A high angular resolution near-infrared image that shows the intensity of polarization for the GG Tau A binary system was obtained with the Subaru Telescope. The image shows a circumbinary disk scattering the light from the central binary. The azimuthal profile of the intensity of polarization for the circumbinary disk is roughly reproduced by a simple disk model with the Henyey-Greenstein phase function and the rayleigh function, indicating there are small dust grains at the surface of the disk. Combined with a previous observation of the circumbinary disk, our image indicates that the gap structure in the circumbinary disk orbits counterclockwise, but material in the disk orbits clockwise. We propose that there is a shadow caused by material located between the central binary and the circumbinary disk. The separations and position angles of the stellar components of the binary in the past 20 yr are consistent with the binary orbit with a = 33.4 AU and e = 0.34.

An exploratory multinuclear magnetic resonance(Mr)and magnetic resonance imaging(MrI)study was performed on lithium-ion battery cells with ^(7)Li,^(19)F,and ^(1)H measurements.A variable field superconducting magnet with a fixed frequency parallel-plate radiofrequency(rF)probe was employed in the *** magnetic field was changed to set the resonance frequency of each nucleus to the fixed rF probe frequency of 33.7 *** cartridge-like lithium-ion cells,with graphite anodes and LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(0.3)Co_(0.2)O_(2)(NMC)cathodes,were *** cell was pristine,and one was charged to a cell voltage of 4.2 *** results presented demonstrate the great potential of the variable field magnet approach in multinuclear measurement of lithium-ion *** methods open the door for developing faster and simpler methods for detecting,quantifying,and interpreting Mr and MrI data from lithium-ion and other batteries.

Using proteomics to compare the molecular structures of sulfide and permeate-depilated sheepskins

An environmentally friendly method using real or artificial bovine milk permeate to both depilate and preserve sheepskins has been reported which completely and cleanly removed the wool from the hair follicle and had no detrimental effects on the skin.A proteomic analysis,assessing the relative abundance of proteins in matched permeate-depilated and chemically depilated(sulfide)sheepskins,showed variations in the levels of specific collagen types in the skin's basement membrane and other proteins associated with the *** findings were corroborated by biochemical analyses of matched permeate depilated and raw skin samples,and provide clues to the mechanism of non-invasiveand complete *** also support the observation that permeate-depilated skins were smoother than their sulfide-depilated counterparts and resulted in leather with a superior surface.

本文从自动驾驶汽车市场发展角度,围绕私人汽车与共享自动驾驶汽车的市场发展特征进行动力学分析.结合自动驾驶技术发展现状,通过选取居民对自动驾驶技术信任度、购买意愿、使用意愿以及共享自动驾驶汽车服务可达性等指标衡量自动驾驶汽车市场发展,提出自动驾驶汽车市场发展系统动力学模型.以北京为例,分析其从2014年至2050年的汽车市场发展情况,以及在2024年至2050年自动驾驶汽车的数量变化情况,并估计自动驾驶汽车的市场份额.结果表明:自动驾驶汽车数量将在2040年超过传统汽车;预计到2050年,自动驾驶汽车市场份额将超过90%.进一步地,构建自动化驾驶技术发展、共享自动驾驶汽车推广等发展方案,对自动驾驶汽车应用场景进行拓展建模分析.结果显示:自动驾驶技术快速发展,将会吸引更多居民使用私人自动驾驶汽车;推广共享自动驾驶汽车,能够有效减少未来私人自动驾驶汽车的购买量.本研究为未来城市自动驾驶汽车发展提供了参考.

The Effects of Different Feeding Practices on the Nutritional Status of Infants below 12 Months Old in the Kumba 1 Sub-Division

