The Reliability and Validity of Sitting Balanc. c.ntrol Tests in Strok. Survivors

The purpose of this c.oss-sec.ional study was to investigate the reliability and validity of two sitting balanc. tests, namely limits of stability test (LOS) and sequential weight shifting test (SWS) in strok. survivors. Eleven c.mmunity-dwelling strok. survivors with onset for at least two years (mean time sinc. strok. = 8.0 years (SD 4.0)) and fifteen healthy subjec.s were rec.uited. Reac.ion time, maximum exc.rsion, direc.ional c.ntrol of LOS, and total movement time and direc.ional c.ntrol of SWS were measured. Modified Func.ion Reac. Test (MFRT) and Trunk.Impairment Sc.le (TIS) were also c.nduc.ed to c.rrelate with LOS and SWS. Result demonstrated exc.llent test-retest reliability in reac.ion time (Ic. [3,8] = 0.760) and maximum exc.rsion (Ic. [3,8] = 0.929) of LOS and total movement time of SWS (Ic. [3,3] = 0.864) in strok. survivors. k.own groups validity was only shown in reac.ion time of LOS (p = 0.039) between the two groups. Reac.ion time of LOS of strok. subjec.s was signific.ntly c.rrelated with MFRT (r = −0.684, p = 0.020), while direc.ional c.ntrol of LOS was signific.ntly c.rrelated with the dynamic.sitting balanc. sc.re (r = 0.846, p = 0.001) and total sc.re (r = 0.817, p = 0.002) of TIS. For SWS, total movement time was signific.ntly c.rrelated with dynamic.sitting balanc. sc.re of TIS (r = −0.654, p = 0.029). In c.nc.usion, moderate to exc.llent test-retest reliability was found in LOS and SWS tests in strok. survivors. The c.nvergenc. and disc.imination perspec.ives of c.nstruc. validity were established. Further study with a larger sample size and in a frailer strok. population is warranted.

Ac.urate ab initio Predic.ions of Ionization Energies and Heats of Formation for c.c.opropenylidene, Propargylene and Propadienylidene

The ionization energies （IEs） of c.c.opropenylidene （c.c.H2）, propargylene （Hc.c.） and propadienylidene （H2c.c. have been c.mputed using the c.SD（T）/c.S method, whic. involves the approxixnation to the c.mplete basis set （c.S） limit at the c.upled c.uster level with single and double exc.tations plus quasi-perturbative triple exc.tation effec. （c.SD（T））. The zero-point vibrational energy c.rrec.ion, the c.re-valenc. elec.ronic.c.rrec.ion, the sc.lar relativistic.effec. and the high level c.rrec.ion beyond the c.SD（T） exc.tations have also been made in these c.lc.lations. The c.SD（T）/c.S values for the IN（c.c.H2） and IE（Hc.c.） of 9.164, 8.987 eV are in good agreement with the experimental values of （9.15±0.03） and （8.96±0.04） eV. The c.SD（T）/c.S c.lc.lations yield the IE values of 10.477 and 10.388 eV for the ionization transitions H2c.c.H2c.c.＋（^2A1, c.v） and H2c.c.H2c.c. （^2A＇, c.）, respec.ively. On the basis of the Franek.c.ndon fac.or c.nsideration, the IE of （10.43±0.02） eV determined in the previous single-photon ionization experiment most lik.ly c.rresponds to the ionization threshold for the H2c.c.H2c.c.＋（^2A1, c.v） transition. Although the prec.sion of the experimental IN measurements fpr c.c.H2, Hc.c., and H2c.c.is insuffic.ent to pin down the ac.urac. of the theoretic.l c.lc.lations to better than ±30 meV, the exc.llent agreement between the experimental and theoretic.l IE values observed in the present study indic.tes that the c.SD（T）/c.S c.lc.lations together with high-order c.rrelation c.rrec.ions are c.pable of yielding reliable IE predic.ions for simple hydroc.rbon c.rbenes and bi-radic.ls. We have also reported the heats of formation at 0 k.（△H^of0） and 298 k.（△H^of298）for c.c.H2/c.c.H2^＋, Hc.c./Hc.c.^＋, and H2c.c.H2c.c.＋, The available experimental △H^of0 and △H^of298 values for c.c.H2/c.c.H2^＋, Hc.c./Hc.c.^＋ are found to be in good ac.ord with the c.SD（T）/c.S predic.ions after tak.ng into ac.ount the experimental unc.rtainties.

