Meckel's diverticulum diagnosis by video capsule endoscopy: A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Meckel’s diverticulum （MD） occurs predominantly in chil-dren and adolescents. It is rarely diagnosed in adults. Preoperative diagnosis is diffcult due to low sensitivity of the radiological imaging studies. The role of video capsule endoscopy （VCE） in the diagnosis of MD is unknown, and the endoscopic patterns are not defned. We will describe four of our cases of MD evaluated with VCE and make a review of the literature focusing on the endoscopic *** SUMMARYWe present four cases of MD confirmed by surgery. They were all adult males with ages going from 18 to 50 years, referred to our service from 2004 to 2018, due to obscure gastrointestinal bleeding （OGIB）. TheyGarcía-Compeán D et al . Merckel’s diverticulum diagnosis by VCEhad a history of 1 mo to 10 years of overt and occult bleeding episodes. Laboratory blood test showed an iron-deficiency anemia from 4 to 9 g/dL of hemoglo-bin that required multiple hospitalizations and blood transfusions in all cases. Repeated upper digestive endoscopies and colonoscopies were negative. Small bowel was examined with VCE, which revealed double lumen images in all cases, one with polyps and three with circumferential ulcers in the diverticulum. However, based on VCE findings, preoperative diagnosis of MD was suggested only in two patients. Capsule was retain-ed in one patient, which was recovered with surgery. The anatomopathological report revealed ulcerated ectopic gastric mucosa in all *** is useful for the diagnosis of MD. However, endo-scopic characteristics must be recognized in order to establish preoperative diagnosis.

A Cyber-Physical Systems（CPS）,which is an integration of computation,networking and physical processes,plays an increasingly important role in critical infrastructure,government and everyday *** to physical constraints,embedded computers and networks may give rise to some additional security *** vulnerabilities might allow an attacker to penetrate a network,gain access to control software,alter load conditions to destabilize the control system and successful attacks that results in losses of enormous economy benefits or disorder of social *** these reasons,is necessary to detect when several cyber-attacks aiming to the actuator and sensor communication link *** main goal of this research is the detection and description of multiple actuator and sensor cyber-attacks for CPS using the residual information obtained after stochastic cyberattacks to several control and measurement communication *** detection is based on frequency domain transformation technique and auxiliary detection *** the beginning,several stochastic cyber-attacks are designed through Algebraic Riccati Equation,as a reliable method and satisfying Markovian stochastic *** a real world,the hackers might attempt to launch multiple sensors and actuator attacks;for this reason,four cases that demonstrated the feasibility and effectivity of this method are *** conditions of detectability of the cyber-attacks are determined,and cyber-attacks as non-zero solution of the algebraic equations are *** residual information is widely related to stochastic cyber-attacks.A comparison between Kalman filter and algebraic approach is done and the simulation results show that the detection approach is effective and *** presented detection approach is simple and straightforward.

This essay is written in the form of a mosaic. It intersperses simple language, primary and secondary quotes within text, footnotes and epigraphs from classical thinkers and cutting-edge researchers. It invites readers, be they casual or experienced, to a certain play of irony and fantasy in their reflection on the main thrust of the argument. The essay is divided into two parts. The first seeks to introduce the readers to some of the main concerns of frontier science and the Philosophy of Science at the beginning of this millennium： the Universe Models proposed by scientists from fields related to Physics and Mathematics in their eagerness to explain more and more discoveries and to lay out a solid new scientific paradigm. We are convinced that the leap between sidelines and insides--when confronting straightforward style with systematic contrast--does not lessen the rigor of research, and serves to lighten the density of the topic by projecting nuances and resonance onto the logos and its concatenation. It may also serve to vivify field and figure, in order to recreate the fertile delight that generally comes from a good reading of deep *** the second part, we attempt to subtly demonstrate a fortunate discovery： the validity and solidity of the laws of Nature, upheld on the basis of their abstract mathematical expression （the Number Phi （φ）, the goldennumber or golden section）, which despite having faded into oblivion, buried under centuries of disuse in the fields of Aesthetics and Art, has proven to be useful as a critical instrument and a template for concrete solutions that we wish to share. This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of peer-reviewed scientific literature on emerging contaminants published from 2000 through 2019.A total of 4968 documents(among research articles and review papers)collected from Scopus database were analyzed using the VOSviewer 1.6.11 *** to our results,this topic has been capturing researchers’attention over the years and the latter five years of the analysis timespan corresponds to the period of highest scientific productivity on this subject,when a 70.4%of all analyzed documents were *** States,China,Spain,Italy and Canada were the tope5 most productive countries in terms of number of published works,while Science of the Total Environment,Chemosphere,Environmental Science and Pollution Research,Environmental Pollution and Water Research stood out as the journals with the highest number of publications,gathering a 31%of papers and 34%of all *** to the frequency of author keywords,the main specific research topic assessed by the researchers are the occurrence of pharmaceuticals and personal care products in wastewater and the removal of such pollutants by the application of adsorption and advanced oxidation processes.

