A Fuzzy Neural Network Based Dynamic Data Allocation Model on heterogeneous Multi-GPUs for Large-scale Computations

The parallel computation capabilities of modern graphics processing units （GPUs） have attracted increasing attention from researchers and engineers who have been conducting high computational throughput studies. However, current single GPU based engineering solutions are often struggling to fulfill their real-time requirements. Thus, the multi-GPU-based approach has become a popular and cost-effective choice for tackling the demands. In those cases, the computational load balancing over multiple GPU ＂nodes＂ is often the key and bottleneck that affect the quality and performance of the real=time system. The existing load balancing approaches are mainly based on the assumption that all GPU nodes in the same computer framework are of equal computational performance, which is often not the case due to cluster design and other legacy issues. This paper presents a novel dynamic load balancing （DLB） model for rapid data division and allocation on heterogeneous GPU nodes based on an innovative fuzzy neural network （FNN）. In this research, a 5-state parameter feedback mechanism defining the overall cluster and node performance is proposed. The corresponding FNN-based DLB model will be capable of monitoring and predicting individual node performance under different workload scenarios. A real=time adaptive scheduler has been devised to reorganize the data inputs to each node when necessary to maintain their runtime computational performance. The devised model has been implemented on two dimensional （2D） discrete wavelet transform （DWT） applications for evaluation. Experiment results show that this DLB model enables a high computational throughput while ensuring real=time and precision requirements from complex computational tasks.

On December 17,2020,the Chang’e-5 reentry spacecraft landed safely and brought back the lunar sample without *** paper describes the recovery system that has critically contributed to the scientific success of the Chang’e-5 missions and presents the technical requirements and constraints of the recovery system for the Chang’e-5 reentry spacecraft and discusses the design process of the recovery system,including the system composition,working procedure,and some other key ***,the ground cover rejection tests and air drop and flight tests were carried out to confirm the design *** results showed that the Chang’e-5 reentry spacecraft recovery system was designed correctly,and its functions and performances met the design requirements.A breakthrough in the recovery technology of the reentry spacecraft was achieved for Chinese first lunar sample-return mission.

C-jun N-terminal Kinase-mediated Signaling Is Essential for Staphylococcus Aureus-induced U937 Apoptosis

Objective To investigate the effect of SP600125, a specific c-jun N-terminal protein kinase (JNK) inhibitor, on Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus)-induced U937 cell death and the underlying mechanism. Methods The human monocytic U937 cells were treated with S. aureus at different time with or without SP600125. Cell apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry. JNK, Bax, and caspase-3 activities were detected by Western blotting. Results S. aureus induced apoptosis in cultured U937 cells in a time-dependent manner. Expression of Bax and phospho-JNK significantly increased in S. aureus-treated U937 cells, and the level of activated caspase-3 also increased in a time-dependent manner. Inhibition of JNK with SP600125 significantly inhibited S. aureus-induced apoptosis in U937 cells. Conclusions S. aureus can induce apoptosis in U937 cells by phosphorylation of JNK and activation of Bax and caspase-3. SP600125 protects U937 cells from apoptosis induced by S. aureus via inhibiting the activity of JNK.

Lattice thermal conductivity of β12 and χ3 borophene

Borophene allotropes have many unique physical properties due to their polymorphism and similarity between boron and *** this work,based on the density functional theory and phonon Boltzmann transport equation,we investigate the lattice thermal conductivityκof bothβ12 andχ3 ***,these two allotropes with similar lattice structures have completely different thermal transport properties.β12 borophene has almost isotropicκaround 90 W/(m·K)at 300 K,whileκofχ3 borophene is much larger and highly *** room temperatureκofχ3 borophene along the armchair direction is 512 W/(m·K),which is comparable to that of hexagonal boron nitride but much higher than most of the two-dimensional *** physical mechanisms responsible for such distinct thermal transport behavior are discussed based on the spectral phonon *** interestingly,we uncover a unique one-dimensional transport feature of transverse acoustic phonon inχ3 borophene along the armchair direction,which results in a boost of phonon relaxation time and thus leads to the significant anisotropy and ultrahigh thermal conductivity inχ3 *** study suggests thatχ3 borophene may have promising application in heat dissipation,and also provides novel insights for enhancing the thermal transport in two-dimensional systems.

Design of catalyst layers(CLs)with high proton conductivity in membrane electrode assemblies(MEAs)is an important issue for proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs).herein,an ultrathin catalyst layer was constructed based on Pt-decorated nanoporous gold(NPG-Pt)with sub-Debye-length thickness for proton *** the absence of ionomer incorporation in the CLs,these integrated carbon-free electrodes can deliver maximum mass-specific power density of 198.21 and 25.91 kW·gPt^(-1) when serving individually as the anode and cathode,at a Pt loading of 5.6 and 22.0 pg·cm^(-2),respectively,comparable to the best reported nano-catalysts for ***-depth quantitative experimental measurements and finite-element analyses indicate that improved proton conduction plays a critical role in activation,ohmic and mass transfer polarizations.