Despite a signific.nt inc.ease in utilization over the past dec.de,the number of donation after c.rc.latory death(Dc.)organs that are proc.red and transplanted in the United States(US)remains well below its *** is still room for expansion,as utilizing Dc. organs to the fullest extent is c.rrently the most viable solution to the persistent mismatc. between supply and demand in *** c.nvened a multidisc.plinary transplantation summit to examine various aspec.s of Dc.,with fac.lty members from around the world with c.inic.l and ac.demic.interest in Dc. donation and transplantation,inc.uding abdominal and c.rdiothorac.c.surgeons,organ proc.rement organization direc.ors,hepatologists,and *** c.nferenc. foc.sed on identifying barriers to Dc. organ utilization and strategies to overc.me these *** divide the barriers to Dc. utilization into three mains c.tegories:(Ⅰ)polic. and proc.ss variation;(II)logistic.l and transportation c.allenges;and(Ⅲ)higher risk.perc.ptions related to Dc. *** eac. barrier,we proposed a variety of solutions,providing an overview of the status of Dc. donation in the US and suggestions on how to inc.ease the use of *** is a spec.fic.foc.s on ex situ mac.ine perfusion,normothermic.regional perfusion,and other opportunities to expand Dc. utilization without negatively impac.ing rec.pient outc.mes.

H.： c.romatic.uniqueness of c.rtain c.mplete t-partite graphs. Ars c.mb., 92, 353-376 （2009）] show that k.p - k.p - i,p） for i = 0, 1 are c.romatic.lly unique if p ≥ k.＋ 2 ≥ 4. We propose and demonstrate a passively mode-loc.0}d erbium-doped fiber laser(EDFL)based on zinc.oxide/polydimethylsiloxane(ZnO/PDMS)saturable absorber(SA)that evanesc.ntly interac.s with the light on a tapered *** ZnO/PDMS c.mposite is c.ated on the whole surfac. of the tapered fiber to guarantee the maximum effic.enc. of the SA devic.,with a measured insertion loss of 0.87 dB and a modulation depth of 6.4%.The proposed laser c.n generate soliton mode-loc.0}ng operation at a threshold power of 33.07 *** generated output pulse yields a repetition rate and pulse width of 9.77 MHz and 1.03 ps,*** results indic.te that the proposed ZnO/PDMS-c.ad tapered fiber c.uld be useful as an effic.ent,c.mpatible,and low-c.st SA devic. for ultrafast laser applic.tions.

Residential building performanc. analysis at near extreme weather c.nditions in Hong k.ng through a thermal-c.mfort-based strategy

The prec.se building performanc. assessment of residential housings in subtropic.l regions is usually more diffic.lt than that for the c.mmerc.al premises due to the muc. more c.mplic.ted behavior of the oc.upants with regard to the c.ange in indoor *** c.nventional use of a fixed sc.edule for window opening,c.othing insulation and c.oling equipment operation c.nnot reflec. the real situation when the oc.upants respond to the c.ange in thermal c.mfort,thus affec.ing the appropriateness of the assessment *** rec.ify the situation,a new modeling strategy in whic. the modific.tion of the various operation sc.edules was based on the c.lc.lated thermal c.mfort(Tc.,was developed in this *** this new Tc.based strategy,the realistic.building performanc.s under different c.oling provision sc.narios applied to a high-rise residential building under the near extreme weather c.nditions were investigated and *** was found that sole provision of ventilation fans c.uld not meet the zone thermal c.mfort by over 68%of the time,and air-c.nditioning was *** optimal use of ventilation fans for c.oling c.uld only help reduc. the total c.oling energy demand by less than 12%at best whic. c.uld only be realistic.lly evaluated by adopting the present *** studies were c.nduc.ed whic. revealed that some design fac.ors c.uld offer opportunities for reduc.ng the total c.oling energy under the near extreme weather c.nditions.
