Feeding dysfunction is a frequent presenting symptom of eosinophilic esophagitis(EoE). Here we present 3 children of various ages whose manifestations of EoE associated feeding dysfunction led to significant and life altering impact on their growth and development. Early identification of presenting symptoms of EoE will allow for prompt diagnosis and initiation of appropriate treatments. Recognition of salient features of dysfunction and treatment by feeding therapists and nutritionists led to symptom resolution and growth.

A novel Cu-based composite frictional train brake material composed of several elements such as Al, SiO2, Fe, graphite, Sn, mn and moS2 re-enforced with other elements was treated under Powder metallurgy （P/m） route. Well prepared powders were hydraulically compacted at 650mPa. The materials were sintered at three different temperatures （850oC, 900oC and 950oC） at a constant pressure. The dry sliding friction and wear characteristics of three different sintering treatment temperatures were investigated and the results were remarkable. The tribological behavior of these materials was analyzed by pad-on-disk tests without lubrication and the coefficient of friction, wear rate and wear number were studied in order to identify the effects of the sintering temperature on the base materials composition. The porosities were found to be very high but were adequate to give the right self lubrication properties and to reduce seizure. It was found that the porosity varies inversely proportional to the increase in sintering temperature. The pores in the sintered material were mainly solid lubricants such as graphite and other low melting elements. This also resulted in poor hardness and mechanical properties, which were compensated by its ability to reduce seizure. much lower wear frictional coefficient, k and the highest coefficient friction,μwith a high wear number, Wn were obtained, indicating a good wear resistance property of the friction material. Three forms of wear mechanisms were observed during the dry sliding process, namely;delamination wear, plowing wear and abrasive wear. The abrasive wear results in flake or break-away debris. These wear mechanisms were found to be responsible for high wear rates on samples sintered at 850oC and 900oC. Generally, the materials demonstrated excellent brake performance and wear resistance. Two-dimensional SnS2 nanosheets on Prussian blue template for high performance sodium ion batteries

Three-dimensional Prussian blue (PB) nanostructures was obtained via a one-step hydrothermal method. Subsequently, two-dimensional tin disulfide (SnS2) nanosheets were grown onto PB through a facile hydrothermal synthesis. The as prepared SnS2/PB is further employed as the anode of sodium ion batteries (SIBs). S11S2/PB nanoarchitecture delivers a specific capacity of 725.7 mAh·g-1 at 50 mA·g-1. When put through more than 200 cycles, it achieved a stable cycling capacity of 400 m Ah·g^-1 at 200 m A·g^i. The stable Na^+ storage properties of SnS2/PB was attributed to the synergistic effect among the conductive PB carbon, used as the template in this work. These results obtained potentially paves the way for the development of excellent electrochemical performance with stable performance of SIBs.

In crisis management, cross-sector collaboration exercises are perceived as improving preparedness and develop team-integration efforts. However, studies show that exercises may tend to produce results with limited learning and usefulness. The purpose of this nonexperimental, survey-based study was to measure the difference in perceived exercise effect between participants belonging to the exercise planning organizations and participants belonging to other participating groups. Surveys were distributed and collected from participants in a 2017 chemical oil-spill exercise set off the southern coast of Norway. The target population was operational staff,excluding exercise management and directing staff. The sample population consisted of operatives associated with the exercise organizer organization and others belonging to external public and nongovernmental emergency organizations. The data collection instrument was the 'Collaboration, Learning, and Utility Scale’’(CLU-scale). Findings indicated that the levels of CLU were higher among external participants than among those individuals who belong to the exercise planning organizations. This study recommends the development and adoption of a national maritime collaboration exercise framework. A practical implication is a recommendation to evaluate exercises to secure the outcome regarding collaboration skill using the same instrument.

Background:High-intensity interval training(HIIT)induces similar or even superior adaptations compared to continuous endurance ***,just 6 HIIT sessions over 2 weeks significantly improves maximal oxygen uptake(VO_(2max)),submaximal exercise fat oxidation,and endurance *** even faster adaptations can be achieved with HIIT is not ***,we aimed to determine whether 2 sessions of HIIT per day,separated by 3 h,every other day for 5 days(double HIIT(HIIT-D),n=15)could increase VO_(2max),submaximal exercise fat oxidation,and endurance capacity as effectively as 6 sessions of HIIT over 2 weeks(single HIIT(HIIT-S),n=13).methods:Each training session consisted of 10×60 s of cycling at 100%of VO_(2max)interspersed with 75 s of low-intensity cycling at 60 watt(W).Pre-and post-training assessments included VO_(2max),time to exhaustion at-80%of VO_(2max),and 60-min cycling trials at-67%of VO_(2max).Results:Similar increases(pmax)(HIIT-D:7.7%***-S:6.0%,p>0.05)and endurance capacity(HIIT-D:80.1%***-S:79.2%,p>0.05)were *** exercise carbohydrate oxidation was reduced in the 2 groups after exercise training(HIIT-D:9.2%,p=0.014 ***-S:18.8%,p=0.012)while submaximal exercise fat oxidation was significantly increased in HIIT-D(15.5%,p=0.048)but not in HIIT-S(9.3%,p=0.290).Conclusion:Six HIIT sessions over 5 days was as effective in increasing VO_(2max)and endurance capacity and was more effective in improving submaximal exercise fat oxidation than 6 HIIT sessions over 2 weeks.

