2LiBH4-MgH2composite is one of the most attractive reactive hydride composites with a theoretic hydrogen capacity of 10.8 wt%.However,the large nucleation restriction of MgB2during the second step of dehydrogenation results in sluggish hydrogen storage kinetics and high operating temperature,which hinders its practical application as on-board hydrogen storage ***,Al3Ti doped Al nanoparticles （AT NPs） are prepared by a facile chemical reduction reaction to improve the hydrogen storage performance of *** the initial H2desorption process,MgAlB4and TiB2that have identical crystal structure and low d-value mismatch with MgB2resulting from the reaction between AT NPs and 2LiBH4-MgH2composite serve as effective nucleation sites for the formation of *** a result,the apparent activation energy of the two-step H2desorption of AT NPs doped 2LiBH4-MgH2composite are notably decreased to （110.0±5.9） and（119.6±1.4） kJ·mol-1,which is 55.5 and 33.5 kJ·mol-1lower than that of the undoped *** importantly,a reversible hydrogen storage capacity of 9.2 wt%after 10cycles of H2desorption and adsorption could be achieved,corresponding to a capacity retention rate of 99%.The building of reactive bimetallic catalyst towards in situ formation of heterogeneous nucleation sites provides a new strategy for improving the hydrogen storage performance of reactive hydride composites.

Garnet-type solid-state batteries(SSBs)are considered to be one of the most promising candidates to realize next-generation lithium metal batteries with high energy density and ***,the dendrite-induced short-circuit and the poor interfacial contact impeded the practical ***,interface engineering to achieve low interfacial resistance without high temperature calcination was developed,which Li_(6.4)La_(3)Zr_(1.4)Ta_(0.6)O_(12)(LLZTO)was simply coated with complex hydride(Li_(4)(BH_(4))_(3)I(3L1L))in various mass ratios n(Li_(4)(BH_(4))_(3)I)-(100−n)LLZTO(10≤n≤40).The interfacial conductivity increases by more than three orders of magnitude from 8.29×10^(−6)S·cm^(−1)to 1.10×10^(−2)S·cm^(−1).Symmetric Li cells exhibit a high critical current density(CCD)of 4.0 mA·cm^(−2) and an excellent cycling stability for 200 h at 4.0 mA·cm^(−2).SSBs with polymeric sulfur-polyacrylonitrile(SPAN)cathode achieve a high discharge capacity of 1149 mAh·g^(−1) with a capacity retention of 91%after 100 cycles(0.2 C).This attempt guides a simple yet efficient strategy for obtaining a stable Li/LLZTO interface,which would promote the development of solid-state batteries.

How interfacial electron-donating defects influence the structure and charge of gold nanoparticles on TiO_(2)support

The reduction degree of TiO_(2)support is critical to the performances of metal *** many previous theoretical calculations,only the bridge oxygen vacancy(Ov)was considered as the electron-donating defect on reduced rutile TiO_(2)(r-TiO_(2−x))***,titanium adatoms(Tiad.),oxidized titanium islands(***),and acid hydroxyls(ObrH)also exist at the metal/support *** conducting density functional theory(DFT)calculations and ab initio molecular dynamics(AIMD)simulations,we compared r-TiO_(2−x)surfaces with Ov,Tiad.,***,and ObrH sites loaded with Au nanoparticles(NPs).The results showed the Au NPs were oxygen-phobic but titanium-philic,resulting in wetting of Ov and *** short contact with *** and *** Bader charges of Au NPs(QM)showed a good linear relationship with the ideal number of donating electrons(Ne)from the defective sites(QM=−KeNe+QM,S),demonstrating the intrinsic electron allocation at the *** Ov,Tiad.,and *** exhibited similar slopes(Ke),relatively steeper than that of *** means in the scope of Au NP charge state,the *** *** have a close electron-donating ability with Ov,but the ObrH donates relatively fewer *** linear relationship can be extended approximately to other *** higher the metal work function,the steeper the Ke for easier electron donation from defective *** stronger the metal oxygen affinity,the more positive the intercept(QM,S).That explains the easy generation of metallic or negative Pt and Au NPs on r-TiO_(2−x),but hard for Cu and Zn in *** provides theoretical guidance for regulating the charge of metal NPs over TiO_(2−x)supports.

