The present work deals with the integration of remote-sensing,surface-geology and gravity-survey data to improve the structural knowledge of the Tarhunah area,northwest *** information and remote-sensing data provided information about the surface structure.A gravity survey was conducted to decipher the subsurface *** results revealed that a basin having a width of 39 to 48 km trends NE.A two-dimensional(2-D)schematic model shows that the basin gradually deepens toward the *** determined from a horizontal gradient,tilt derivative,and Euler deconvolution show a depth range of 2.5 to 7.5 *** integration and interpretation of the results indicate that volcanic activity was related to the tectonic activity of an anticlinal structure called the Jabal Uplift.

Objective:To obtain the prevalence with clinical symptoms of Cyclospora cayetanensis(***),a coceidian protozoan parasite,in Thailand which is the cause of an intestinal infection characterized by sporadic-to-frequent explosive ***:In a field surveyconducted by the Faculty of Tropical *** *** part of the existing parasite-control program,a total of 2 540 faecal samples from villagers in Nan Province,Thailand,were collected and examined to determine the prevalence and clinical characteristics of parasitic ***:Twelve cases of *** infection were found duritig faecal examination of schoolchildren aged 5-12 *** exhibited obvious clinical symptoms,especially evidence of diarrhea:5 of 12 had loose faeces,one reported frequent symptoms of abdominal discomfort,and another had pale conjunctiva with low *** children were generally ***:This finding confirms a public-health issue with potentially serious consequences whereby children can be exposed to an environment contaminated with food-und water-borne transmitted oocysts,anil can hence become infected with ***.

Background:Mass drug administration of praziquantel is the World health Organization’s endorsed control strategy for schistosomiasis.A decade of annual treatments across sub-Saharan Africa has resulted in significant reductions of infection prevalence and intensity levels,although‘hotspots’*** drug treatments place strong selective pressures on parasites,which may affect life-history traits that impact transmission *** drug treatment responses and the evolution of such traits can help inform on how to minimise the risk of drug resistance developing,maximise sustainable control programme success,and improve diagnostic ***:We performed a four-generation Schistosoma mansoni praziquantel selection experiment in mice and *** used three *** lines:a praziquantel-resistant isolate(R),a praziquantel-susceptible isolate(S),and a coinfected line(RS),under three treatment regimens:untreated,25 mg/kg praziquantel,or 50 mg/kg *** traits,including parasite adult-worm establishment,survival,reproduction(fecundity),and associated morbidity,were recorded in mice across all four *** variables were tested in a series of generalized linear mixed effects models to determine which factors had a significant influence on parasite life-history traits in definitive hosts under different selection ***:Praziquantel pressure significantly reduced adult-worm burdens across all generations and isolates,including within ***,previous drug treatment resulted in an increase in adult-worm establishment with increasing generation from P1 to *** highest worm numbers were in the co-infected RS *** treatment decreased adult-worm burden,but had a larger negative impact on the mean daily number of miracidia,a proxy for fecundity,across all three parasite ***:Our predicted cost of resistance was not supported by the traits we measured within the murine host.

The past decade witnessed rapid development of constraint satisfaction technologies, where algorithms are now able to cope with larger and harder problems. however, owing to the fact that constraints are inherently declarative, attention is quickly turning toward developing high-level programming languages within which such problems can be modeled and also solved. Along these lines, this paper presents DEPICT, the language. Its use is illustrated through modeling a number of benchmark examples. The paper continues with a description of a prototype system within which such models may be interpreted. The paper concludes with a description of a sample run of this interpreter showing how a problem modeled as such is typically solved.

AIM:To develop a panel of blood-based diagnostic biomarkers consisting of circulating microRNAs for the detection of pancreatic cancer at an early ***:Blood-based circulating microRNAs were profiled by high throughput screening using microarray analysis,comparing differential expression between early stage pancreatic cancer patients(n = 8) and healthy controls(n = 11).A panel of candidate microRNAs was generated based on the microarray signature profiling,including unsupervised clustering and statistical analysis of differential expression levels,and findings from the published *** selected candidate microRNAs were then confirmed using TaqMan real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR) to further narrow down to a three-microRNA diagnostic *** three-microRNA diagnostic panel was validated with independent experimental proce-dures and instrumentation of RT-qPCR at an independent venue with a new cohort of cancer patients(n = 11),healthy controls(n = 11),and a group of high risk controls(n = 11).Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was performed to assess the diagnostic capability of the three-microRNA ***:In the initial high throughput screening,1220 known human microRNAs were screened for differential expression in pancreatic cancer patients versus controls.A subset of 42 microRNAs was then generated based on this data analysis and current published *** microRNAs were selected from the list of 42 targets for confirmation study,and three-microRNAs,miR-642b,miR-885-5p,and miR-22,were confirmed to show consistent expression between microarray and *** three microRNAs were then validated and evaluated as a diagnostic panel with a new cohort of patients and controls and found to yield high sensitivity(91%) and specificity(91%) with an area under the curve of 0.97(P he CA19-9 marker at 73%,the three-microRNA panel has higher sensitivity although

We analyzed the relationship between several basic parameters describing supermassive black holes such as jet power,black hole spin,accretion disk magnetic field,black hole mass,*** found that there is a general correlation between these parameters,such as jet power is significantly positively correlated with black hole spin,while black hole mass is significantly negatively correlated with black hole *** apprehend these relationships,we consider the Blandford–Znajek model to be superior to the Blandford–Payne *** is also found that the intrinsic gamma luminosity of the FSRQs has a positive correlation with the accretion disk magnetic field,while the intrinsic gamma luminosity of the BL Lacs has a negative correlation with the accretion disk magnetic field.A feedback effect may exist between accretion disk accretion rate and magnetic field,which may be the key to the evolution between BL Lacs and *** is no significant difference in the jet power and jet generation efficiency of FSRQs and BL Lacs,which suggests that the jets are generated by the same *** contribution rate of accretion rate to jet generation efficiency is high,while the contribution rate of accretion rate to jet power is very low.

A generic numerical model of a long-wavelength Avalanche Photodiode （APD） based on narrow bandgap semiconductor InAsSb on InAs substrate is reported for the first time. This model has been applied for theoretical characterization of a proposed N^＋ InAS/P-InAsSb avalanche photodiode structure for possible application in 2-5 μm wavelength region. The parameters such as gain, excess noise factor and their trade-off with variation of doping concentration and bias voltage have been estimated for the APD taking into account history-dependent theory of avalanche multiplication process, The LWIR APD is expected to fred application in optical gas sensor and in future generation of optical communication system.

Chemically prepared electrolytic 2-Mn02 and an electrodeposited MnO2 doped with Ce(Ⅲ) were subjected to physicochemical studies. X-ray diffractometry, density measurements, chem-ical analysis and thermal analysis were used to determine the structure and chemical disorder present. The samples prepared chemically (CMD) or electrochemically (EMD) showed a variable amount of de Wolff disorder (Pr) and microtwinning (Tw). Manganese dioxide prepared in the presence of Ce(Ⅲ) showed appreciable decrease in de Wolff defect and a large amount of microtwinning. Thermal analysis showed a loss of weight due to the physically adsorbed and the structural (Oh) water, from which the activation energy was calculated. Chemical composition and formulae calculated on the bases of cation vacancy model, cleared that Ce(lIl)-doped sample has a remarkable increase in the vacancies population associated with higher structural water content. This leads to lower activation energy of water release, and consequently it is supposed to acquire higher electrochemical activity.
