Spinel LiMn204 was synthesized by glycine-nitrate method and coated with CaCO3 in order to enhance the electrochemical performance at room temperature （25℃） and 55℃. The uncoated and CaCO3-coated LiMn204 materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and electrochemical tests. XRD and SEM results indicated that CaCO3 particles encapsulated the surface of the LiMn204 without causing any structural change. The charge-discharge tests showed that the specific discharge capacity fade of pristine electrode at 25 and 55℃ were 25.5% and 52%, respectively. However, surface modified cathode shows 7.4% and 29.5% loss compared to initial specific discharge capacity at 70th cycle for 25 and 55~C, respectively. The improvement of electrochemical performance is attributed to suppression of Mn2＋ dissolution into electrolyte via CaCO3 layer.

The Ak?akale Cave is located in the vicinity of the Arsa neighborhood within the boundaries of the Ak?akale village, Gümü?hane, Turkey. The cave is rich in cave formations(stalactite, stalagmite, cave pearl, cave flower, wall travertines). Thus, the appropriateness of opening the cave to visitors to boost tourism is of importance for the local and national economy. This study analyzes the stability of the Ak?akale Cave using a numerical analysis method. According to the results of the total displacement analysis, there are displacements in the entrance, ceiling, and sidewalls of the cave ranging from 1 mm to 48 mm. It seems that the entrance, ceiling, and sidewalls of the cave face a high risk of local or sudden collapse. According to the deformation analysis of the length section of the cave examined, local collapses may occur especially in the first 75 m from the entrance of the cave. We believe that this situation would not carry a risk for the Arsa neighborhood for now. In conclusion, the results of the stability analysis and in-situ observations showed clear evidence of former and ongoing cave-ins(collapses) and the Ak?akale Cave faces a high risk of local or sudden collapse. Thus, although the Ak?akale Cave is one of the most prominent karst caves in Turkey, it seems to be not appropriate to open the cave to tourist visits.

This paper addresses the urgent need to detect network security attacks,which have increased significantly in recent years,with high accuracy and avoid the adverse effects of these *** intrusion detection system should respond seamlessly to attack patterns and *** use of metaheuristic algorithms in attack detection can produce near-optimal solutions with low computational *** achieve better performance of these algorithms and further improve the results,hybridization of algorithms can be used,which leads to more successful ***,many studies are conducted on this *** this study,a new hybrid approach using Gray Wolf Optimizer(GWO)and Moth-Flame Optimization(MFO)algorithms was developed and applied to widely used data sets such as NSL-KDD,UNSW-NB15,and CIC IDS 2017,as well as various benchmark *** ease of hybridization of the GWO algorithm,its simplicity,its ability to perform global optimal search,and the success of the MFO algorithm in obtaining the best solution suggested that an effective solution would be obtained by combining these two *** these reasons,the developed hybrid algorithm aims to achieve better results by using the good aspects of both the GWO algorithm and the MFO *** reviewing the results,it was found that a high level of success was achieved in the benchmark *** achieved better results in 12 of the 13 benchmark functions *** addition,the success rates obtained according to the evaluation criteria in the different data sets are also *** the 97.4%,98.3%,and 99.2% classification accuracy results obtained in the NSL-KDD,UNSW-NB15,and CIC IDS 2017 data sets with the studies in the literature,they seem to be quite successful.

The experimental elastic cross section data of the projectile11 Be on target12 C at 49.3 Me V/nucleon energy is analysed. The calculations for the elastic scattering are performed by the phenomenological optical model. The different optical potentials to include breakup effects into the calculations, which are neutron+12C, neutron+10Be and10Be+12C, are described with the aid of the global potentials for neutron interactions and fitted to experimental data for the core and target interaction. Also, the first analysis of the optical model for10 Be on target12 C at 39.1 Me V is done for building the interaction potential of the core and the target for11 Be. For investigating the effects of the spectroscopic factors, obtained factors from the direct capture process using the nuclear level density are compared with the previous cross section and spectroscopic factor results. Obtained results for the elastic cross section reproduce the experimental data very well and show the requirement of including spectroscopic properties such as, spectroscopic factors and density of the excited states, to explain this elastic cross section data.

AIM: To evaluate the effects of dexamethasone on liver damage in rats with bile duct ligation. METHODS: A total of 40 male Sprague-Dawley rats, weighing 165-205 g, were used in this study. Group 1 (sham-control, n = 10) rats underwent laparotomy alone and the bile duct was just dissected from the surrounding tissue. Group 2 rats (untreated, n = 10) were subjected to bile duct ligation (BDL) and no drug was applied. Group 3 rats (low-dose dexa, n = 10) received a daily dose of dexamethasone by orogastric tube for 14 d after BDL. Group 4 rats (high-dose dexa, n = 10) received a daily dose of dexamethasone by orogastric tube for 14 d after BDL. At the end of the two-week period, biochemical and histological evaluations were processed. RESULTS: The mean serum bilirubin and liver enzyme levels signifi cantly decreased, and superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) values were significantly increased in low-dose dexa and high-dose dexa groups when compared to the untreated group. The histopathological score was significantly less in the low-dose and high-dose dexa groups compared to the untreated rats. In the low-dose dexa group, moderate liver damage was seen, while mild liver damage was observed in the high-dose dexa group. CONCLUSION: Corticosteroids reduced liver damage produced by bile duct obstruction. However, the histopathological score was not signifi cantly lower in the high-dose corticosteroid group as compared to the low-dose group. Thus, low-dose corticosteroid provides asignifi cant reduction of liver damage without increased side effects, while high dose is associated not with lower fi brosis but with increased side effects.

