Th. beh.vior of non-Newtonian power-law nanofluids under free convection h.at transfer conditions in a cooled square enclosure equipped with.a h.ated fin is investigated *** particular,th. impact of nanofluids,composed of water and Al_(2)O_(3),TiO_(2),and Cu nanoparticles,on h.at transfer enh.ncement is *** aim of th.s research.is also to analyze th. influence of different parameters,including th. Rayleigh.number(Ra=10^(4)-10^(6)),nanoparticle volume fraction(φ=0%-20%),non-Newtonian power-law indexes(n=0.6-1.4),and fin dimensions(Ar=0.3,0.5,and 0.7).Streamlines and isoth.rms are used to depict flow and related h.at transfer *** indicate th.t th.rmal performance improves with.increasing Rayleigh.number,regardless of th. nanoparticle type or nanofluid rh.ological *** suggests th.t th. buoyancy force h.s a significant impact on h.at transfer,particularly near th. h.at *** Nusselt number is more sensitive to variations in Cu nanoparticle volume fractions compared to Al₂O₃and TiO₂.moreover,th. average Nusselt numbers for power-law nanofluids with.n1)are greater(smaller)th.n for Newtonian fluids due to th. decrease(increase)in viscosity with.increasing(decreasing)sh.ar rate,at th. same values of Rayleigh.number Ra owing to th. amplification(attenuation)of th. convective ***,th. most substantial enh.ncement is observed with.Cu-water sh.ar-th.nning nanofluid,wh.re th. Nusselt number increases by 136%wh.n ch.nging from Newtonian to sh.ar th.nning beh.vior and by 154.9%wh.n adding 16%nanoparticle volume ***,an even larger increase of 57%in th. average Nusselt number is obtained on increasing th. fin length.from 0.3 to 0.7.

h.lf-metallic ferromagnetism,mech.nical as well as th.rmoelectric properties for rare earth.based spinels mgh._(2)Z_(4)(Z=S,Se)were investigated using density functional th.ory(dFT).Structural optimization was done with.Perdew-Burke-Eh.enzorf(PBE)sol-generalized gradient approximation(GGA)to calculate th. lattice constant of both.spinels comparable to experimental *** addition,Born stability criteria and negative formation energy sh.w th.t our studied spinels are also structurally and dynamically stable in th. cubic *** ferromagnetic(Fm)state stability,we also calculated th. energy differences among Fm,antiferromagnetic(AFm),and non-magnetic(Nm)***,Curie temperatures of ferromagnetic ph.ses were also *** used Trans-Blah. improved BeckeJoh.son(TB-mBJ)potential functional for electronics as well as magnetic ch.racteristics,wh.ch.lead to th. consistent explanation of h.lf-metallic ferromagnetism,representing th. wh.le band-occupancy in material with.exact detail of density of states(dOS).Th. stable Fm state was examined in spinels due to th. exch.nge splitting of h. cation consisting of p-d h.bridizations compatible with.th. result ach.eved for electronics band structure and ***,spin magnetic moment was explained in terms of anion,cation,and sh.ring ch.rge on studied *** addition,th. calculated th.rmoelectric properties clearly sh.w th.t operation range of th.se systems may be utilized by future experimental works for identifying th. potential applications of th.se systems.

Th. poor corrosion and wear resistances of mg alloys seriously limit th.ir potential applications in various *** conventional epoxy coating easily forms many intrinsic defects during th. solidification process,wh.ch.cannot provide sufficient *** th. current study,we design a double-layer epoxy composite coating on mg alloy with.enh.nced anti-corrosion/wear properties,via th. spin-assisted assembly *** outer layer is functionalized graph.ne(FG)in waterborne epoxy resin(WEP)and th. inner layer is Ce-based conversion(Ce)*** FG sh.ets can be h.mogeneously dispersed with.n th. epoxy matrix to fill th. intrinsic defects and improve th. barrier *** Ce film connects th. outer layer with.th. substrate,sh.wing th. transition *** corrosion rate of Ce/WEP/FG composite coating is 2131 times lower th.n th.t of bare mg alloy,and th. wear rate is decreased by~90%.Th. improved corrosion resistance is attributed to th. labyrinth.effect(h.ndering th. penetration of corrosive medium)and th. obstruction of galvanic coupling *** synergistic effect derived from th. Unmanned aerial veh.cles(UAVs)are emerging as a powerful tool for inspections and repair works in large-scale and unstructured 3d infrastructures,but current approach.s take a long time to cover th. entire *** using UAVs for inspections and repair works puts forward a requirement of improving time efficiency in large-scale and cluster *** paper presents a h.erarch.cal multi-UAV cooperative framework for infrastructure inspection and reconstruction to balance th. workload and reduce th. overall task completion *** proposed framework consists of two stages,th. exploration stage and th. exploitation stage,resolving th. task in a sequential *** th. exploration stage,th. density map is developed to update global and local information for dynamic load-balanced area partition based on reconstructability and relative positions of UAVs,and th. Voronoi-based planner is used to enable th. UAVs to reach.th.ir best *** obtaining th. global map,viewpoints are generated and divided wh.le taking into account th. battery capacity of each.***,a sh.rtest path.planning meth.d is used to minimize th. total traveling cost of th.se viewpoints for obtaining a h.gh.quality *** experiments are conducted in both.a simulated and real environment to sh.w th. time efficiency,robustness,and effectiveness of th. proposed ***,th. wh.le system is implemented in real applications.

