Drought stress can negatively impact apple fruit quality and *** microRNAs(miRNAs)participate in apple tree and fruit development,as well as in biotic stress tolerance;however,it is largely unknown whether these molecules are involved in the drought *** identify drought-responsive miRNAs in Malus,we first examined the drought stress tolerance of ten F1 progenies of R3(M.×domestica)×*** performed Illumina sequencing on pooled total RNA from both drought-tolerant and drought-sensitive *** sequencing results identified a total of 206 known miRNAs and 253 candidate novel miRNAs from drought-tolerant plants and drought-sensitive plants under control or drought *** identified 67 miRNAs that were differentially expressed in drought-tolerant plants compared with drought-sensitive plants under drought *** drought stress,61 and 35 miRNAs were differentially expressed in drought-tolerant and drought-sensitive plants,*** determined the expression levels of seven out of eight miRNAs by stem-loop qPCR *** also predicted the target genes of all differentially expressed miRNAs and identified the expression of some *** Ontology analyses indicated that the target genes were mainly involved in stimulus response and cellular and metabolic ***,we confirmed roles of two miRNAs in apple response to *** results reveal candidate miRNAs and their associated mRNAs that could be targeted for improving drought tolerance in Malus species,thus providing a foundation for understanding the molecular networks involved in the response of apple trees to drought stress.

Magnetic susceptibility(MS)data were obtained from 11 sections of the Doushantuo(Edicaran)cap carbonate that directly overlies the Nantuo glacial diamictite in the southeastern margin of the Yangtze *** MS data revealed two regionally correlatable peaks at the bottom and top of the cap carbonate,sepa-rated by an interval of low *** lower MS peak coincides with high percentage of insoluble siliciclastic residues that are compositionally identical to the matrix of the underlying diamictite,suggesting its origin con-trolled mainly by detrital components during the first phase of cap carbonate deposition at the end of the *** upper MS peak is associated with high clay content and iron sulfides,and can be interpreted as either derived from enhanced greenhouse weathering that could have brought more terrigenous components into the ocean,or the result of ocean anoxia at the late stage of cap carbonate deposition that could led to formation of abundant iron *** regionally consistent MS curves from the cap carbonates provided the first geo-physical record for the rapid climate change from icehouse to greenhouse conditions in the aftermath of the Neoproterozoic“snowball Earth”event.

This paper,through mass spectrometric(MS)analysis for nitro compound explosives on a direct analysis in a real‑time time‑of‑flight MS,indicates that even on a high‑resolution MS with accurate mass measurement capabilities,there is no guarantee to obtain the unique molecular formula of a *** calculating spectra accuracy,highly accurate isotope pattern matching can be conducted to significantly improve performance of compound confirmation or identification.

There were four microsporanges in the mature anther of B. rossica Fedtsch. et Flerov. The development of the anther wall belonged to dicotyledonous type. The tapetum cell was dichotypic. Simultaneous cytocinesis in the microspore mother cells formed tetrad by reduction division and the array of microspore tetrads was different. There were tetrahedron type and bilateral symmetry type. The male gametophyte was 2-cell. The mature pollen was global and tricolporate. All those results were investigated under both light microscope （LM） and electron microscope （EM）

Tumor derived small extracellular vesicles(TsEVs)display a great potential as efficient nanocarriers for chemotherapy because of their intrinsic targeting ***,the inherited risks of their original cargos(like loaded proteins or RNAs)from parent cancer cells in tumor progression severely hinder the practical *** this study,a saponin-mediated cargo elimination strategy was established and practiced in glioblastoma(GBM)cell-derived small extracellular vesicles(GBM-sEVs).A high eliminating efficacy of the cargo molecules was confirmed by systematic analysis of the original proteins and RNAs in *** addition,the inherited functions of GBM-sEVs to promote GBM progression vanished after saponin ***,the results of cellular uptake analysis and in vivo imaging analysis demonstrated that saponin treatment preserved the homotypic targeting ability of ***,we developed an efficient nanocarrier with improved biosafety for GBM ***,doxorubicin(DOX)transported by the saponin-treated GBM-sEVs(sa-GBM-sEVs)displayed an effective tumor suppression in both subcutaneous and orthotopic GBM models of ***,this study provides a feasible way to avoid the potential protumoral risks of TsEVs and can advance the clinical application of TsEVs in chemotherapy.

BACKGROUND： Certain components of tetramethylpyrazine, a traditional Chinese medicine, exhibit protective effects against brain injury. OBJECTIVE： To investigate the effects of different Naoxintong doses on expression of nuclear factor-kappa B （ kB）, interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor-α, and complement 3 in rats following focal cerebral ischemia. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： The randomized experiment was performed at the Laboratory of Neurology, Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University from June 2004 to June 2006. MATERIALS： A total of 150 adult, healthy, male, Sprague Dawley rats, weighing 280-320g, were selected. Naoxintong powder （mainly comprising szechwan lovage rhizome, milkvetch root, danshen root, and radix angelicae sinensis） was obtained from Buchang Pharmacy Co., Ltd. in Xianyang City of Shanxi Province of China, lot number 040608. METHODS： The rats were randomly assigned into sham operation, saline, high-dose Naoxintong, moderate-dose Naoxintong, and low-dose Naoxintong groups, with 30 rats in each group. Rat models of middle cerebral artery occlusion were established using the suture method, with the exception of the sham operation group. Rats in the high-dose, moderate-dose and low-dose Naoxintong groups received 4, 2, and 1 g/kg Naoxintong respectively, by gavage. Rats in the saline group were treated with 1 mL saline by gavage All rats were administered by gavage at 5 and 23 hours following surgery, and subsequently, once per day. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： At 6, 24, 48, 72 hours, and 7 days following model establishment, brain water content was measured. Histopathological changes in brain tissues were detected using hematoxylin-eosin staining. Expression of nuclear factor- kB, interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor- α, and complement 3 was examined by immunohistochemistry.
