Influence of quenching medium on the dendrite morphology,hardness,and tribological behaviour of cast Cu-Ni-sn spinodal alloy for defence application

Cu-Ni-sn spinodal alloys(spinodal bronze)are potential materials with robust applications in components associated with defence applications like bearings,propellers,bushes,and shafts of heavily loaded aircraft,off-road vehicles,and *** paper presents a comparative study using water,Brine solution,and sAE 40 oil as the quenching media in regular bronze(Cu-6sn)and spinodal bronze(Cu-9Ni-6sn)*** analysis was conducted by optical microscopy,transmission electron microscopy(TEM),and X-ray diffraction technique(XRD)on bronze and spinodal bronze samples immersed in the three different quenching media to understand the grain size and hardness values *** analysis was performed to analyze the effect of quenching media on the wear aspects of bronze and spinodal bronze *** hardness value of the brine-aged spinodal bronze samples was as high as 320 Hv,and the grain size was very low in the range of 60μm.A quantitative comparison between brine-aged regular bronze and brine-aged spinodal bronze showed that the hardness(Hv)was almost 80%higher for brine-aged spinodal ***,the grain size was approximately 30%finer for spinodal bronze when compared with regular *** the load was increased in spinodal bronze samples,there was an initial dip in wear rate followed by a marginal *** was a steady increase in friction coefficient with a rise in load for brine-aged regular bronze and spinodal bronze *** results indicate that brine solution is the most effective quenching medium for cast Cu-Ni-sn spinodal alloys.

Early antiplatelet therapy used for acute ischemic stroke and intracranial hemorrhage

In this editorial we comment on the article published by Zhang et al in the recent issue of World Journal of Clinical *** evaluate their claims on the benefit of use of Aspirin in the early management of patients with ischemic *** also comment on their contention of using aspirin in the early management of patients with intracranial hemorrhage,a practice not seen in modern *** clinical trials such as the International stroke Trial and the Chinese Acute stroke Trial have shown the benefit of Aspirin use within 48 h of patients with Acute Ischemic *** findings were corroborated in the open-label trial performed by Zhang et al in a smaller sample group of 25 patients where they showed improvement in functional scores at 90 days without an increase in adverse *** such,this intervention is also recommended by the American Heart Association stroke guidelines from *** regard to Intracranial hemorrhage,traditional practice has been to discontinue or avoid antiplatelet therapy in these patient ***,no studies have been done to evaluate this management strategy that is more borne out of the mechanism behind Aspirin’s effect on the coagulation *** et al evaluate the benefits of Aspirin on patients with low-volume intracranial hemorrhage,i.e.,less than 30 mL on computed tomo-graphy imaging,and show no increase in *** caveat of this finding is that all outcomes were pooled into one group for results,and the number of patients was *** more studies with larger patient groups are required,the data from Zhang et al suggests that patients with small-volume intracranial hemorrhages may benefit from Aspirin administration in the acute phase of management.

The relationship between age,acceptable noise level,and listening effort in middle-aged and older-aged individuals

Objective:The purpose of the study was to evaluate listening effort in adults who experience varied annoyance towards *** and methods:Fifty native Kannada-speaking adults aged 41e68 years *** evaluated the participant's acceptable noise level while listening to ***,a sentence-final wordidentification and recall test at 0 dB sNR(less favorable condition)and 4 dB sNR(relatively favorable condition)was used to assess listening *** repeat and recall scores were obtained for each ***:The regression model revealed that the listening effort increased by 0.6%at 0 dB sNR and by 0.5%at 4 dB sNR with every one-year advancement in *** effort increased by 0.9%at 0 dB sNR and by 0.7%at 4 dB sNR with every one dB change in the value of Acceptable Noise Level(ANL).At 0 dB sNR and 4 dB sNR,a moderate and mild negative correlation was noted respectively between listening effort and annoyance towards noise when the factor age was ***:Listening effort increases with age,and its effect is more in less favorable than in relatively favorable ***,if the annoyance towards noise was controlled,the impact of age on listening effort was *** effort correlated with the level of annoyance once the age effect was ***,the listening effort was predicted from the ANL to a moderate degree.

BACKGROUND Violence against healthcare workers(HCWs)in the Caribbean continues to prevail yet remains *** aim is to determine the cause,traits,and consequences of violence on HCWs in the *** To determine the cause,traits,and consequences of violence on HCWs in the *** This research adopted an online cross-sectional survey approach,spanning over eight weeks(between June 6th and August 9th,2022).The survey was generated using Research Electronic Data Capture forms and followed a snowballing strategy to contact individuals using emails,social media,text messages,*** regression analysis was performed to evaluate the variables that influence violence,including gender,age,years of experience,institution type,and night shift *** The survey was completed by 225 *** comprised 61%.Over 51%of respondents belonged to the 21 to 35 age ***(n=61),Haiti(n=50),and Grenada(n=31)had the most *** HCWs(49%)worked for government academic institutions,followed by community hospitals(23%).Medical students(32%),followed by attending physicians(22%),and others(16%)comprised the most common cadre of *** 39%of the participants reported experiencing violence themselves,and 18%reported violence against colleague(s).Verbal violence(48%),emotional abuse(24%),and physical misconduct(14%)were the most common types of *** 63%of respondents identified patients or their relatives as the most frequent *** logistic regression analyses demonstrated that female gender(OR=2.08;95%CI:1.16-3.76,P=0.014)and higher frequency of night shifts(OR=2.22;95%CI:1.08-4.58,P=0.030)were associated with significantly higher odds of experiencing *** than 50%of HCWs felt less motivated and had decreased job satisfaction post-violent *** A large proportion of HCWs in the Caribbean are exposed to violence,yet the phenomenon remains *** a result,HCWs’job s

An Effective Density Based Approach to Detect Complex Data Clusters Using Notion of Neighborhood Difference

The density based notion for clustering approach is used widely due to its easy implementation and ability to detect arbitrary shaped clusters in the presence of noisy data points without requiring prior knowledge of the number of clusters to be identified. Density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise （DBsCAN） is the first algorithm proposed in the literature that uses density based notion for cluster detection. since most of the real data set, today contains feature space of adjacent nested clusters, clearly DBsCAN is not suitable to detect variable adjacent density clusters due to the use of global density parameter neighborhood radius Y,.ad and minimum number of points in neighborhood Np~,. so the efficiency of DBsCAN depends on these initial parameter settings, for DBsCAN to work properly, the neighborhood radius must be less than the distance between two clusters otherwise algorithm merges two clusters and detects them as a single cluster. Through this paper： 1） We have proposed improved version of DBsCAN algorithm to detect clusters of varying density adjacent clusters by using the concept of neighborhood difference and using the notion of density based approach without introducing much additional computational complexity to original DBsCAN algorithm. 2） We validated our experimental results using one of our authors recently proposed space density indexing （sDI） internal cluster measure to demonstrate the quality of proposed clustering method. Also our experimental results suggested that proposed method is effective in detecting variable density adjacent nested clusters.