Appropriate feeding practices are important during infancy for good health, growth and development of infants and children. WHO revised its earlier recommendation of Exclusive Breastfeeding (EBF) of infants from 4 to 6 months of age to EBF until about 6 months of age, with the addition of complementary foods thereafter. This recommendation confirms that breast milk alone is sufficient to meet infants’ nutritional requirements for the first 6 months of life. The main objective of this study was to investigate the effect of various feeding practices on the Nutritional status of infants 0 - 12-month-old in the Kumba 1 Sub-Division. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted from December 2019 to August 2020. A total of 341 nursing mothers and their infants 0 - 12 months of age were recruited. Socio-demographic factors and the different feeding habits of the children were assessed using a semi-structured questionnaire. Nutritional status was assessed using anthropometric measurements. The overall proportion of infants who exclusively breastfed for 6 months was 69.2% and those who were mix-fed were 30.8% in the study area. The overall prevalence of malnutrition in the population was 61.0%. Among the malnourished children, 53.1% were underweight, 19.6% were wasted and 10.0% were stunted. Though not significant, the prevalence of wasting (21.0%) and underweight (58.3%) was higher among Mix-Fed (MF) children when compared to their EBF counterparts. Feeding practices affected the nutritional status of the infants. Underweight and wasting were observed among infants on Complementary Feeding (CF), although some exclusively breast-fed infants were stunted. Hence, nursing mothers should try as much as possible to practice EBF as recommended by WHO and can practice CF when the child is above six months.

Prevalence of Malnutrition and Anaemia in Children ≤ 5 Years of Age in Some Conflict Hit Areas of Meme Division of the South West region of Cameroon

Malnutrition refers to the deficiency, imbalances, or excesses in a person’s intake of energy or nutrients [1]. Khan defines anaemia as below level of Haemoglobin in red blood shown by a lower number of functioning red blood cells [2]. The crisis in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon has led to several negative effects on children’s living conditions. There has been an increase in malnutrition and anaemia in the South West region and Kumba in particular. The main objective of this study was “to examine the prevalence of malnutrition and anaemia in children ≤ 5 years of age in some conflict-hit areas of Meme Division”. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in 2023 from March to June. We recruited 200 children ≤ 5 years into the study from three hospitals. The regional hospital annex in Kumba, Presbyterian General Hospital Kumba and the Ntam Hospital in Kumba. Socio-demographic factors were assessed using questionnaire, nutritional status was assessed by the use anthropometric measurements and an auto haematology analyser was used to determine anaemia. The overall prevalence of malnutrition in the study area was 40.5%. The prevalence of malnutrition varied significantly (P rall prevalence of anaemia in the study area was 70.5%. The prevalence of anaemia was not significantly associated with the study sites. The prevalence of Malnutrition and Anaemia in children ≤ 5 years of age is very high in the Kumba municipalities. This could be attributed to the ongoing crisis which has caused a lot of social migrations from rural areas to Urban areas which are safer.

Mantle plumes: Why the current skepticism?

The present reappraisal of the mantle plume hypothesis is perhaps the most exciting current debate in Earth science. Nevertheless, the fundamental reasons for why it has arisen are often not well understood. They are that 1) many observations do not agree with the predictions of the original model, 2) it is possible that convection of the sort required to generate thermal plumes in the Earth’s mantle does not occur, 3) so many variants of the original model have been invoked to accommodate conflicting data that the plume hypthesis is in practice no longer testable, and 4) al-ternative models are viable, though these have been largely neglected by researchers. regardless of the final outcome, the present vigorous debate is to be welcomed since it is likely to stimulate new discoveries in a way that unquestioning acceptance of the conventional plume model will not.

Progressive aging of the population and prolonga tion of life expect ancy have led to the ris ng prevalence of heart failure (HF)。Despitethe improvements in medical therapy，the mortality rate of this condition has remained unaccept ably high，becoming t heprimary cause ofdeath in the elderly popul at ion。Almost half of patient swith signs and symptoms of HF are f ound to have a nearly normal ejection fraction，which delineates a distinctclinical syndrome 。known as HF with preserved ejection fraction(HF-PEF) 。While early research focused on the importance of diastolicdys function，more recent studies reported the pathophysological compl exity of the disease with multiple cardiovas 。cular abnormalities contributing to its development and progression。HF-PEF is a challenging maj or health problem with yet no solution as there is no evidence。Based treatment which improves clinical out comes。This review summarizes the state of current knowledge on diagnosis，prognosis and treatment of HF。PEF，with particul ar insights on the pathological characteristics in the elderly population。

We explore the use of the parallel-plate resonator for the study of thin cuboid samples over a wide range of magnetic resonance *** parallel-plate resonator functions at frequencies from tens to hundreds of *** parallel-plate resonators are presented and discussed in a frequency range from 8 to 500 *** resonance experiments were performed on both horizontal and vertical bore magnet systems with lithium and hydrogen ***-plate radiofrequency(rF)probes are easy to build and easy to *** and simulations showed good sensitivity of the parallel-plate rF probe geometry with a small decrease in sensitivity at higher frequencies.