Aerodynamic optimization of an adaptive flap for next-generation green aircraft

Adaptive,morphing flaps are taking ever-increasing attention in civil aviation thanks to the expected benefits this technology can bring at the aircraft level in terms of high-lift performance improvement and related fuel burnt reduction per *** upon morphing capabilities,it is possible to fix a unique setting for the flap and adapt the flap shape to match the aerodynamic requirements for take-off or *** proper morphed shapes can assure better high-lift performances than those achievable by referring to a conventional ***,standing the unique flap setting for take-off and landing,a dramatic simplification of the flap deployment systems may be *** a consequence of this simplification,the deployment system can be fully hosted in the wing,thus avoiding under-wing nacelles with significantly better aerodynamics and fuel *** first step for a rational design of an adaptive flap consists in defining the target morphed shapes and the unique optimal flap setting in the take-off and landing *** this work,aerodynamic optimization analyses are carried out to determine the best flap setting and related morphed shapes in compliance with the take-off and landing requirements of a reference civil transport *** different initial conditions are adopted to avoid the optimization falling into local optima,thus obtaining four groups of optimal candidate *** comparing each candidate’s performance through 2D and 3D simulations,the optimal configuration has been selected.2D simulations show that the optimal configuration is characterized by a maximum lift increase of 31.92%in take-off and 9.04%in *** to 3D simulations,the rise in maximum lift equals 22.26%in take-off and 3.50%in *** results are finally verified through wind tunnel tests,and the aerodynamic mechanism behind the obtained improvements is explained by carefully analyzing the flow field around the flap.

Background Liver transplantation is the main treatment for cholestatic liver disease and some metabolic liver diseases in ***,no accurate prediction model to determine the survival probability of grafts prior to surgery *** study aimed to develop an effective prognostic model for allograft survival after pediatric liver *** This retrospective cohort study included 2032 patients who underwent pediatric liver transplantation between January 1,2006,and January 1,2020.A nomogram was developed using Cox regression and validated based on bootstrap *** and discriminatory accuracies were determined using the concordance index and visualized using calibration curves;net benefits were calculated for model *** online Shiny application was developed for easy access to the *** Multivariable analysis demonstrated that preoperative diagnosis,recipient age,body weight,graft type,preoperative total bilirubin,interleukin-1β,portal venous blood flow direction,spleen thickness,and the presence of heart disease and cholangitis were independent factors for survival,all of which were selected in the *** of the nomogram indicated that the 1-,3-,and 5-year predicted survival rates agreed with the actual survival *** concordance indices for graft survival at 1,3,and 5 years were 0.776,0.757,and 0.753,respectively,which were significantly higher than those of the Pediatric End-Stage Liver Disease and Child-Pugh scoring *** allograft dysfunction risk of a recipient could be easily predicted using the following URL:https://***/ASPELT/l Conclusion The allograft survival after pediatric liver transplantation(ASPELT)score model can effectively predict the graft survival rate after liver transplantation in children,providing a simple and convenient evaluation method for clinicians and patients.

To analyze the relationship between macro and meso parameters of the gas hydrate bearing coal(GHBC)and to calibrate the meso-parameters,the numerical tests were conducted to simulate the laboratory triaxial compression tests by PFC3D,with the parallel bond model employed as the particle contact constitutive ***,twenty simulation tests were conducted to quantify the relationship between the macro–meso ***,nine orthogonal simulation tests were performed using four meso-mechanical parameters in a three-level to evaluate the sensitivity of the meso-mechanical ***,the calibration method of the meso-parameters were then ***,the contact force chain,the contact force and the contact number were examined to investigate the saturation effect on the meso-mechanical behavior of *** results show that:(1)The elastic modulus linearly increases with the bonding stiffness ratio and the friction coefficient while exponentially increasing with the normal bonding strength and the bonding radius *** failure strength increases exponentially with the increase of the friction coefficient,the normal bonding strength and the bonding radius coefficient,and remains constant with the increase of bond stiffness ratio;(2)The friction coefficient and the bond radius coefficient are most sensitive to the elastic modulus and the failure strength;(3)The number of the force chains,the contact force,and the bond strength between particles will increase with the increase of the hydrate saturation,which leads to the larger failure strength.