h.gh.y pure red ph.sph.rs Lim(PO_(3))_(3):Eu^(3+)(m=Sr,Ca) doped with.Eu^(3+)(1 mol%) were synth.sized via solution combustion meth.d and th.ir crystal structure and luminescence dynamics were studied to explore its suitability in wh.te ligh. emitting *** Rietveld refinement analysis of th. powder Xray diffraction patterns reveals th.t th. ph.sph.rs belong to th. pure triclinic ph.se of LiSr(PO_(3))_(3) and LiCa(PO_(3)) with.space group P-1(2).Th. scanning electron microscopy images sh.wed th. agglomerated *** ph.toluminescence emission spectra under 393 nm sh.w an orange band at 594 nm and a red band at 613 nm ascribed to ^(5)d_(0)→^(7)F_(1).^(5)d_(0)→^(7)F_(2) transitions of Eu^(3+)ion in both.th. ***,th. spectroscopic properties such.as luminescence beh.viour,and Stark splitting were used to examine th. symmetry of Eu^(3+)ions in Lim(PO_(3))_(3):Es^(3+)(m=Sr,Ca) ph.sph.rs in terms of distortion induced upon *** Stark splitting sh.ws th.t th. actual site symmetry for Eu^(3+)ion was estimated to be d_(2) type for both.*** ph.tometric properties of LiCa(PO_(3))_(3):Eu^(3+)such.as Commission International de l'Eclairage coordinates(x=0.64,y=0.36) near to th. standard one(red),h.gh.color purity(95%) and h.gh.r brigh.ness reveal th.t th. ph.sph.r h.s th. capability of acting as a red component in n-UV wh.te ligh. emitting diodes.

Ballistic design and testing of a composite armour reinforced by CNTs suitable for armoured veh.cles

Th.s paper is investigating th. use of composite armour reinforced by nanomaterials, for th. protection of ligh. armoured(LAV) and medium armoured military veh.cles(mAV), and th. interaction between th. composite materials and h.gh.performance ballistic projectiles. Four armour materials, consisted of front h.brid fibre reinforced polymer cover layer, ceramic strike-face, fibre reinforced polymer intermediate layer and th. metal matrix composite reinforced backplate, were manufactured and assembled by adh.sive tech.ology. Th. proposed laminated protection system is suitable for armoured ground veh.cles;h.wever, it could be used as armour on ground, air and naval platforms. Th. design of th. protection system, including material selection and th.ckness, was elaborated depending on th. performance requirements of Level 4 + STANAG 4569 military standard(projectile 14.5 mm × 114 mm API B32) and especially on a design ph.losoph. wh.ch.is analysed with.th. specifications. Th. backplate of th.s new composite is a h.brid material of metal matrix Composite(mmC) reinforced with.carbon nanotubes(CNTs), manufactured with.th. use of powder metallurgy tech.ique. Th. composite backplate material was morph.logically, mech.nically and ch.mically analysed. Results sh.w th.t all plates are presenting h.gh.mech.nical properties and ballistic ch.racteristics, compared to commonly used armour plates. Real military ballistic tests according to AEP-STANAG 4569 were carried out for th. total composite armour systems. After th. ballistic tests, AA2024-CNT3 sh.wed th. best protection results, compared with.th. oth.r plates(AA2024-CNT1 and AA2024-CNT2), with.th. projectile being unable to fully penetrate th. composite plate.
