Due to the push for carbon neutrality in various human activities, the development of methods for producing electricity without relying on chemical reaction processes or heat sources has become highly significant. Also, the challenge lies in achieving microwatt-scale outputs due to the inherent conductivity of the materials and diverting electric currents. To address this challenge, our research has concentrated on utilizing nonconductive mediums for water-based low-cost microfibrous ceramic wools in conjunction with a NaCl aqueous solution for power generation. The main source of electricity originates from the directed movement of water molecules and surface ions through densely packed microfibrous ceramic wools due to the effect of dynamic electric double layer. This occurrence bears resemblance to the natural water transpiration in plants, thereby presenting a fresh and straightforward approach for producing electricity in an ecofriendly manner. The generator module demonstrated in this study, measuring 12 x 6 cm(2), exhibited a noteworthy open-circuit voltage of 0.35 V, coupled with a short-circuit current of 0.51 mA. Such low-cost ceramic wools are suitable for ubiquitous, permanent energy sources and hold potential for use as self-powered sensors and systems, eliminating the requirement for external energy sources such as sunlight or heat. Electrokinetic power generation through ceramic *** this work, microfibrous ceramic wools are being explored for electrokinetic power generation through water transpiration. The generator module measuring 12 x 6 cm(2), demonstrated a noteworthy open-circuit voltage of 0.35 V, coupled with a short-circuit current of 0.51 mA. This scalable ceramic wool device generates electricity without relying on sunlight or heat.

Data Transmission Delay in Medtronic Reveal LINQ<sup>TM</sup>Implantable Cardiac Monitor: Clinical Experience in 520 Patients

Background: The Implantable Cardiac Monitor (ICM) is an invaluable tool for detecting cardiac arrhythmias by providing physicians. Critical to the success of ICMs depends on how quickly and accurately the data can be transmitted to a physician’s office after an arrhythmic event. Then, the clinical event can be analyzed and the treatment will be provided accordingly. however, no reports have been published as to how efficiently the ICM data is transmitted. Methods: There is a retrospective review of 520 patients who received a Medtronic Reveal LINQTM between 2/01/2015 and 6/01/2017. The time from the arrhythmic event to the time of physician notification was calculated and reason for delay was noted. Results: One hundred and twenty patients out of 520 patients (23%) had arrhythmic events transmitted over a mean follow up of 14 ± 4 months. The mean time between cardiac events and physician notification was 15 ± 8 days. Sixty-three percent (63%) of data transmission delay (defined as >24 hours) was due to the MyCareLinkTM Monitor not being in proximity to the patient. Connection failure between the monitor and the network accounted for 34% of data transmission delay. Conclusion: Significant delay in data transmission from Medtronic Reveal LINQTM cardiac monitor occurs frequently impacting patient care. Newer generations of the implantable cardiac monitors utilize Bluetooth technology, enabling immediate transfer of data from ICM to a patient’s cellular phone and subsequently to their physician’s office. This technology could potentially improve efficiency and reliability eliminating the issues of proximity and connectivity.

Optimal Sprint Length Determination for Agile-Based Software Development

A carefully planned software development process helps in maintaining the quality of the *** today’s scenario the primitive software development models have been replaced by the Agile based models like SCRUM,KANBAN,LEAN,***,every framework has its own boon,the reason for widespread acceptance of the agile-based approach is its evolutionary nature that permits change in the path of software *** development process occurs in iterative and incremental cycles called *** SCRUM,which is one of the most widely used agile-based software development modeling framework;the sprint length is fixed throughout the process wherein;it is usually taken to be 1–4 *** in practical application,the sprint length should be altered intuitively as per the *** overcome this limitation,in this paper,a methodical work has been presented that determines the optimal sprint length based on two varied and yet connected attributes;the cost incurred and the work intensity *** approach defines the number of tasks performed in each sprint along with the corresponding cost incurred in performing those ***-attribute utility theory(MAUT),a multi-criterion decision making approach,has been utilized to find the required trade-off between two attributes under *** proposed modeling framework has been validated using real life data *** the use of the model,the optimal sprint for each sprint could be evaluated which was much shorter than the original ***,the results obtained validate the proposal of a dynamic sprint length that can be determined before the start of each *** structure would help in cost as well as time savings for a firm.

