Thermal shot noise, thermal voltage and thermo power are studied through a carbon nanotube quantum dot coupled to two leads with random roughness of amplitude on each of the two boundaries, under the effect of microwave field, and magnetic field. The expressions for the thermal shot noise and thermal energy are deduced when the barrier strength and contact area are taken into consideration. A model for such mesoscopic devices is proposed as a carbon nanotube quantum dot coupled to two leads with random roughness of amplitude on each of the two boundaries. The results show oscillatory behaviors of the dependence of the thermal shot noise on the studied parameters. The thermopower oscillates with the variation of the contact area, and the peak heights decrease linearly with the contact area and increases with temperature. This trend of behavior is due to the interplay of the induced microwave photons and the tunneling rate through the side bands. This research is important for using a model as a high-frequency shot noise detector and the thermopower is sensitive to the energy dependence of the conductance.

Prostate-specific antigen （PSA） along with digital rectal exam has been the standard for prostate cancer screening in the United States for the past 20 years.1 During this time period, the improved detection of prostate cancer decreased related mortality more than 30%.2 In fact, metastases and their comorbidities have decreased more than 75% since the early 1990s, resulting in a higher incidence of early organ-confined disease. While it is clear that prostate cancer mortality statistics have improved, it is unclear whether men are overscreened.

We demonstrate the ability of a combined scanning electron microscope and cathodoluminescence （CL） spectral mapping system to provide important spatially resolved information. The degree of inhomogeneity in spectral output across a multi-quantum well sample is measured using the SEM-CL system as well as measuring the efficiency roll-off with increasing carrier concentration. The effects of low energy electron beam modification on the IngaN/gaN multi quantum wells have also been characterized.

Real-time hybrid simulation is an attractive method to evaluate the response of structures under earthquake loads. The method is a variation of the pseudodynamic testing technique in which the experiment is executed in real time, thus allowing investigation of structural systems with rate-dependent components. Real-time hybrid simulation is challenging because it requires performance of all calculations, application of displacements, and acquisition of measured forces, within a very small increment of time. Furthermore, unless appropriate compensation for actuator dynamics is implemented, stability problems are likely to occur during the experiment. This paper presents an approach for real-time hybrid simulation in which compensation for actuator dynamics is implemented using a model-based feedforward compensator. The method is used to evaluate the response of a semi-active control of a structure employing an MR damper. Experimental results show good agreement with the predicted responses, demonstrating the effectiveness of the method for structural control performance assessment.

Objective:To identify potential vectors of kala-azar from Northern plains of Uttar Pradesh, ***:The collections were made using sticky paper traps,CDC light-traps,and aspirators from outdoors as well as *** female sandflies were dissected and identified. Results:During January 2009 to July 2009,528 phlebotomine specimens were collected including 329 males(62.3%) and 199 females(37.7%),approximately 238(45%) of them were captured from indoor and 290(55%) from outdoor resting *** species belonging to the genera Phlebotomus(8%) and Sergentomyia(92%) were ***:Public health measures such as case detection and treatment,the control of sandflies,the conjunction elimination of infected stray dogs and health education can be effective in controlling the disease.

We investigate the Fano factor in a strained armchair and zigzag graphene nanoribbon nanodevice under the effect of ac field in a wide range of frequencies at different temperatures （10？K–70？K）. This nanodevice is modeled as follows： a graphene nanoribbon is connected to two metallic leads. These two metallic leads operate as a source and a drain. The conducting substance is the gate electrode in this three-terminal nanodevice. Another metallic gate is used to govern the electrostatics and the switching of the graphene nanoribbon channel. The substances at the graphene nanoribbon/metal contact are controlled by the back gate. The photon-assisted tunneling probability is deduced by solving the Dirac eigenvalue differential equation in which the Fano factor is expressed in terms of this tunneling probability. The results show that for the investigated nanodevice, the Fano factor decreases as the frequency of the induced ac field increases, while it increases as the temperature increases. In general, the Fano factors for both strained armchair and zigzag graphene nanoribbons are different. This is due to the effect of the uniaxial strain. It is shown that the band structure parameters of graphene nanoribbons at the energy gap, the C–C bond length, the hopping integral, the Fermi energy and the width are modulated by uniaxial strain. This research gives us a promise of the present nanodevice being used for digital nanoelectronics and sensors.