Cd Se/Zn S quantum dots induce photodynamic effects and cytotoxicity in pancreatic cancer cells

AIM: To investigate the photodynamic effect of Cd Se/Zn S quantum dots(QDs) on pancreatic cancer cells and elucidate the probable ***: The pancreatic cancer cell line SW1990 was treated with different concentrations of Cd Se/Zn S QDs(0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 μmol/L), with or without illumination. The viability of SW1990 cells was tested using the Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8) assay. The ultrastructural changes of SW1990 cells were observed by transmission electron microscopy. Apoptosis was detected by nuclear staining and flow cytometry(FCM). Reactive oxygen species(ROS) were measured by dichlorofluorescein diacetate via fluorescence microscopy. Expression of Bax, Bcl-2 and caspase-3 was measured by real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR) and protein immunoblotting 24 h after SW1990 cells were treated with Cd Se/Zn S QDs and ***: The CCK-8 assay results showed that both Cd Se/Zn S QDs with and without illumination suppressed SW1990 cell proliferation. Cell viability was significantly lower when illuminated or with a longer incubation time and a higher light dose. Cd Se/Zn S QDs with illumination caused ultrastructural changes in SW1990 cells, such as organelle degeneration and chromatin condensation and aggregation at the periphery of the nucleus. Fluorescence microscopy and FCM showed that Cd Se/Zn S QDs(1.5 μmol/L) with illumination increased SW1990 cell apoptosis(53.2%) and ROS generation compared with no illumination. Real-time PCR showed that expression of Bax and caspase-3 was upregulated and Bcl-2 was downregulated. Immunoblotting results were consistent with real-time PCR results. Inhibition of ROS and apoptosis both attenuated QD-photodynamictherapy-induced cell ***: Cd Se/Zn S QDs can be used as a photosensitizer to inhibit SW1990 cell proliferation through ROS generation and apoptotic protein expression regulation.

Association between Residential Greenness and Cardiometabolic Risk Factors among Adults in Rural Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,China:A Cross-Sectional Study

Objective This study aimed to explore the relationships between residential greenness and cardiometabolic risk factors among rural adults in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region(Xinjiang)and thus provide a theoretical basis and data support for improving the health of residents in this *** We recruited 9,723 adult rural residents from the 51st Regiment of the Third Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps in September *** normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)was used to estimate residential *** generalized linear mixed model(GLMM)was used to examine the association between residential greenness and cardiometabolic risk *** Higher residential greenness was associated with lower cardiometabolic risk factor *** adjustments were made for age,sex,education,and marital status,for each interquartile range(IQR)increase of NDVI500-m,the risk of hypertension was reduced by 10.3%(OR=0.897,95%CI=0.836-0.962),the risk of obesity by 20.5%(OR=0.795,95%CI=0.695-0.910),the risk of type 2 diabetes by 15.1%(OR=0.849,95%CI=0.740-0.974),and the risk of dyslipidemia by 10.5%(OR=0.895,95%CI=0.825-0.971).Risk factor aggregation was reduced by 20.4%(OR=0.796,95%CI=0.716-0.885)for the *** analysis showed that NDVI500-m was associated more strongly with hypertension,dyslipidemia,and risk factor aggregation among male *** association of NDVI500-m with type 2 diabetes was stronger among participants with a higher education ***10 and physical activity mediated 1.9%-9.2%of the associations between NDVI500-m and obesity,dyslipidemia,and risk factor *** Higher residential greenness has a protective effect against cardiometabolic risk factors among rural residents in *** the area of green space around residences is an effective measure to reduce the burden of cardiometabolic-related diseases among rural residents in Xinjiang.

Integrated silicon-based suspended racetrack micro-resonator for biological solution sensing with high-order mode

A biological sensing structure with a high-order mode(E^(y)_(21))is designed,which is composed of a suspended racetrack micro-resonator(SRTMR)and a microfluidic *** mode characteristics,coupling properties,and sensing performances are simulated by using the finite element method(FEM).To analyze the mode confinement property,the confinement factors in the core and cladding of the suspended waveguide for the E^(x)_(11),E^(y)_(11),and E^(y)_(21) are *** simulation results show that the refractive index(RI)sensitivity of the proposed sensing structure can be improved by using the high-order mode(Ey 21).The RI sensitivity for the E^(y)_(21) mode is~201 nm/RIU,which is twice to thrice higher than those for the E^(x)_(11) mode and the E^(y)_(11) *** a commercial spectrometer,the proposed sensing structure based on the SRTMR achieves a limit of detection(LOD)of -4.7×10^(-6) *** with the microfluidic channel,the SRTMR can possess wide applications in the clinical diagnostic assays and biochemical detections.
