Precipitating thermally reinforcement phase in aluminum alloys for enhanced strength at 400℃

Heat-resistant aluminum alloys are widely used in aerospace and automotive fields for manufacturing hot components due to their advantages in lightweight design and energy ***,the high-temperature strength of existing cast aluminum alloys is always limited to about 100 MPa at 350℃due to coarsening and transformation of strengthening ***,we reveal that the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength of the T6 state Al-8.4Cu-2.3Ce-1.0Mn-0.5Ni-0.2Zr alloy at 400◦C increase by 34%and 44%after re-aging at 300℃for 100 h,and its thermal strength exhibits distinguished ad-vantage over traditional heat-resistant aluminum *** enhanced elevated-temperature strength is attributed to the reprecipitation of the Ni-bearing T-Al_(20)Cu_(2)Mn_(3)phase,whose number density increases over one *** significant segregation of Ni,Ce,and Zr elements at the interfaces helps improve the thermal stability of the T *** thermostable T phase effectively strengthens the matrix by in-hibiting dislocation ***,a highly interconnected 3D intermetallic network along the grain boundaries can still remain after long-term re-aging at 300℃,which is conducive to imposing a drag on the grain boundaries at high *** finding offers a viable route for enhancing the elevated-temperature strength of heat-resistant aluminum alloys,which could provide expanded opportunities for higher-temperature applications.

Perleididae is a group of stem neopterygian fishes known only from the ***,we report the discovery of a new perleidid,Teffichthys wui ***.,based on six well-preserved specimens from the late Smithian(Olenekian,Early Triassic)marine deposits of Jurong,Jiangsu and Chaohu,Anhui,*** new discovery documents the third and youngest species of Teffichthys,which is slightly younger than the Dienerian(Induan)*** from Guizhou and the early Smithian *** from *** new species shows diagnostic features of Teffichthys(presence of a spiracular,38-41 lateral line scales,and no more than three epaxial rays in the caudal fin)but differs from *** and *** in some autapomorphies(e.g.,a horizontal opercle/subopercle contact and smooth scales with a nearly straight posterior margin).The diagnostic features for the genus Teffichthys and the family Perleididae are emended based on detailed comparisons of the new taxon with other *** phylogenetic relationships of perleidids with other stem neopterygians are discussed using a cladistic approach,and the results provide new insights into the phylogeny and classification of main stem neopterygian clades.

Beams typically do not travel through the magnet centers because of errors in storage *** beam deviating from the quadrupole centers is affected by additional dipole fields due to magnetic field ***-based alignment(BBA)is often performed to determine a golden orbit where the beam circulates around the quadrupole center *** storage rings with many quadrupoles,the conventional BBA procedure is time-consuming,particularly in the commissioning phase,because of the necessary iterative *** addition,the conventional BBA method can be affected by strong coupling and the nonlinearity of the storage ring *** this study,a novel method based on a neural network was proposed to determine the golden orbit in a much shorter time with reasonable *** golden orbit can be used directly for operation or adopted as a starting point for conventional *** method was demonstrated in the HLS-II storage ring for the first time through simulations and online *** results of the experiments showed that the golden orbit obtained using this new method was consistent with that obtained using the conventional *** development of this new method and the corresponding experiments are reported in this paper.

Research progress of carbon-based particle electrodes in three-dimensional electrode reactors for wastewater treatment

Three-dimensional(3D) electrode technology is a competitive water treatment technology owing to its high catalytic efficiency, low energy consumption, and promising development. The introduction of a third electrode on the basis of a 2D electrode system forms a 3D electrode system, and the introduced third electrode is also known as the particle electrode. Particle electrodes in3D electrode system are generally in the form of particles or crumbs that be filled in between the cathode and anode. The core of the3D electrode system is the particle electrode, so the selection of particle electrode materials is the focus of the research of 3D electrode technology. Carbon-based materials are widely used as particle electrodes in 3D electrode technology because of their advantages of large specific surface area, good adsorption performance, high chemical stability, and low price. In this review, the research progress of carbon-based materials as particle electrodes for degrading organic pollutants in recent years is collected, the principle of3D electrode technology is introduced, along with the classification of particle electrodes and the current research status of carbonbased particle electrodes, and the challenges and future development of carbon-based particle electrodes in wastewater treatment are summarized.

Synthesis-temperature-dependent phase composition manipulation toward high thermoelectric performance in tetrahedrites

Tetrahedrite,an Earth-abundant natural mineral,has attracted extensive research interest because of its excellent thermoelectric ***,tetrahedrite samples comprising Cu-poor Cu_(12)Sb_(4)S_(13)and Cu-rich Cu_(14)Sb_(4)S_(13)phases have been synthesized using a colloidal method,in which the ratio of two phases is manipulated by controlling the synthesis temperature to improve the thermoelectric *** is found that an ultralow total thermal conductivity of∼0.3 W m^(−1)K^(−1)at 723 K is realized in the sample with a Cu-rich phase fraction of∼50%,which can be attributed to maximized phonon scattering by phase *** a result,combined with a decent power factor,this sample obtains an optimal zT of 1.15,which is about 85%higher than that of the sample with a Cu-rich phase fraction of∼64%and comparable to zT values of other eco-friendly,abundant Cu-based thermoelectric *** work demonstrates an effective synthesis-temperature-dependent phase composition manipulation strategy toward enhanced thermoelectric performance in tetrahedrites.

