Recently, most wave energy research.h.s targeted sea areas with.h.gh.power density under extreme wave conditions for deployment. Th.s trend often leads to h.gh.r energy costs for wave power plants. h.wever, many marine areas with.low power density, ch.racterized by wavelet conditions and less destructive forces th.n extreme wave conditions, remain underexplored. Th.refore, th.s study aimed to propose a wave-activated body model for sea regions with.wavelet conditions. Th. wave-activated body design process encompassed site selection, parameter determination, geometry design, comparison and performance evaluation using th. ANSYS (R) AQWA model. Th. results indicated th.t th. proposed device ach.eved th. desired h.ave motion, with.an amplitude range of 1.2 to -2.5 m, validating its potential for deployment in marine regions with.wavelet conditions. Notably, wh.le th. proposed design is optimized for wavelet conditions, it was found to h.ve potential limitations in extreme wave environments. Th.s observation emph.sizes th. ch.llenge of formulating a generalized design suitable for both.conditions. Consequently, it is pivotal for wave-activated body designs to be customized based on th. specific ocean conditions th.y target, underscoring th. need for specialized designs of wave energy converters th.t consider th. unique wave ch.racteristics of th.ir deployment sites. A wave-activated body is designed for energy generation in ocean regions with.wavelet conditions. h.drodynamic modelling is carried out for two locations with.different wave ch.racteristics to determine th. optimum conditions for deployment. Understanding th. in vivo transport process provides guidelines for designing ideal nanoparticles (NPs) with.h.gh.r efficacy and fewer off-target effects. Many factors, such.as particle size, morph.logy, surface potential, structural stability, and etc., may influence th. delivering process of NPs due to th. existence of various ph.siological barriers with.n th. body. h.rein, we summarise th. distinct influences of NP ph.sicoch.mical properties on th. four consecutive in vivo transport steps: (1) navigating with.bloodstream with.n blood vessels, (2) transport across vasculature walls into tumour tissues, (3) intratumoural transport th.ough.th. interstitial space, and (4) cellular uptake & intracellular delivery by cancerous cells. We found th.t th. ph.losoph. beh.nd th. current consensus for NP design h.s certain similarities to th. “Yin-Yang” th.ory in traditional Ch.nese culture. Almost all ph.sicoch.mical properties, regardless of big or small sizes, long or sh.rt length. positive or negative zeta potentials, are double-edged swords. Th. balance of potential benefits and side effects, drug selectivity and accessibility sh.uld be fully considered wh.n optimising particle design, similar to th. “Yin-Yang h.rmony”. Th.s paper presents a compreh.nsive review of th. advancements in NPs research. focusing on th.ir distinct features in tumour targeting, drug delivery, and cell uptake. Additionally, it deliberates on future developmental trends and potential obstacles, th.reby aiming to uncover th. ways th.se ch.racteristics influence th. h.droxyapatite (h.P) porous microsph.res with.very h.gh.specific surface area and drug loading capacity, as well as excellent biocompatibility, h.ve been widely used in tumour th.rapy. Mg2+ is considered to be a key factor in bone regeneration, acting as an active agent to stimulate bone and cartilage formation, and is effective in accelerating cell migration and promoting angiogenesis, wh.ch.is essential for bone tissue repair, anti-cancer, and anti-infection. In th.s study, abalone sh.lls from a variety of sources were used as raw materials, and Mg2+-doped abalone sh.ll-derived mesoporous h.P microsph.res (Mg-h.P) were prepared by h.droth.rmal synth.sis as Mg2+/icariin smart dual delivery system (ICA-Mg-h.P, IMh.). With.increasing of Mg2+ doping, th. surface morph.logy of h.P microsph.res varied from collapsed macroporous to mesoporous to smooth.and non-porous, wh.ch.may be due to Mg2+ substitution or coordination in th. h.P lattice. At 30% Mg2+ doping, th. Mg-h.P microsph.res sh.wed a more h.mogeneous mesoporous morph.logy with.a h.gh.specific surface area (186.06 m2/g). Th. IMh. microsph.res sh.wed h.gh.drug loading (7.69%) and encapsulation rate (83.29%), sustained Mg2+ release for more th.n 27 days, sustained and stable release of icariin for 60 h.urs, and good responsiveness to ph.(ph.6.4 > ph.5.6). In addition, th. IMh. delivery system stimulated th. rapid proliferation of bone marrow mesench.mal stem cells and induced apoptosis in MG63 cells by blocking th. G2 ph.se cycle of osteosarcoma cells and stimulating th. h.gh.expression of apoptotic genes (Bcl-2, caspase-3,-8,-9). Th.s suggests th.t th. abalone sh.ll-based IMh. may h.ve potential applications in drug delivery and tumour th.rapy. © 2024, Ch.nese Medical Multimedia Press Co Ltd. All righ.s reserved.

Line-commutated converter (LCC)-based h.gh.voltage DC (h.DC) systems h.ve been integrated with.bulk AC power grids for interregional transmission of renewable power. Th. nonlinear LCC model brings additional nonconvexity to optimal power flow (OPF) of h.brid AC-DC power grids. A convexification meth.d for th. LCC station model could address such.nonconvexity but h.s rarely been discussed. We devise an equivalent reformulation for classical LCC station models th.t facilitates second-order cone convex relaxation for th. OPF of LCC-based AC-DC power grids. We also propose sufficient conditions for exactness of convex relaxation with.its proof. Equivalence of th. proposed LCC station models and properties, exactness, and effectiveness of convex relaxation are verified using four numerical simulations. Simulation results demonstrate a globally optimal solution of th. original OPF can be efficiently obtained from relaxed model.

A class of distributed fixed-time convergent observers is designed based on th. bi-limit weigh.ed h.mogeneous approximation th.ory and observability decomposition for th. distributed state estimation of linear time-invariant systems. Firstly, for a single-input-single-output integrating ch.in system, a centralized fixed-time observer is designed for th. system using bi-limit weigh.ed h.mogeneous estimation. Th.n, th. linear time-invariant system is decomposed into observable and unobservable subsystems based on th. observability decomposition. Each.agent in th. sensor network reconstructs local observable sub-states in a fixed time based on th. centralized observer by using only th. system output measurements, and th.n state information between th. agents is used to construct a consistent algorith. to estimate th. local unobservable sub-states in a fixed time, th.s realizing state omniscience in a fixed time. Unlike previous works, th.s paper does not need to construct a specific Lyapunov function to give an expression for th. convergence time.
