mineralogy and geochemistry of fine-grained Dahab stream sediments, Southeastern Sinai, Egypt: emphasis on the intergrowths of Fe–Ti oxides

mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of stream sediments collected from 30 stations in the Dahab-Wadi Kid area(southeastern Sinai,Egypt)are *** studied sediments contain considerable amounts of heavy minerals,including abundant Fe–Ti oxides,with up to 25.94%index figure that measures the relative abundance of heavy minerals to light *** of the sediments and nature of Fe–Ti oxide intergrowths,in addition to some non-opaque heavy minerals,indicate multiple provenances with contributions from a variety of Neoproterozoic mafic to felsic *** amounts of heavy minerals are derived from schists that belong to the so-called Wadi Kid volcanosedimentary *** to the considerable contribution of the felsic intrusions represented by within-plate granites,the sediments are enriched in REE-bearing minerals(e.g.,monazite,cerianite,la-cerianite and allanite),V-bearing thorite,zircon,and a ZrO_(2) *** majority of Fe–Ti oxides are derived from the mafic intrusions,and they show evidence of pre-,syn-and post-depositional phases of alteration and formation of *** to the geochemical signature of the bulk silt fraction,there is remarkable enrichment of LREEs with distinct negative Eu anomaly,and this supports dominance of a provenance dominated by felsic intrusions(i.e.,the A-type within-plate granite and associated pegmatites).Also,the felsic provenance is responsible for slight abnormality of ∑PU+Th content(up to~37 ppm)and few anomalous samples bear uraniferous zircon and Ce-type *** present paper sheds light on the fertility of the Dahab stream sediments in some economic minerals for possible future exploitation,not for gold only,but for potential REEbearing minerals that are needed for a wide spectrum of modern technological industries.

Alginate blended with cellulose nanocrystals(CNC),cellulose nanofibers(CNF),and tri-carboxylate cellulose nanofibers(TPC-CNF)prepared and encapsulated in the form of microcapsules(bio-polymeric beads).The cellulosic nanomaterials that used in this study were investigated as nanomaterials for wastewater treatment *** experiments were performed to study the removal of copper,lead,magnesium,and iron from aqueous solutions by the prepared *** effects of the sorbent dosage and the modified polymers on the removing efficiency of the metal cations were *** absorption was used to measure the metal ions *** modified bio-polymeric beads(Alg-CNF,Alg-CNC,and Alg-TPC-CNF)exhibited high-efficiency towards removing of the metal cations;Cu^(2+),Pb^(2+),mg^(2+),and Fe^(2+).The Alg-TPC-CNF composite was exhibited excellent removing efficiency which around 95%for Pb,92%for Cu,43%for Fe and 54%for *** outcomes affirm that the utilization of nanomaterials giving higher adsorption capacities contrasted with similar material in its micro or macrostructure form.

Studying the effect of formic acid and potassium diformate on performance,immunity and gut health of broiler chickens

Our trial was conducted to study the effects of formic acid(FA) and potassium di-formate(KDF) in broiler ration on performance, carcass traits, blood biochemical, intestinal microbial load, histological picture of intestine and immune parameters of broilers. In this study 360 one-day-old broiler chicks were divided to 3 groups with 3 replicates of 40 chicks each. The trial continued for 35 days. The control group was fed only basal diet(G1). Group 2(G2) were fed basal diet supplemented with FA(5 g/kg diet), and group 3(G3) received basal diet supplemented with KDF(5 g/kg diet). The results showed that both FA and KDF significantly increased body weight gain(BWG), dressing percentage of broilers and significantly decreased feed conversion ratio(FCR)(P he highest percent of breast and thigh was observed in G3. The improvement in villus height was observed in G2 and G3 compared with the control one, and the highest was in G3. The results evidence that the using of FA or KDF in broiler feeds have significant effects on performance, immune parameters, and gut health without having any significant effects on blood biochemical. however, KDF is more effective than FA as little amount of FA reaches the small intestine due to metabolism and absorption, whereas KDF permits a proportion of FA to pass through the fore-gut intact and enter the small intestinal tract. In addition, FA has a strong odor and corrosiveness to gastrointestinal tract which limits its use.

