Stability mechanism and control of the pumpable supports in longwall recovery room

The load-bearing performance(LBP)of pumpable supports(PPS)is crucial for the stability of longwall pre-driven recovery room(PRR)surrounding ***,the unbalanced bearing coefficient(UBC)of the PPS(undertaking unequal load along the mining direction)has not been investigated.A mechanical model of the PRR was established,considering the main roof cantilever beam structure,to derive an assessment formula for the load,the failure criteria,and the UBC of the ***,the generation mechanisms,and influencing factors of the UBC were *** sensitivity analysis shows that the main roof hanging length(l_(2))and the spacing between the PPS(r)significantly impact the UBC.A novel design of the PPS and the coupling control technology were proposed and applied to reduce the UBC of the PPS in the adjacent longwall *** results showed no failure of the PPS at the test site,with the UBC(ζ)reduced to 1.1 consistent with the design value(1.15)basically,fully utilizing the collaborative LBP of the ***,the maximum roof-to-floor convergence of the PRR was 234 mm,effectively controlling the stability of the surrounding rock of the PRR and ensuring the mining equipment recovery.

The booming development of rare earth industry and the extensive utilization of its products accompanied by urban development have led to the accelerated accumulation of rare earth elements(REEs)as emerging pollutants in atmospheric *** this study,the variation of REEs in PM_(2.5)with urban(a non-mining city)transformation was investigated through five consecutive years of sample *** compositional variability and provenance contribution of REEs in PM_(2.5)were characterized,and the REEs exposure risks of children and adults via inhalation,ingestion and dermal absorption were also *** results showed an increase in the total REEs concentration from 46.46±35.16 mg/kg(2017)to 81.22±38.98 mg/kg(2021)over the five-year period,with Ce and La making the largest *** actual increment of industrial and traffic emission source among the three pollution sources was 1.34 ng/m^(3).Coal combustion source displayed a downward *** was the main exposure pathway for REEs in PM_(2.5)for both children and *** contributed the most to the total intake of REEs in PM_(2.5)among the population,followed by La and *** exposure risks of REEs in PM_(2.5)in the region were relatively low,but the trend of change was of great *** was strongly recommended to strengthen the concern about traffic-related non-exhaust emissions of particulate matter.

Treatment of type C3 distal radius fracture resulted from high-energy injuries by volar plate in combination with external fixator

Background With a type C3 distal radius fracture it is extremely difficult to maintain the reduction and to restore congruity of the articular surface because the support for the volar and dorsal bone cortex has been lost. An external fixator crossing wrist in combination with Kirschner wire （K-wire） fixation was popularly used by most studies in recent years. But loss of reduction often occurred especially in the volar sides. Methods A total of 30 cases of type C3 distal radius fracture were treated by a volar buttress plate combined with a transarticular external fixator and other techniques such as K-wire fixation and bone grafting if necessary. The postoperative volar tilt angles, ulnar inclinations, radial heights, range of motion, grip strength and complications were recorded to assess the therapeutic effects. Results Of the 30 patients, 27 patients were followed up for 12-29 （mean 18） months and all fractures healed in 8-13 weeks after surgery （mean 10 weeks）. The wrist function was excellent in 8 cases, good in 16 cases and fair in 3 cases according to the Sarmiento scoring system （modified by Stewart）. Conclusions For type C3 comminuted fracture with severe volar and dorsal instability, fixation by volar buttress plate combined with transarticular external fixator should be adopted. Dorsal instability could be further stabilized by other techniques such as Kirschner wire fixation, and bone grafting.

Exploring a new path of green and efficient utilization of sinter return fine to produce composite pellets

Efficient utilization of sinter return fine is an important measure to reduce cost,increase efficiency,save energy and reduce emission.A new path of green and efficient utilization of return fine was proposed to produce composite *** metallurgical properties of composite pellets under the condition of hydrogen-rich blast furnace were *** experimental results indicate that the coated concentrate was consolidated for the composite pellets through normal Fe_(2)O_(3) *** the surface of core return fine,the liquid phase formed due to its low-melting point,assimilated the adjacent concentrate,and then consolidated with the temperature *** with regular pellets,the com-pressive strength and reduction swelling index of composite pellets were decreased,but the reducibility index and softening-melting properties were *** addition,the reduction degradation index of composite pellets was sig-nificantly higher than that of ***,adding composite pellets was conducive to indirect reduction in blast furnace,reducing fuel ratio and improving production *** to the effect of the roasting system on the metallurgical properties,the roasting temperature and time were determined as 1250℃and 30 min,*** composite pellets can be produced under the traditional pelletizing process.

