Welfare and Market Impacts of Food safety Measures in China: Results from Urban Consumers' Valuation of Product Attributes

This study provides an economics assessment of various food safety measures in China. A choice experiment approach is used to elicit Chinese consumer preferences for various food safety attributes using data from a 2008 urban consumer survey. An alternative welfare calculation is used to model aggregate market impacts of select food safety measures. Our results show that the largest welfare gains are found in the current government-run certiifcation program. The implementation of a third-party certiifcation system, a traceability network and a product label would generate signiifcant value and would help reduce current system inefifciencies in China. This study builds on previous research and provides an alternative approach for calculating consumer valuation of safety and quality attributes that can be used to estimate aggregate economic and welfare impacts.

Neighborhoods and urban contexts are full of potential hidden inside them in an intangible form and can be used for their development and sustainability. Therefore, studying, discovering, and using them can help revive worn and historical textures. These mental factors include things not in the city’s outward appearance but in its heart and memory. The mindscape of the city includes everything that has meaning for its residents. Collective memories lead to strengthening their sense of belonging. The sense of belonging and collective memory is one factor that promotes social participation in the neighborhood and urban contexts. social involvement is an efficient factor in facilitating neighborhood management, attracting investment, and helping environmental issues. Finally, it plays an influential role in sustaining life in urban contexts. Despite the plans that have been made to promote the sense of collective memory and increase the sense of belonging to the place, Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood has yet to achieve its growth and prosperity as in the past. Therefore, this paper focuses on studying how mindscape can help the sustainability and development of cities. The research method in this paper is based on document study, the review of documents related to prominent research in the fields of objective landscape,place identity, sense of place, and surface, and was carried out by descriptive-analytical research method. The method of collecting information is in two forms: documentary and field. Field information will be collected through two questionnaires(see Appendices A and B) from residents and experts. The effect of synthesized nanostructures,including graphene oxide,chemically reduced graphene oxide with sodium dodecyl sulfate(sDs),chemically reduced graphene oxide with polyvinylpyrrolidone,and multi-walled carbon nanotubes,on the kinetics of methane hydrate formation was investigated in this *** experiments were carried out at a pressure of 4.5 MPa and a temperature of 0 ℃ in a batch *** adding nanostructures,the induction time decreases,and the shortest induction time appeares at certain concentrations of reduced graphene oxide with sDs and graphene oxide,that is,at a concentration of 360 ppm for reduced graphene oxide with sDs and 180 ppm for graphene oxide,with a 98% decrease in induction time compared to that in pure ***,utilization of carbon nanostructures increases the amount and the rate of methane consumed during the hydrate formation *** of multi-walled carbon nanotubes with a concentration of 90 ppm showes the highest amount of methane *** amount of methane consumption increases by 173% in comparison with that in pure *** addition of carbon nanostructures does not change the storage capacity of methane hydrate in the hydrate formation process,while the percentage of water conversion to hydrate in the presence of carbon nanotubes increases considerably,the greatest value of which occurres at a 90 ppm concentration of carbon nanotubes,that is,a 253% increase in the presence of carbon nanotubes compared to that of pure water.

The ground state properties of 132sn at equilibrium and at large compression are investigated,within the framework of the radially constrained spherical hartree-Fock(CshF)*** delta resonance effects on the properties of neutron-rich double magic spherical nucleus,132sn,in its ground state and the state under static compression are *** sensitivity of the nucleon size and Δ model spaces is *** equilibrium,mixing between nucleon and Δ's in the largest model space of nine major nucleon shells plus 10 Δ orbitals was *** the nucleon model space has a larger effect on reducing the static compression modulus and softe-ning the nuclear equation of state than increasing the number of Δ *** was found that the most of the increase in the nuclear energy generated under compression is used to create the massive Δ *** 132sn nucleus under compression at 12 times the normal nuclear density,the excited nucleons to Δ's increased sharply up to 13% of the total number of *** result is consistent with the values extracted from relativistic heavy-ion *** single particle energy levels calculated and their behaviors under compression are examined too.A good agreement between results with effective hamiltonian and the phenomenological shell model for the low lying single-particle spectra is obtained.

Experiments were carried out to investigate the possible use of neutron backscattering for the detection of polyethylene (PE) sample buried in the soil. In detection of landmine by neutrons, the neutron detector and its shield play an important role. In this paper, the effects of graphite, heavy water, polyethylene and boric acid moderators on the flux of back scattered neutrons were investigated. We have also experimentally verified the effect of BF3 detector shield and obtained good agreement with theory.

This paper reports the continuous wave （CW） and Q-switched operation of a diode pumped KGd （WO4）： Nd （Nd：KGW） slab laser with a comer pumped geometry at the wavelength of 1067 nm. With an optical conversion efficiency of 38% and 34%, average powers of 23 and 20 W in CW and Q-switched modes were achieved respec- tively. The maximum pulse energy of 27 mJ was observed with a repetition rate of 840 hz.
