We report the thermotolerance of new bivoltine silkworm, Bombyx mori strains NB4D2, KSO1, NP2, cSR2 and cSR4 and differential expression of heat shock proteins at different instars. Different instars of silkworm larva were subjected to heat shock at 35℃, 40℃ and 45℃ for 2 hours followed by 2 hours recovery. heat shock proteins were analyzed by SDS-PAGE. The impact of heat shock on commercial traits of cocoons was analyzed by following different strategies in terms of acquired thermotolerance over control. comparatively NP2 exhibited better survivability than other strains. Resistance to heat shock was increased as larval development proceeds in the order of first instar 〉 second instar 〉 third instar 〉 fourth instar 〉 fifth instar in all silkworm strains. Expression of heat shock proteins varies in different instars. 90 kDa in the first, second and third instars, 84 kDa in the fourth instar and 84, 62, 60, 47 and 33 kDa heat shock proteins in fifth instar was observed in response to heat shock. Relative influence of heat shock on commercial traits that correspond to different stages was significant in all strains. In NB4D2, cocoon and shell weight significantly increased to 17.52% and 19.44% over control respectively. heat shock proteins as molecular markers for evaluation and evolution of thermotolerant silkworm strains for tropics was discussed.

Intercellular communication is an important means of molecular information transfer through exchange of membrane proteins from cells to cells. Advent of the latest analytical and imaging tools has allowed us to enhance our understanding of the cellular communication through the intercellular exchange of intact membrane patches, also called trogocytosis, which is a ubiquitous phenomenon. Immune responses against pathogens or any foreign antigens require fine immune regulation, where cellular communications are mediated by either soluble or cell surface molecules. It has been demonstrated that the membrane molecule transfer between immune cells such as dendritic and T cells can be derived through internalization/recycling pathway, dissociation-associated pathway, uptake of exosomes and membrane nanotube formations. Recent evidence implicates the trogocytosis as an important mechanism of the immune system to modulate immune responses. Exchange of membrane molecules/ antigens between immune cells has been observed for a long time, but the mechanisms and functional consequences of these transfers remain unclear. In this review, we discuss the possible mechanisms of trogocytosis and its physiological relevance to immune system, with special reference to T cells and the stimulatory or suppressive immune responses derived from T cells with acquired dendritic cell membrane molecules. cellular ＆ Molecular Immunology. 2008;5（4）：261-269.

A detailed investigation of different decay modes,namely alpha decay,beta decay,cluster decay including heavy particle emission(Z_(c)>28),and spontaneous fission,was carried out,leading to the identification of new cluster and beta-plus emitters in superheavy nucle with 104≤Z≤*** the first time,we identified around20 beta-plus emitters in superheavy ***-particle radioactivity was observed in superheavy elements of atomic number in the range 116≤Z≤126.^(292-293)Og were identified as ^(86)Kr emitters,and ^(298)122 and ^(300)122 were identified as ^(94)Zr emitters,whereas heavy-particle radioactivity from ^(91)Y was also observed in ^(299)***,the nuclei ^(300)124 and ^(306)126 exhibit ^(96)Mo *** reported regions of beta-plus and heavyparticle radioactivity for superheavy nuclei are stronger than those for alpha *** identified decay modes for superheavy nuclei are presented in a *** study is intended to serve as a reference for identifying possible decay modes in the superheavy region.

catalytic transfer hydrogenation(cTh)is a green and efficient pathway for selective hydrogenation of unsaturated aldehydes and ***,managing the abilities of solid catalysts to adsorb substrates and to convert them into desired products is a challenging ***,we report the synthesis of carbon coated LaFe_(0.92)Pd_(0.08)O_(3) composites(LFPO-8@c)for cTh of benzaldehyde(Bzh)into benzyl alcohol(BzOh),using isopropanol(IPA)as hydrogen *** coating with carbon improves the ability to adsorb/transfer reactants from solution to active sites,and the doping of Pd2+at Fe3+site strengthens the ability of LaFeO_(3) to convert Bzh into BzOh.A balanced point between them(i.e.,abilities to adsorb Bzh and to convert Bzh into BzOh)is obtained at LFPO-8@c,which exhibits a BzOh formation rate of 3.88 mmol·gcat^(-1)·h^(-1) at 180℃ for 3 h,which is 1.50 and 2.72 times faster than those of LFPO-8 and LaFeO_(3)@c.A reaction mechanism is proposed,in which the acidic sites(e.g.,Fe^(4+),oxygen vacancy)are used for the activation of c=O bond of Bzh and O-h bond of IPA,and the basic sites(e.g.,lattice oxygen)for the activation ofα-h(O-h)bond of IPA.