The sexually dimorphic expression of glutamate transporters and their implication in pain after spinal cord injury

Concentrations and sources of an emerging pollutant, decabromodiphenylethane (DBDPE), in sewage sludge for land application

The presence of an emerging brominated flame retardant, decabromodiphenylethane （DBDPE）, has been confirmed in Spanish sewage sludge. Thirty one samples from different urban wastewater treatment plants （WWTPs） were analyzed for this brominated flame retardant. DBDPE was positively identified and quantified in all samples at lower concentrations （47.0 ± 29.7 ng/g dry weight （dw）; mean ± SD） than those obtained for decabromodiphenyl ether （BDE-209）（290 ± 236 ng/g dw; mean ± SD） in a previous study. Influence of the WWTP characteristics in the pollutant levels was evaluated. No significant correlations were obtained between DBDPE concentrations and the population or sewage sludge production rate associated with the plants, neither wastewater treatment method. Sources of DBDPE in the sludge were also evaluated. Data indicate a common origin for DBDPE and BDE-209, which may be related to leaching processes during the use and disposal of consumer products containing these chemicals. Nevertheless, DBDPE contents are not influenced by industrial activities, which suggests that the infusion of DBDPE commercial mixture is not a source of this chemical into the environment, and indicates that the use of DBDPE in the Spanish industry is still low compared to deca-BDE.

Stellar structure model in hydrostatic equilibrium in the context of f(R)-gravity

In this work we present a stellar structure model from the f（R）-gravity point of view capable of describing some classes of stars（white dwarfs, brown dwarfs, neutron stars, red giants and the Sun）. This model is based on f（R）-gravity field equations for f（R） = R ＋ f2R2, hydrostatic equilibrium equation and a polytropic equation of state. We compare the results obtained with those found by Newtonian theory. It has been observed that in these systems, where high curvature regimes emerge,stellar structure equations undergo modifications. Despite the simplicity of this model, the results are satisfactory. The estimated values of pressure, density and temperature of the stars are within those determined by observations. This f（R）-gravity model has proved to be necessary to describe stars with strong fields such as white dwarfs, neutron stars and brown dwarfs, while stars with weaker fields, such as red giants and the Sun, are best described by Newtonian theory.

A Note on Tropical Triangles in the Plane

We define transversal tropical triangles （affine and projective） and characterize them via six inequalities to be satisfied by the coordinates of the vertices. We prove that the vertices of a transversal tropical triangle are tropically independent and they tropically span a classical hexagon whose sides have slopes ∞, 0, 1. Using this classical hexagon, we determine a parameter space for transversal tropical triangles. The coordinates of the vertices of a transversal tropical triangle determine a tropically regular matrix. Triangulations of the tropical plane are obtained.

metabolic syndrome(meS)is a major health problem associated with the high prevalence of obesity,diabetes,hypertension and *** serrata resin(BS)is an old remedy reputed by its rich antioxidant *** present research aimed to assess the impact of microencapsulated BS if given in combination with probiotic bacteria(BAC)(lactobacillus plantarum and lactobacillus rhamnosus)which had anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities to control the metabolic disorders associated with *** extract of BS was prepared,total phenolic,total antioxidants and hPLC were *** extract was microencapsulated by spray drier and the microcapsules were *** were suspended in mRS,cultivated and microencapsulated by freeze *** were randomly assigned to 5 groups(8/gp).The 1st group was negative control receiving basic diet(C),the 2nd group was positive control fed on hFD,the 3rd group was fed on hFD+BS(400 mg/kg),the 4th group was fed on hFD+BAC(1 ml containing 1011 CFU),the 5th group was fed on hFD+BS+*** 8 weeks animals were sacrificed,the collected serum was analyzed for different biochemical *** body organs and body fat weights were estimated and histopathological and immunohistochemical examinations were *** showed the ability of BS in controlling most of the parameters related to meS and improvement of histopathology findings in *** and BAC acted in synergy in this *** conclusion,microencapsulated BS or its combination with Probiotic bacteria may control meS and both acted as symbiotic in augmenting the improvement of meS intact model.
