Chagas heart disease(ChD)affects approximately 30%of patients chronically infected with the protozoa Trypanosoma *** is classified into four stages of increasing severity according to electrocardiographic,echocardiographic,and clinical *** presents with a myriad of clinical manifestations,but its main complications are sudden cardiac death,heart failure,and ***,ChD has a higher incidence of sudden cardiac death and stroke than most other cardiopathies,and patients with ChD complicated by heart failure have a higher mortality than patients with heart failure caused by other *** patients with ChD,approximately 90%of deaths can be attributed to complications of Chagas *** cardiac death is the most common cause of death(55%–60%),followed by heart failure(25%–30%)and stroke(10%–15%).The high morbimortality and the unique characteristics of ChD demand an individualized approach according to the stage of the disease and associated complications the patient presents ***,the management of ChD is challenging,and in this review,we present the most updated available data to help clinicians and cardiologists in the care of these *** describe the clinical manifestations,diagnosis and classification criteria,risk stratification,and approach to the different clinical aspects of ChD using diagnostic tools and pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.

Fragmentation/disassembly of fiber-like micelles generated by living crystalline-driven self-assembly(CDSA)is usually encountered in aqueous media,which hinders the applications of ***,we report the generation of uniform fiber-like micelles consisting of a𝜋Л-conjugated oligo(p-phenylenevinylene)core and a crosslinking silica shell with grafted poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG)chains by the combination of living CDSA,silica chemistry and surface grafting-onto *** to the presence of crosslinking silica shell and the outmost PEG chains,the resulting micelles exhibit excellent dispersity and colloidal stability in PBS buffer,BSA aqueous solution and upon heating at 80℃ for 2 h without micellar fragmentation/*** micelles also show negligible cytotoxicity toward both heLa cervical cancer and hEK239T human embryonic kidney cell ***,micelles with Ln of 156 nm show the“stealth”property with no significant uptake by heLa cells,whereas some certain amounts of micelles with Ln of 535 nm can penetrate into heLa cells,showing length-dependent cellular uptake *** results provide a route to prepare uniform,colloidally stable fiber-like nanostructures with tunable length and functions derived for biomedical applications.

The purpose of the current study was to evaluate the effect of a high-fat （hF） diet, energy restriction and exercise on the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF）, angiopoietin （Ang） I and 2, and their receptors in rat corpus cavernosum （CC）. Male Wistar rats were fed adlibitum with an h F diet for 8 or 16 weeks. After 8 weeks of the h F diet, a group of rats was subjected to energy restriction with or without exercise for 8 weeks. Control animals had free access to standard diet for the same period. After euthanasia, blood was collected and the penises removed for immunofluorescence assays （VEGF, VEGF receptor （VEGFR） I and 2, Angl, Ang2 and Tie2） and semiquantification of VEGF, VEGFR 1, VEGFR2, Angl, Ang2, Tie2, endothelial nitric oxide synthase （eNOS） and Aktlphospho-Akt by Western blotting. hF diet-fed rats exhibited lower high-density lipoprotein cholesterol （hDL-c） levels, higher systolic blood pressure and an increased atherogenic index. A significant increase in Ang2 expression in the CC was verified and coupled to a decrease in VEGF and VEGFRs. The Akt pathway was activated by the hF diet. Energy restriction and exercise increased eNOS expression and restored most hF diet-induced modifications except for VEGFR2 expression. These results emphasize the role of diet on vascular function regulation, demonstrating that cavernous imbalance of VEGF/VEGFRs and Angs/Tie2 systems occurs before serum lipid changes and obesity onset, antedating structural atherosclerotic features.

Precipitation isotope ratios(O and h)record the history of water phase transitions and fractionation processes during moisture transport and rainfall ***,we evaluated the isotopic composition of precipitation over the central-southeastern region of Brazil at different *** isotopic compositions were associated with classical effects(rainfall amount,seasonality,and continentality),demonstrating the importance of vapor recirculation processes and different regional atmospheric systems(South American Convergence Zone-SACZ and Cold Fronts-CF).While moisture recycling and regional atmospheric processes may also be observed on a daily timescale,classical effects such as the amount effect were not strongly correlated(δ^(18)O-precipitation rate r≤-0.37).Daily variability revealed specific climatic features,such asδ^(18)O depleted values(~-6‰to-8‰)during the wet season were associated with strong convective activity and large moisture *** isotopic analysis revealed the role of different moisture sources and transport *** ratios combined with d-excess explain how atmospheric recirculation processes interact with convective activity during rainfall formation *** findings provide a new understanding of rainfall sampling timescales and highlight the importance of water isotopes to decipher key hydrometeorological processes in a complex spatial and temporal context in central-southeastern Brazil.

Because of the presence of modified warp factors in metric tensors,we use deformed AdS5 spaces to apply the AdS/CFT correspondence to calculate the spectra for even and odd glueballs,scalar and vector mesons,and baryons with different *** the glueball cases,we derive their Regge trajectories and compare them with those related to the pomeron and the *** the scalar and vector mesons,as well as baryons,the determined masses are compatible with the *** particular,for these hadrons we found Regge trajectories compatible with another holographic approach as well as with the hadronic spectroscopy,which present an universal Regge slope of approximately 1.1 GeV^2.

Araucaria angustifolia(Bertol.) O. Kuntze exhibits dimorphism in its stem structure, where the trunk is orthotropic and branches and branchlets(primary and secondary branches) are plagiotropic. These stems exhibit different behavior when used for vegetative propagation,and only segments of trunk can form a complete plant. The physiological and biochemical mechanisms that characterize these stems are still little known. The aim of this study was to describe the free amino acid profiles in trunks,branches, and branchlets of A. angustifolia. Segments of 5 cm in length were excised from young individuals below the stem apex. The needles were removed and samples were frozen and lyophilized. The determinations were made by high-performance liquid chromatography, and the results were expressed as lg/g fresh weight(FW). The trunks and branches had the highest content of total amino acids, which were 112.23 ± 20.57 lg/g FW and 111.97 ± 27.78 lg/g FW, respectively. The amino acids—glutamine, aspartate and c-aminobutyric acid and tyrosine—were noticeably higher in the three types of *** the trunk, a higher amount of asparagine and tryptophan,was also detected. Glutamic acid and glutamine were found in higher quantities in the branches. The branchlets had very low total amino acid content (30.79 ± 4.19 lg/g FW), wherein asparagine is the only amino acid not detected. Thus, it was observed that the profile of the free amino acid differs among trunks, branches, and branchlets in A. angustifolia, indicating that they perform different functions.