Background: It is crucial to assess the severity of acute cholangitis(Ac). There are currently several prognostic markers. however, the accuracies of these markers are not satisfied. The present study aimed to investigate the predictive value of the red cell distribution width(RDW)-to-albumin ratio(RAR) for the prognosis of Ac. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated consecutive patients diagnosed with Ac between May 2019 and March 2022. RAR was calculated, and its predictive ability for in-hospital mortality, intensive care unit(IcU) admission, bacteremia, and the length of hospitalization were analyzed. Results: Out of 438 patients, 34(7.8%) died. Multivariate analysis showed that malignant etiology [odds ratio(OR) = 4.816, 95% confidence interval(cI): 1.936-11.980], creatinine(OR = 1.649, 95% cI: 1.095-2.484), and RAR(OR = 2.064, 95% cI: 1.494-2.851) were independent risk factors for mortality. When adjusted for relevant covariates, including age, sex, malignant etiology, Tokyo severity grading(TSG), charlson comorbidity index, and creatinine, RAR significantly predicted mortality(adjusted OR = 1.833, 95% cI: 1.280-2.624). When the cut-off of RAR was set to 3.8, its sensitivity and specificity for mortality were 94.1% and 56.7%, respectively. Patients with an RAR of > 3.8 had a 20.9-fold(OR = 20.9, 95% cI: 4.9-88.6) greater risk of mortality than the remaining patients. The area under the curve value of RAR for mortality was 0.835(95% cI: 0.770-0.901), which was significantly higher than that of TSG and the other prognostic markers, such as c-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio, and procalcitonin-to-albumin ratio. Lastly, RAR was not inferior to TSG in predicting IcU admission, bacteremia, and the length of hospitalization. conclusions: RAR successfully predicted the in-hospital mortality, IcU admission, bacteremia, and the length of hospitalization of patients with Ac, especially in-hospital mortality. Brominated-chlorinated paraffins(Br-cPs)are a comparably new compound class that features both cl and Br atoms on one or several alkane *** to legal restrictions in the use of conventional chlorinated paraffins(cPs),Br-cPs have the potential to become emerging ***,their determination is hampered by the lack of suitable reference ***,we present a simple synthesis procedure with single chain alkanes that leads to Br-cPs with∼4–8 chlorine and 1 to 4 bromine substituents according to gas chromatography with electron capture negative ion mass spectrometry(Gc/EcNI-MS).The single-chain Br-cP mixtures were obtained by the shared chlorination and bromination of eight single-chain alkanes(c10 to c17)at two reaction times,*** carbon content of the 16 single-chain Br-cP products,determined by elemental analysis(EA),ranged from 30.8 to 43.8%.The typical hump peak known from cPs was detected with Gc with flame ionization detection(Gc/FID),electron capture detection(Gc/EcD)and Gc/*** complexity indicated that low-resolution mass spectrometry is not sufficient for an adequate analysis of Br-cPs.A mathematical formula was developed which allows to calculate all possible combinations of Br and cl that are in line with the carbon *** proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1h NMR)spectra showed similarities to the ones of cPs with one chemical shift range for protons on nonhalogenated carbons and one for protons with one halogen on the same carbon.

Background Since the late 1990s, bigheaded carps(largely silver carp [hypophthalmichthys molitrix] but also bighead carp [h. nobilis]) have established throughout the lower Mississippi River basin. Using previously studied oxbow lakes in the lower White River basin, Arkansas, we compared current(2017, “post-carp” establishment) fish assemblages to historical(2002, “pre-carp” establishment) fish assemblages. Fish assemblages were comprehensively assessed using multiple gears, including boat electrofishing, mini-fyke nets, and experimental small-mesh gill *** T-tests suggested that fish assemblage indices of richness, diversity, evenness, and dominance were often greater(P he post-carp period as reflected by boat electrofishing and experimental gill nets. however, all indices were generally similar(P > 0.05) between the pre-carp and post-carp period with fish assemblages depicted using mini-fyke nets. Nonmetric multidimensional scaling analyses indicated that fish assemblages differed structurally between pre-carp and post-carp periods. Assemblage differences were linked to both small and large abundance changes for more than 20 species. Abundances of gizzard shad(Dorosoma cepedianum), emerald shiner(Notropis atherinoides), pugnose minnow(Opsopoeodus emiliae), crappies(Pomoxis spp.), bluegill(Lepomis macrochirus), orangespotted sunfish(L. humilis), and yellow bass(Morone mississippiensis) declined between the pre-carp and postcarp periods. conversely, abundances of weed shiner(N. texanus), pallid shiner(hybopsis amnis), longear sunfish(L. megalotis), buffalofishes(Ictiobus spp.), and gars(Lepisosteus spp.) generally increased during the same *** Although not possible to conclude assemblage shifts were entirely related to bigheaded carps due to the absence of an appropriate reference system where carps did not establish, the wide establishment of these carps is one of the most pervasive changes to have occurred in the lower White