Effects of the Application of Different Concentrations of NaN3 for Different Times on the Morphological and Cytogenetic Characteristics of Barley （Hordeum vulgate L.） Seedlings

Sodium azide （NAN3） has been used in many biological studies as a mutagen. In the present study, the morphological and cytogenetic effects of NaN3 on barley （Hordeum vulgare L.） seedlings were investigated. Seeds of barley were treated with different concentrations of NaN3 （0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0 mmol/L） and applied for different periods of time （3 and 4 h）. Parameters investigated, except for the mitotic index, were determined on Days 7 and 14. Increasing concentrations of NaN3 affected germination rates on Days 7 and 14 following application for 3 and 4 h. Although the length of the roots and leaves was affected by treatment with NaN3 on Day 14 of the germination period, coleoptile length was affected by NaN3 treatment on Day 7. Increasing concentrations of NaN3 and increased treatment period decreased the mitotic index compared with the untreated control. The inhibitory effects of NaN3 on the mitotic index indicate that NaN3 can have genotoxic and mutagenic effects on barley seedlings.

LiEr0.02Fe0.98PO4/C composite cathode was synthesized by a simple solution method with polyethylene glycol （PEG） as the reductive agent and carbon source. The effect of erbium doping on the electrochemical behavior of LiFePO4 was studied in this paper. The samples were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction and scanning electron microscopy and the electrochemical properties were investigated by the charge-discharge test. An initial discharge capacity of 149 mAh.g-1 was achieved for the LiEr0.02Fe0.98PO4/C composite cathode with a rate of 0.1 C. The electronic conductivity of Er doped LiFePO4/C was measured as 10-2 ***-1. The results indicated that erbium doping did not destroy the lattice structure of LiFePO4 and enlarge the lattice volume. These changes are beneficial to the improvement of the electrochemical performance of the LiFePO4 cathode.

A novel catalytic kinetic method is proposed for the determination of Se（Ⅳ）, Se（Ⅵ）, and total inorganic selenium in water based on the catalytic effect of Se（Ⅳ） on the reduction of Celestine blue by sodium sulfide at pH 7.0 phosphate buffer. The fixed-time method was adopted for the determination and speciation of inorganic selenium. Under the optimum conditions, the two calibration graphs are linear with a good correlation coefficient in the range 2-20 and 20-200 μg·L-1 of Se（Ⅳ） for the fixed-time method at 30℃. The experimental and theo- retical detection limits of the developed kinetic method were found to be 0.21 and 2.50 μg·L-1 for the fixed-time method （3 min）. All of the variables that affect the sensitivity at 645 nm were investigated, and the optimum conditions were established. The interference effect of various cations and anions on the Se（Ⅳ） determination was also studied. The selectivity of the selenium determination was greatly improved with the use of the strongly cation exchange resin such as Amberlite IR120 plus as long as chelating agents of thiourea and thiosulphate. The proposed kinetic method was validated statistically and through recovery studies in natural water samples. The relative standard deviations （RSDs） for ten replicate measurements of 2, 10, and 20 μg·L-1 of Se（Ⅳ） change between 0.35% and 5.58%, while the RSDs for ten replicate measurements of 3, 6, and 12 μg·L-1 of Se（Ⅵ） change between 0.49% and 1.61%. Analyses of a certified standard reference material （NIST SRM 1643e） for selenium using the fixed-time method showed that the proposed kinetic method has good accuracy. The Se（Ⅳ）, Se（Ⅵ）, and total inorganic selenium in lake and river water samples have been successfully determined by this method after selective reduction of Se（Ⅵ） to Se（Ⅳ）.

Tors are mound-like rock landforms,resistant to erosion,that may sometimes reach the size of several storeys of house by *** may develop in different climate regions and different rock types,led by granitic *** this study,tors developed in granitic rocks around Yaylal?village linked to Kürtün county in Gümü?hane were *** study area is located in the eastern part of the Giresun mountain range in northeastern Turkey,2000-2300 m above sea *** aim of the study is to determine the natural environmental characteristics in tor formation and to reveal the effect of bedrock on tor *** field studies,18 tors were selected by noting location,size and structural features,and dimensions were *** sections were first made from the rock samples taken from the tors and then the mineralogical composition was investigated by modal analysis *** a result of this analysis,it was determined that the bedrock forming the tors is *** the field observations,it was determined that the intersecting vertical joints supported the formation of castle-like tors,while the horizontal joints supported the formation of pita pileshaped *** are also pseudokarstic shapes resembling kamenitza and karst *** conclusion,joint sets causing local resistance differences directed the formation of tors,while excess slope affected surface erosion and suitability of climate conditions-controlled weathering rate.