Phospholipase C zeta(PLC)is a key sperm-borne oocyte-activating factor that triggers Ca^(2+)oscillations and the subsequent block to polyspermy following gamete *** in PLCZ1,the gene encoding PLCζ,cause male infertility and intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI)fertilization failure;and PLCζ expression and localization patterns are significantly correlated with ICSI fertilization rate(FR).However,in conventional in vitro fertilization(cIVF),whether and how sperm PLCζ affects fertilization remain ***,we identified one previously reported and two novel PLCZ1 mutations associated with polyspermy in vitro that are characterized by excessive sperm-zona binding and a delay in pronuclei(PN)*** staining and oocyte activation testing revealed that virtually all spermatozoa from patients lacked functional PLCζ and were thus unable to evoke Ca^(2+) *** with an artificial oocyte activation treatment successfully rescued the polyspermic phenotype and resulted in a live ***,we analyzed PLCζ in an additional 58 males after cIVF treatment in the Reproductive and Genetic Hospital of CiTiC-xiangya(Changsha,China)between February 2019 and January *** found that the proportion of spermatozoa that expressed PLCζ was positively correlated with both 2PN rate and total *** optimal cutoff value below which males were likely to experience low FR(total FR≤30%)after clVF was 56.7%for the proportion of spermatozoa expressing *** study expands the mutation and the phenotypic spectrum of PLCZ1 and further suggests that PLCζ constitutes a promising biomarker for identifying low FRs cases in cIVF due to sperm-related oocyte activation deficiency and that sperm PLCζ analysis may benefit the widermale population and not onlymen with IcsI failure.

Deepfake-generated fake faces,commonly utilized in identity-related activities such as political propaganda,celebrity impersonations,evidence forgery,and familiar fraud,pose new societal *** current deepfake generators strive for high realism in visual effects,they do not replicate biometric signals indicative of cardiac *** this gap,many researchers have developed detection methods focusing on biometric *** methods utilize classification networks to analyze both temporal and spectral domain features of the remote photoplethysmography(rPPG)signal,resulting in high detection ***,in the spectral analysis,existing approaches often only consider the power spectral density and neglect the amplitude spectrum—both crucial for assessing cardiac *** introduce a novel method that extracts rPPG signals from multiple regions of interest through remote photoplethysmography and processes them using Fast Fourier Transform(FFT).The resultant time-frequency domain signal samples are organized into matrices to create Matrix Visualization Heatmaps(MVHM),which are then utilized to train an image classification ***,we explored various combinations of time-frequency domain representations of rPPG signals and the impact of attention *** experimental results show that our algorithm achieves a remarkable detection accuracy of 99.22%in identifying fake videos,significantly outperforming mainstream algorithms and demonstrating the effectiveness of Fourier Transform and attention mechanisms in detecting fake faces.

AIM:To address the challenges of data labeling difficulties,data privacy,and necessary large amount of labeled data for deep learning methods in diabetic retinopathy(DR)identification,the aim of this study is to develop a source-free domain adaptation(SFDA)method for efficient and effective DR identification from unlabeled ***:A multi-SFDA method was proposed for DR *** method integrates multiple source models,which are trained from the same source domain,to generate synthetic pseudo labels for the unlabeled target ***,a softmax-consistence minimization term is utilized to minimize the intra-class distances between the source and target domains and maximize the inter-class *** is performed using three color fundus photograph datasets(APTOS2019,DDR,and EyePACS).RESULTS:The proposed model was evaluated and provided promising results with respectively 0.8917 and 0.9795 F1-scores on referable and normal/abnormal DR identification *** demonstrated effective DR identification through minimizing intra-class distances and maximizing inter-class distances between source and target ***:The multi-SFDA method provides an effective approach to overcome the challenges in DR *** method not only addresses difficulties in data labeling and privacy issues,but also reduces the need for large amounts of labeled data required by deep learning methods,making it a practical tool for early detection and preservation of vision in diabetic patients.

Cancer,a complex and multifactorial disease,presents a significant challenge to global *** significant advances in surgical,radiotherapeutic and immunological approaches,which have improved cancer treatment outcomes,drug therapy continues to serve as a key therapeutic ***,the clinical efficacy of drug therapy is often constrained by drug resistance and severe toxic side effects,and thus there remains a critical need to develop novel cancer *** promising strategy that has received widespread attention in recent years is drug repurposing:the identification of new applications for existing,clinically approved *** repurposing possesses several inherent advantages in the context of cancer treatment since repurposed drugs are typically cost-effective,proven to be safe,and can significantly expedite the drug development process due to their already established safety *** light of this,the present review offers a comprehensive overview of the various methods employed in drug repurposing,specifically focusing on the repurposing of drugs to treat *** describe the antitumor properties of candidate drugs,and discuss in detail how they target both the hallmarks of cancer in tumor cells and the surrounding tumor *** addition,we examine the innovative strategy of integrating drug repurposing with nanotechnology to enhance topical drug *** also emphasize the critical role that repurposed drugs can play when used as part of a combination therapy *** conclude,we outline the challenges associated with repurposing drugs and consider the future prospects of these repurposed drugs transitioning into clinical application.