This paper presents an upper limb exoskeleton that allows cognitive(through electromyography signals)and physical user interaction(through load cells sensors)for passive and active exercises that can activate neuroplasticity in the rehabilitation process of people who suffer from a neurological *** the exoskeleton to be easily accepted by patients who suffer from a neurological injury,we used the ISO9241-210:2010 as a methodology design *** the first steps of the design process,design requirements were collected from previous usability tests and ***,as a second step,a technological solution is proposed,and as a third step,the system was evaluated through performance and user *** part of the technological solution and to allow patient participation during the rehabilitation process,we have proposed a hybrid admittance control whose input is load cell or electromyography *** hybrid admittance control is intended for active therapy exercises,is easily implemented,and does not need musculoskeletal modeling to ***,electromyography signals classification models and features were evaluated to identify the best settings for the cognitive human–robot interaction.

Microwave Application and Anhydrous Cu(OAc)₂ Mediated O-Arylation of Aliphatic Amino Alcohols

Anhydrous Cu(OAc)2 mediated efficient protocol has been developed in the area of C-O coupling from potassium aryltrifluoroborates and aliphatic amino alcohols such as β-hydroxy, γ-hydroxy, and δ-hydroxy amines. The scope of this transformation focuses on direct O-arylation and O-styrylation. The reaction vial loaded with reactants under argon atmosphere is microwaved at 140°C for 30 min to furnish the corresponding cross-coupling product, amino ethers, in good yields.

Interstitial Ectopic Pregnancy Treated with Multi-Dose Methotrexate Protocol

Interstitial ectopic pregnancies are very rare, however, they are extremely dangerous. Treatment consists of either surgical or medical management. This patient presented with no prior pregnancies, an inappropriately rising b-hCG, and eventually had ultrasound findings consistent with interstitial ectopic pregnancy. She was seen through the Emergency Department and had no insurance. She strongly desired to avoid surgery, and was successfully given a multi-dose regimen of methotrexate. Contraindication to methotrexate management includes an inability to follow-up, so a close therapeutic alliance was maintained to enable safe resolution of this case. She has since successfully carried an uncomplicated intrauterine pregnancy to term.

Antibiosis of Cefotaxime/Clindamycin and Lactobacillus acidophilus on Related Bacteria to Diabetic Foot Ulcer

Diabetic foot complications are very common and represent a serious health problem in Mexico because of their high frequency, high costs and difficulties in handling. The treatment of choice to inhibit bacteria related to diabetic foot ulcer consists mainly of the use of cefotaxime however the problem with this treatment (antibiotics) is not always effective due to the pathophysiological condition of the patient, together with the resistance bacteria develop to the drugs. OMS has suggested the use of probiotics for research directed to the development of microbial interference therapies. This project used the Lyophilized conditioned medium with probiotics, extracellulars of probiotics, because there are reports in which wound healing in mice is observed employing probiotics. The objective of this study was to evaluate the biological activity of cefotaxime, clindamycin and thelyophilized conditioned media Lactobacillus acidophilus (LCMLa) on bacterias isolated from diabetic foot ulcer, this bioassay was performed by the turbidimetric method. The macroscopic analysis of the colonies was carried out and the morphological analysis of the bacteria was carried out using the atomic force microscope;in addition, the type of Gram and oxygen requirements for its growth were determined. From the diabetic foot ulcers, three strains were isolated, of which strain 1 and 3 whose morphology corresponds to a bacillus, was susceptible to cefotaxime and to the lyophilized conditioned medium of L. acidophilus. The potential of microbial interference that exhibits L. acidophilus on bacteria related to diabetic foot ulcer is demonstrated.