An Approach to Quantify Endomembrane Dynamics in Pollen Utilizing Bioactive Chemicals

Tip growth of pollen tubes and root hairs occurs via rapid polar growth. These rapidly elongating cells require tip-focused endomembrane trafficking for the deposition and recycling of proteins, membranes, and cell wall materials. most of the image-based data published to date are subjective and non-quantified. Quantitative and com- parative descriptors of these highly dynamic processes have been a major challenge, but are highly desirable for genetic and chemical genomics approaches to dissect this biological network. To address this problem, we screened for small molecules that perturbed the localization of a marker for the Golgi Ras-like monomeric G-protein RAB2：GFP expressed in transgenic tobacco pollen. Semi-automated high-throughput imaging and image analysis resulted in the identifica- tion of novel compounds that altered pollen tube development and endomembrane trafficking. Six compounds that caused mislocalization and varying degrees of altered movement of RAB2：GFP-labeled endomembrane bodies were used to generate a training set of image data from which to quantify vesicle dynamics. The area, velocity, straightness, and intensity of each body were quantified using semi-automated image analysis tools revealing quantitative differences in the phenotype caused by each compound. A score was then given to each compound enabling quantitative comparisons between compounds. Our results demonstrate that image analysis can be used to quantitatively evaluate dynamic sub- cellular endomembrane phenotypes induced by bioactive chemicals, mutations, or other perturbing agents as part of a strategy to quantitatively dissect the endomembrane network.

English Vocabulary Acquisition Through Songs in Chinese Kindergarten Students

This paper reports an empirical study that examined the widespread practice of using songs in language teaching for young learners. The study may represent the first methodologically rigorous assessment of vocabulary acquisition through songs as used in language teaching. Over a seven-week period including fifteen 40-minute classes, three groups of students from two private kindergartens in Beijing were taught five short English phrases of 4-8 words through each of three conditions （songs, choral repetition, control） in a within-subject repeated measures design. Vocabulary acquisition was measured by the number of meaningful morphemes produced by the students in a picture description task administered before and after the teaching period. Results indicated significant acquisition for items learned through songs and choral repetition, but not for control items. The implication is that songs may indeed contain important pedagogical value.

经皮肾结石摘除和体外震波碎石术确实可以免除常规肾手术的疼痛和减少术后并发症的发病率,但太昂贵,操作本身也不是没有并发症和危险性。实践证明,肾石病的复发完全可以通过纠正代谢失衡、尿生化紊乱等内科治疗而得以预防。作者随机选择103例病人,均根据草酸钙和/或磷酸钠的分析证实有反复形成泌尿系钙石的病史,内科治疗平均3.8年。其中已确诊肾结石者52例,作为Ⅰ组;51例无肾内结石表现者为Ⅱ组。两组病人的内源性肌酸酐廓清率均大于65ml/分钟。除特殊治疗外,均用低盐饮食,摄入盐少于150mE（?）/日。鼓励饮水,使尿量超过2L/日。

Seasonal changes of soil erosion and its spatial distribution on a long gentle hillslope in the Chinese mollisol region

Understanding seasonal soil erosion and deposition rates and their spatial distribution along sloping farmlands are necessary for erosion prediction technology and implementing effective soil conservation *** date seasonal change of soil erosion and soil redistribution on long gentle hillsiopes are not fully quantified due to the variable erosive forces in different seasons.A multi-tracer method using rare earth elements(REE)was employed to discriminate seasonal changes of soil erosion and its spatial distribution on a sloping farmland driven by snowmelt runoff,wind force and rainfall-runoff.A long-slope runoff plot with 5 m wide and 320 m long located in the typical mollisol region of China was divided into eight segments,each of which was 40 m long and tagged with one of eight REE *** spot method of a partial-area tagging scheme was employed and a grid-based layout was used for REE *** showed that annual soil erosion rate was 3251.01 km^(-2)for the whole runoff plot,in which snowmelt runoff erosion contributed 537.3 t km^(-2),wind erosion 363.11 km-2 and rainfall-runoff erosion 2350.6 t km^(-2).Surface runoff is the main external erosive force of hillslope soil erosion,accounting for 88.8%of the total annual soil ***,for the eight slope segments of the 320-m long hillslope,the sediment transport ratios of each slope segment caused by snowmelt runoff and rainfall-runoff erosion were more than 23.5%and 34.7%,*** results will enrich the understanding of seasonal soil erosion on long hillsiopes.
