Background:Exercise training promotes brain plasticity and is associated with protection against cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease(AD).These beneficial effects may be partly mediated by blood-borne *** we used an in vitro model of AD to investigate effects of blood plasma from exercise-trained donors on neuronal viability,and an in vivo rat model of AD to test whether such plasma impacts cognitive function,amyloid pathology,and ***:Mouse hippocampal neuronal cells were exposed to AD-like stress using amyloid-βand treated with plasma collected from human male donors 3 h after a single bout of high-intensity *** in vivo studies,blood was collected from exercise-trained young male Wistar rats(high-intensity intervals 5 days/week for 6 weeks).Transgenic AD rats(McGill-R-Thyl-APP)were inj ected 5 times/fortnight for 6 weeks at2 months or 5 months of age with either(a)plasma from the exercise-trained rats,(b)plasma from sedentary rats,or(c)*** function,amyloid plaque pathology,and neurogenesis were *** plasma used for the treatment was analyzed for 23 ***:Plasma from exercised donors enhanced cell viability by 44.1%(p=0.032)and reduced atrophy by 50.0%(phology but did increase hippocampal neurogenesis by~3 fold,regardless of pathological stage,when compared to saline-treated *** of 7 cytokines were significantly reduced in exercised plasma compared to sedentary ***:Our proof-of-concept study demonstrates that plasma from exercise-trained donors can protect neuronal cells in culture and promote adult hippocampal neurogenesis in the AD rat *** effect may be partly due to reduced pro-inflammatory signaling molecules in exercised plasma.

Influence of barley inclusion method and protease supplementation on growth performance,nutrient utilisation,and gastrointestinal tract development in broiler starters

The influence of the method of barley inclusion(fine,coarse and whole barley)in a wheat-based diet and protease supplementation(0 and 0.20 g/kg)on growth performance,nutrient utilisation and gastrointestinal tract development of broilers(d 1 to 21)was evaluated in a 32 factorial *** barley(WB)grains were ground in a hammer mill to pass through the screen sizes of 2.5 and 8.0 mm to achieve fine(FB)and coarse(CB)barley particle sizes,respectively.A total of 288,one-day-old male broilers were allotted to 36 cages(6 cages/treatment;8 birds/cage).There was no significant(P>0.05)interaction between barley inclusion method and protease for any growth performance or nutrient utilisation *** fed diets containing CB and WB showed higher(Pht gain,and digestibility of dry matter,nitrogen,calcium,gross energy,and ileal digestible energy compared to those fed FB *** to the birds fed FB diets,feed per gain was lower(Phe birds fed CB was higher(Phan those fed FB and WB *** to FB and CB diets,inclusion of WB resulted in heavier(Phowever,had no effects(P>0.05)on growth performance and nutrient utilisation,most likely due to the well balanced digestible amino acids and high inherent digestibility of protein in the basal diet,and/or the presence of exogenous carbohydrase and *** conclusion,the present results showed that the inclusion of coarsely ground and whole barley in a wheat-based diet can enhance nutrient and energy utilisation and is beneficial to the growth performance of young broilers.

This paper reports our experience with a new overthe-scope clip in the setting of recurrent bleeding and oesophageal fistula. We treated five patients with the over-the-scope Padlock Clip?. It is a nitinol ring, with six inner needles preassembled on an applicator cap, thumb press displaced by the Lock-It? delivery system. The trigger wire is located alongside the shaft of the endoscope, and does not require the working channel. Three patients had recurrent bleeding lesions(bleeding rectal ulcer, post polypectomy delayed bleeding and duodenal Dieulafoy's lesion) and two patients had a persistent respiratory-esophageal fistula. In all patients a previous endoscopic attempt with standard techniques had been useless. All procedures were conducted under conscious sedation but for one patient that required general anaesthesia due to multiple comorbidities. We used one Padlock Clip? for each patient in a single session. Simple suction was enough in all of our patients to obtain tissue adhesion to the instrument tip. A remarkably short application time was recorded for all cases(mean duration of the procedure: 8 min). We obtained technical and immediate clinical success for every patient. No major immediate, early or late(within 24 h, 7 d or 4 wk) adverse events were observed, over follow-up durations lasting a mean of 109.4 d. One patient, treated for duodenal bulb bleeding from a Dieulafoy's lesion, developed signs of mild pancreatitis 24 h after the procedure. The new over-the-scope Padlock Clip? seems to be simple to use and effective in different clinical settings, particularly in "difficult" scenarios, like recurrent bleeding and respiratory-oesophageal fistulas.

目的研究加拿大安大略癌症治疗中心(CCO)关于早期乳腺癌最佳辅助化疗方案,包括人类表皮生长因子受体2(hER2)阳性乳腺癌辅助靶向治疗方案,并对其进行改编。方法按照美国临床肿瘤协会(ASCO)对其他组织临床实践指南改编的策略和程序,对CCO临床实践指南的严谨性与内容适用性进行回顾。结果基于对CCO临床实践指南内容的回顾,ASCO小组认为,CCO临床实践指南在整体上清晰全面,以最确切的科学证据为基础,为患者提供可接受的治疗选项。推荐关于辅助化疗方案的决定,应考虑到基线复发风险、毒性、利益可能性和宿主因素(如合并症)。对于高风险hER2阴性的身体状况良好的人群,蒽环类和紫杉烷治疗方案是标准治疗方案。4个周期的多西他赛和环磷酰胺治疗方案是可接受的非蒽环类治疗方案。对于高风险hER2阳性患者,推荐蒽环类与紫杉烷序贯疗法联合曲妥单抗或多西他赛、卡铂、曲妥单抗进行6个周期的治疗。对于低风险、非淋巴结转移、hER2阳性人群,推荐每周一次的紫杉醇和曲妥单抗连续进行12个周期的替代治疗。曲妥单抗应持续使用1年。不应采用铂复合盐对三阴性人群进行常规的辅助管理,除非出现有效的生存数据加以支持。

In this study,an alternative precursor for production of activated carbon was introduced using dragon fruit(hylocereus costaricensis)peel(DFP).Moreover,KOh was used as a chemical activator in the thermal carbonization process to convert DFP into activated carbon(DFPAC).In order to accomplish this research,several approaches were employed to examine the elemental composition,surface properties,amorphous and crystalline nature,essential active group,and surface morphology of the *** BrunauerEmmettTeller test demonstrated a mesoporous structure of the DFPAC has a high surface area of 756.3 m2g *** cationic dye Methylene Blue(MB)was used as a probe to assess the efficiency of DFPAC towards the removal of MB dye from aqueous *** effects of adsorption input factors(*** dose(A:0.040.12 g L 1),ph(B:310),and temperature(C:3050℃))were investigated and optimized using statistical analysis(*** design(BBD)).The adsorption kinetic model can be best categorized as the pseudofirst order(PFO).Whereas,the adsorption isotherm model can be best described by Langmuir model,with maximum adsorption capacity of DFPAC for MB dye was 195.2 mg g 1 at 50℃.The adsorption mechanism of MB by DFPAC surface was attributed to the electrostatic interaction,pp interaction,and ***,the results support the ability of DFP to be a promising precursor for production of highly porous activated carbon suitable for removal of cationic dyes(***).
