show that the CaDE finds good optimal designs with less structural analyses in comparison with the original DE and four other DE *** reduction rate of five examples ranges from 18 to over 50%.Moreover,the proposed method is applied to a real-size transmission tower design problem to exhibit its applicability in practice.

this study was aimed to prepare landslide susceptibility maps for the pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand,India,using advanced ensemble models that combined Radial Basis Function Networks(RBFN)with three ensemble learning techniques:DAGGING(DG),MULtIBOOSt(MB),and ADABOOSt(AB).this combination resulted in three distinct ensemble models:DG-RBFN,MB-RBFN,and ***,a traditional weighted method,Information Value(IV),and a benchmark machine learning(ML)model,Multilayer perceptron Neural Network(MLp),were employed for comparison and *** models were developed using ten landslide conditioning factors,which included slope,aspect,elevation,curvature,land cover,geomorphology,overburden depth,lithology,distance to rivers and distance to *** factors were instrumental in predicting the output variable,which was the probability of landslide *** analysis of the models’performance indicated that the DG-RBFN model,with an Area Under ROC Curve(AUC)of 0.931,outperformed the other *** AB-RBFN model achieved an AUC of 0.929,the MB-RBFN model had an AUC of 0.913,and the MLp model recorded an AUC of *** results suggest that the advanced ensemble ML model DG-RBFN was more accurate than traditional statistical model,single MLp model,and other ensemble models in preparing trustworthy landslide susceptibility maps,thereby enhancing land use planning and decision-making.

Aircraft emissions contribute to global climate change and regional air pollution near *** the formation and the transformation of emissions in the aircraft engine is essential to properly quantify the environmental impact and air ***,precise investigation of chemical process in the turbine is challenging because of the complexity of the transformation process in the complex flow relating to the moving blade at high temperature and high *** present here,the first published model study of 3D chemical formations inside a high-pressure turbine and first time to compare three numerical solutions(1D,2D and 3D calculations)of transformation of trace species inside an aircraft *** model has simulated the evolution of principal precursor pollutant gases(NOx and SOx)and other species(hydrogen,oxygen species and carbon oxides).Our results also indicated strong dissimilarities in chemical transformations of 3D *** comparing the three solutions,the results obtained showed that the difference of mole fractions of species can be under predicted by 75%between 1D and 2D calculations and in the comparison of 2D and 3D calculation,the under predicted difference may be 90%.

this study considered and predicted blast-induced ground vibration(ppV)in open-pit mines using bagging and sibling techniques under the rigorous combination of machine learning ***,four machine learning algorithms,including support vector regression(SVR),extra trees(Extree),K-nearest neighbors(KNN),and decision tree regression(DtR),were used as the base models for the purposes of combination and ppV initial *** bagging regressor(BA)was then applied to combine these base models with the efforts of variance reduction,overfitting elimination,and generating more robust predictive models,abbreviated as BA-Extree,BAKNN,BA-SVR,and *** is emphasized that the Extree model has not been considered for predicting blastinduced ground vibration before,and the bagging of Extree is an innovation aiming to improve the accuracy of the inherently Extree model,as *** addition,two empirical models(i.e.,USBM and Ambraseys)were also treated and compared with the bagging models to gain a comprehensive *** this aim,we collected 300 blasting events with different parameters at the Sin Quyen copper mine(Vietnam),and the produced ppV values were also *** were then compiled as the dataset to develop the ppV predictive *** results revealed that the bagging models provided better performance than the empirical models,except for the BA-DtR *** those,the BA-Extree is the best model with the highest accuracy(i.e.,88.8%).Whereas,the empirical models only provided the accuracy from 73.6%–76%.the details of comparisons and assessments were also presented in this study.

Although fibers are used only infrequently as an additive in concrete in the construction industry,fiberenhanced concrete is known to provide a wide range of advantages over conventional *** main objective of this study was to investigate the influences of fiber type and content on the mechanical properties and durability of highperformance fiber-reinforced concrete(HpFRC)designed using a novel densified mixture design algorithm with fly ash and rice husk *** types of fiber,including polypropylene(pp)fiber,steel fiber(SF),and hybrid fiber(HF),were *** on the results,the inclusion of fibers decreased HpFRC flowability,regardless of fiber *** the compressive strength of HpFRC with 1.6%pp fiber content was 11.2%below that of the reference HpFRC specimen at 91 d of curing age,the 91-d compressive strengths of both SF and HF-enhanced HpFRC specimens were significantly better than that of the reference HpFRC ***,the HpFRC specimens incorporating SF and HF both exhibited better splitting tensile and flexural strengths as well as less drying shrinkage than the HpFRC specimens incorporating pp ***,the fiber-enhanced specimens,especially those with added SF,registered less surface electrical resistivity and greater vulnerability to chloride ion penetration than the reference HpFRC specimen.