Effect of Acupuncture on Endometrial Blood Flow in Women Undergoing in vitro Fertilization Embryo Transfer: A Single Blind, Randomized Controlled Trial

Objective: To evaluate the effect of manual acupuncture on endometrial blood flow parameters by three-dimensional(3D) power Doppler ultrasound in women undergoing in vitro fertilization embryo transfer(IVF-ET). Methods: Seventy patients undergoing IVF-ET were equally randomized into traditional or sham acupuncture treatment group for totally 4 days(from the day of oocyte aspiration to the day of embryo transfer) of treatment by random envelope method at the Reproductive Medicine Center and Outpatient Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medicine College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from January 2013 to December 2015. Patients in the traditional acupuncture group accepted traditional acupuncture methods with manual acupuncture, and Zhongji(CV3), Qihai(CV 6), Sanyinjiao(SP6), Taichong(LR 3), Tianshu(ST 25), Guilai(ST 29) and Zusanli(ST 36) were chosen. Patients at the sham acupuncture group accepted shallow acupuncture methods at 4 non-meridian points at each shoulder and upper arm. Outcome measures included endometrial ultrasonic indices such as vascularization index(VI), flow index(FI) and vascularization flow index(VFI), endometrial thickness and volume, subendometrial VI(sVI), subendometrial FI(sFI), subendometrial VFI(sVFI), implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate, abortion rate, live birth rate and number of live births. Results: Finally, 34 patients in the traditional acupuncture group and 35 in the sham acupuncture group completed this trial. VI, FI and VFI of the traditional acupuncture group were significantly higher than those in the sham acupuncture group(P0.05). m^(6)A methylation is the most frequent modification of mRNA in eukaryotes and plays a crucial role in cancer progression by regulating biological ***-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding proteins(IGF2BP)are newly identified m^(6)A‘readers’.They belong to a family of RNA-binding proteins,which bind to the m^(6)A sites on different RNA sequences and stabilize them to promote cancer *** this review,we summarize the mechanisms by which different upstream factors regulate IGF2BP in *** current literature analyzed here reveals that the IGF2BP family proteins promote cancer cell proliferation,survival,and chemoresistance,inhibit apoptosis,and are also associated with cancer glycolysis,angiogenesis,and the immune response in the tumor ***,with the discovery of their role as‘readers’of m^(6)A and the characteristic re-expression of IGF2BPs in cancers,it is important to elucidate their mechanism of action in the immunosuppressive tumor *** also describe in detail the regulatory and interaction network of the IGF2BP family in downstream target RNAs and discuss their potential clinical applications as diagnostic and prognostic markers,as well as recent advances in IGF2BP biology and associated therapeutic value.

Breaking the efficiency limitations of dissipative Kerr solitons using nonlinear couplers

Dissipative Kerr solitons(DKS) have long been suffering from poor power conversion efficiency when driven by continuous-wave lasers. By deriving the critical coupling condition of a multimode nonlinear optics system in a generalized theoretical framework,two efficiency limitations of the conventional pump method of DKS are revealed: the effective coupling rate is too small and is also power-dependent. A general approach is provided to resolve this challenge by introducing two types of nonlinear couplers to couple the soliton cavity and CW input through nonlinear processes. The collective coupler opens multiple coupling channels and the self-adaptive coupler builds a power-independent effective external coupling rate to the DKS for approaching the generalized critical coupling condition, which promises near-unity power conversion efficiencies. For instance, a conversion efficiency exceeding 90% is predicted for aluminum nitride microrings with a nonlinear coupler utilizing second-harmonic generation. The mechanism applies to various nonlinear processes, including Raman and Brillouin scattering, and thus paves the way for micro-solitons toward practical applications.

Biases in hydrostatic mass profiles introduced by hot gas substructures:Chandra study of four galaxy clusters

By analyzing the azimuthal variations of total gravitating mass profiles in the central 300 h^-1 71 kpc regions of four galaxy clusters with Chandra data, we find that the azimuthally-averaged mass profiles may have been systematically underestimated by 16^＋9 -8% at lσ significance in the 50-100 h^-1 71 kpc regions, probably due to the prevailing existence of 2-D hot gas substructures in 100-300h^-1 71 kpc. The mass biases become negligible（-7＋11 _9＋ %） at 〉 150 h^-1 71 kpc. We confirm the results that the gas temperature maps can be used to probe the departure from hydrostatic equilibrium and help quantify the systematic biases in X-ray mass measurements in the central regions of clusters.

Super-high bed sintering for iron ores:problems ascertainment

Super-high bed sintering process is an important development direction of iron ore sintering for its lower emission and higher ***,there is a lack of deep understanding of the uneven quality of super-high bed sintering products,and the deterioration of reduction disintegration performance,the thickening of hearth layer and the reduction in energy-saving effect are perplexing enterprises and *** ascertain the problems of super-high bed sintering,ten sintering machines with the areas of 265,280,360,550 and 660 m^(2)and bed depth above 900 mm were sampled and *** results showed that problems were mainly shown in the unevenness of chemical composition,macrostructure,mechanical strength and metallurgical *** chemical composition exhibits severe segregation in both horizontal and vertical directions,with basicity segregation reaching as high as *** uneven macrostructure of sinter is reflected in a 10%difference in porosity and mechanical strength increase in 16%–19%along the vertical *** reducibility and reduction disintegration performance gradually deteriorate along the bed depth,with a difference of 10.5%in reducibility and 7.3%in RDI−0.5 mm(reduction disintegration index of sinter with size smaller than 0.5 mm).
