Present status of aquaculture and the challenge of bacterial diseases in freshwater farmed fish in tanzania;A call for sustainable strategies

Aquaculture provides significant contributions to household food security,as the capture of wild fish from lakes,dams,and oceans do not meet the current demand for animal protein in *** aquaculture requires well-established regulatory systems and extension services for good pond management practices and maintaining fish health by fish *** farming is practiced widely in tanzania,from small-to large-scale ponds and these farming systems are moving from extensive normal operations(low input demand)to intensive farming(high input demand).however,the industry is largely still operating at a subsistence level with low *** infections have been occurring in these fish farms and will continue to be an issue of concern into the *** review highlights the current challenges,successes,and prospects towards a sustainable aquaculture industry in tanzania,including:limited extension services mirroring the limited knowledge by farmers regarding pond management practices;the inadequacy of funds to carry out fish disease research or implement a surveillance system;little expertise in fish disease diagnosis and treatment;and poor management *** minimize disease outbreaks and optimize production in the future,we suggest a strengthening of extension services,augmented with on-farm knowledge *** should be on pond management practices and fish disease management;the creation of a well-functioning fish disease surveillance system;and strengthening collaborative research on aquaculture between the government research institutions and *** small cooperative fish farmer groups within the Aquaculture Association of tanzania(AAt)for easy access to information is also recommended.

non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(nAFLD),the most common chronic liver disorder in Western countries,comprises steatosis to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(nASh),with the latter having the potential to progress to *** transition from isolated steatosis to nASh is still poorly understood,but lipidomics approach revealed that the hepatic lipidome is extensively altered in the setting of steatosis and steatohepatitis and these alterations correlate with disease *** data suggest that both quantity and quality of the accumulated lipids are involved in pathogenesis of *** in glycerophospholipid,sphingolipid,and fatty acid composition have been described in both liver biopsies and plasma of patients with nAFLD,implicating that specific lipid species are involved in oxidative stress,inflammation,and cell *** this article,we summarize the findings of main human lipidomics studies in nAFLD and delineate the currently available information on the pathogenetic role of each lipid class in lipotoxicity and disease progression.

Effects of Welding Procedure on Corrosion Resistance and hydrogen Embrittlement of Supermartensitic Stainless Steel Deposits

the effects of shielding gas and post weld heat treatment on the pitting resistance, stress corrosion crack- ing and hydrogen embrittlement of supermartensitic stainless steel deposits were studied. two all-weld-metal test coupons were prepared using a metal-cored wire under Ar＋ 5% he and Ar＋18%CO2 gas shielding mixtures. Solubi- lizing and solubilizing plus double tempering heat treatments were done with the objective of achieving different mi crostructural results, the samples welded under Ar＋5% he showed higher pitting corrosion resistance, for all post weld heat treatments, than those welded under Ar＋18% CO2. the different post weld heat treatments generated higher susceptibility to this corrosion mechanism. none of the samples presented signs of stress corrosion cracking, but in those subjected to the heat treatment, grain boundary selective attack was observed, on the surfaces of all the samples studied. the samples with highest hardness were more susceptible to hydrogen damage, thereby leading to reduced tensile strength on this condition.

this paper analyses the impact of geopolitical risks and economic policy uncertainty on stock *** uses an unbalanced panel dataset of monthly observations for 22 countries for the period 1985–*** controls for a set of macroeconomic and market structure variables while also taking into consideration the poten-tial effects of the 2007–2009 financial *** paper shows that the impact of geopolitical risks is negative and statistically *** economic interpretation of our main results is that a one-unit standard deviation increase in geopolitical risks decreases stock returns by 10.53–42.14%of its sample *** comparison,this paper uses alternatively the global economic policy uncertainty index and the economic policy uncertainty country index,and also finds a statistically significant negative relationship although it is weaker in the latter case.

Supposing carbon contents of ferrite phases in pearlite precipitating from austenite in multicomponent steel at temperature t and in Fe-C ystem at t' are the same the pearlite formation temperature diference, can be calculated from the FeX phase diagrams and the equilibrium temperature Al. Using tp and Fe-C binary thermodynamic model, the driving forces for phase transformation from austenite to pearlite in multicomponent steels have been successfully calculated. through the combination of simplified Zener and hillert's model for pearlite growth with Johnson-Mehl equation, using data from known ttt diagrams, the interfacial energy parameter and activation energy for pearlite formation can be determined and expressed as functions of chemical composition in steels by regression analysis. the calculated starting curves of pearlitic transformation in some commercial steels agree well with the experimental data.

numerous scientific challenges arise when designing a soil monitoring network (SMn), especially when assessing large areas and several properties that are driven by numerous controlling factors of various origins and scales. Different broad approaches to the establishment of SMns are distinguished. It is essential to establish an adequate sampling protocol that can be applied rigorously at each sampling location and time. We make recommendations regarding the within-site sampling of soil. Different statistical methods should be associated with the different types of sampling design. We review new statistical methods that account for different sources of uncertainty. Except for those parameters for which a consensus exists, the question of testing method harmonisation remains a very difficult issue. the establishment of benchmark sites devoted to harmonisation and inter-calibration is advocated as a technical solution. however, to our present knowledge, no study has addressed crucial scientific issues such as how many calibration sites are necessary and how to locate them.