A comparative investigation on wear behaviors of physical and chemical vapor deposited bronze coatings for hydraulic piston pump

The cylinder block/valve plate interface is one of the most critical frictional interfaces of the swashplate-type axial piston ***,the poor lubrication interface caused rapid wear and high friction loss in an elastohydrodynamic lubrication system,decreasing the pump *** resistant bronze coatings were fabricated on 38CrMoAl substrate by Physical Vapor Deposition(PVD)and Chemical Vapor Deposition(CVD),***-on-disc wear tests were performed to comparatively investigate the wear behaviors of the coatings and bulk ductile iron *** can be found that the PVD-bronze coating exhibited better wear resistance than the other two *** enhanced wear resistance was attributed to the unique composite microstructure and desired mechanical strength,which could resist to mechanical shear and spallation,decreasing friction *** appropriate hardness of(1.33±0.07)GPa could be beneficial for enhancing its wear *** PVD-bronze coating possessed a much lower and stable coefficient of friction(about 0.1)and wear rate(about 6000μm3.N-1.m-1)under the loading forces of about 100 N after 20 *** wear mechanism was the abrasive wear.

Atomistic understanding of rough surface on the interfacial friction behavior during the chemical mechanical polishing process of diamond

The roughness of the contact surface exerts a vital role in *** is still a significant challenge to understand the microscopic contact of the rough surface at the atomic ***,the rough surface with a special root mean square(RMS)value is constructed by multivariate Weierstrass–Mandelbrot(W–M)function and the rubbing process during that the chemical mechanical polishing(CMP)process of diamond is mimicked utilizing the reactive force field molecular dynamics(ReaxFF MD)*** is found that the contact area A/A0 is positively related with the load,and the friction force F depends on the number of interfacial bridge *** the surface roughness will increase the friction force and friction *** model with low roughness and high lubrication has less friction force,and the presence of polishing liquid molecules can decrease the friction force and friction *** RMS value and the degree of damage show a functional relationship with the applied load and lubrication,i.e.,the RMS value decreases more under larger load and higher lubrication,and the diamond substrate occurs severer damage under larger load and lower *** work will generate fresh insight into the understanding of the microscopic contact of the rough surface at the atomic level.

Data-Driven Learning Control Algorithms for Unachievable Tracking Problems

For unachievable tracking problems, where the system output cannot precisely track a given reference, achieving the best possible approximation for the reference trajectory becomes the objective. This study aims to investigate solutions using the Ptype learning control scheme. Initially, we demonstrate the necessity of gradient information for achieving the best ***, we propose an input-output-driven learning gain design to handle the imprecise gradients of a class of uncertain systems. However, it is discovered that the desired performance may not be attainable when faced with incomplete *** address this issue, an extended iterative learning control scheme is introduced. In this scheme, the tracking errors are modified through output data sampling, which incorporates lowmemory footprints and offers flexibility in learning gain *** input sequence is shown to converge towards the desired input, resulting in an output that is closest to the given reference in the least square sense. Numerical simulations are provided to validate the theoretical findings.

Intermediate phase-assisted growth of CsPbBr_(3) for high performance of carbon-based perovskite solar cells

CsPbBr_(3)inorganic perovskites have been regarded as the promising materials in the field of photo-voltaics because of the high tolerance against *** high energy barrier of phase transition from lead bromide(PbBr_(2))to CsPbBr_(3)perovskite and low solubility of perovskite in organic solvent impede the further improvement of device performance in terms of CsPbBr_(3)solar ***,an intermediate phase-assisted growth of CsPbBr_(3)perovskite was proposed by introducing tetraphenylphosphonium bromide(TPPB)as *** TPPB is expected to react with PbBr_(2)in organic solvent to form an intermediate phase of[***]-PbBr_(2),which not only effectively improves the crystallinity of PbBr2 crystals,but also greatly reduces the phase transition energy barrier,leading to uniform and compact CsPbBr_(3)perovskite films with large grain size and high *** combination with carbon electrode,the CsPbBr_(3)solar cells yield a champion device performance of 9.57%in comparison of pristine CsPbBr_(3)solar cells showing a low efficiency of 8.17%.Furthermore,the intermediate phaseassisted growth of CsPbBr_(3)-based solar cells displays an outstanding storage over720 h.

A Hybrid Level Set Optimization Design Method of Functionally Graded Cellular Structures Considering Connectivity

With the continuous advancement in topology optimization and additive manufacturing(AM)technology,the capability to fabricate functionally graded materials and intricate cellular structures with spatially varying microstructures has grown ***,a critical challenge is encountered in the design of these structures–the absence of robust interface connections between adjacent microstructures,potentially resulting in diminished efficiency or macroscopic failure.A Hybrid Level Set Method(HLSM)is proposed,specifically designed to enhance connectivity among non-uniform microstructures,contributing to the design of functionally graded cellular *** HLSM introduces a pioneering algorithm for effectively blending heterogeneous microstructure ***,an interpolation algorithm is presented to construct transition microstructures seamlessly connected on both ***,the algorithm enables the morphing of non-uniform unit cells to seamlessly adapt to interconnected adjacent *** method,seamlessly integrated into a multi-scale topology optimization framework using the level set method,exhibits its efficacy through numerical examples,showcasing its prowess in optimizing 2D and 3D functionally graded materials(FGM)and multi-scale topology *** essence,the pressing issue of interface connections in complex structure design is not only addressed but also a robust methodology is introduced,substantiated by numerical evidence,advancing optimization capabilities in the realm of functionally graded materials and cellular structures.