A segmental defect adaptation of the mouse closed femur fracture model for the analysis of severely impaired bone healing

Objective: To better characterize nonunion endochondral bone healing and evaluate novel therapeutic approaches for critical size defect healing in clinically challenging bone repair, a segmental defect model of bone injury was adapted from the threepoint bending closed fracture technique in the murine ***: The mouse femur was surgically stabilized with an intramedullary threaded rod with plastic spacers and the defect adjusted to different sizes. healing of the different defects was analyzed by radiology and histology to 8 weeks postsurgery. To determine whether this model was effective for evaluating the benefits of molecular therapy, BMP-2 was applied to the defect and healing then ***: Intramedullary spacers were effective in maintaining the defect. Callus bone formation was initiated but was arrested at defect sizes of 2.5 mm and above, with no more progress in callus bone development evident to 8 weeks healing. Cartilage development in a critical size defect attenuated very early in healing without bone development, in contrast to the closed femur fracture healing, where callus cartilage was replaced by bone. BMP-2 therapy promoted osteogenesis of the resident cells of the defect, but there was no further callus development to indicate that healing to pre-surgery bone structure was ***: This segmental defect adaptation of the closed femur fracture model of murine bone repair severely impairs callus development and bone healing, reflecting a challenging bone injury. It is adjustable and can be compared to the closed fracture model to ascertain healing deficiencies and the efficacy of therapeutic approaches.

Ultimate fate of halosulfuron methyl and its effects on enzymatic and microbial activities in three differently textured soils

halosulfuron methyl is a sulfonylurea herbicide used worldwide for weed control in sugarcane, maize, wheat, and rice production. Considering its environmental impact, this study evaluated the effects of soil type, application rate, and temperature on the dynamics of halosulfuron methyl ***, as soil microbes and enzymes are reliable indicators of the impacts of anthropogenic activities on soil health, the effects of halosulfuron methyl on soil enzymatic and microbial activities were also assessed. The half-life(DT50) of halosulfuron methyl varied from 9.38 to 33.77 d. Increase in temperature accelerated the degradation and DT50 varied from 14.39 to 33.77, 11.05 to 28.94, and 9.38 to 25.41 d at 5, 15, and 25?C, respectively. The metabolites of halosulfuron methyl, including halosulfuron, methyl 3-chloro-5-((4,6-dimethoxy-2-pyrimidinyl) amino)-1-methyl-1h-pyrazole-4-carboxylate,4,6-dimethoxy-2-pyrimidinamine, and methyl 3-chloro-1-methyl-5-sulfamoyl-1h-pyrazole-4-carboxylate, were detected in the studied soils, and their appearance and disappearance varied with application rate, soil type, and incubation temperature. halosulfuron methyl had transitory harmful effects on soil enzymatic and microbial activities depending on its application rate. The results suggest that the application rate of halosulfuron methyl, soil physicochemical parameters, and temperature should be considered together to ensure satisfactory weed control with reduced environmental risk.

Enhanced photocatalytic activity of electrochemically synthesized aluminum oxide nanoparticles

In this study, aluminum oxide （Al2O3） nanoparticles （NPs） were synthesized via an electrochemical method. The effects of reac- tion parameters such as supporting electrolytes, solvent, current and electrolysis time on the shape and size of the resulting NPs were investi- gated. The Al2O3 NPs were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis/differential thermal analysis, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. Moreover, the Al2O3 NPs were explored for photocatalytic degradation of malachite green （MG） dye under sunlight irradiation via two processes： ad- sorption followed by photocatalysis; coupled adsorption and photocatalysis. The coupled process exhibited a higher photodegradation effi- ciency （45%） compared to adsorption followed by photocatalysis （32%）. The obtained kinetic data was well fitted using a pseudo-first-order model for MG degradation.
