Cooperative effect of sodium lauryl sulfate collector and sodium pyrophosphate depressant on the flotation separation of lead oxide minerals from hematite

As a cornerstone of the national economy,the iron and steel industry generates a significant amount of sintering dust containing both valuable lead resources and deleterious *** is a promising technique for lead recovery from sintering dust,but efficient separation from Fe_(2)O_(3) is still *** study investigated the cooperative effect of sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS,C_(12)H_(25)SO_(4)Na)and sodium pyrophosphate(SPP,Na_(4)P_(2)O_(7))on the selective flotation of lead oxide minerals(PbOHCl and PbSO_(4))from hematite(Fe_(2)O_(3)).Optimal flotation conditions were first identified,resulting in high recovery of lead oxide minerals while inhibiting Fe_(2)O_(3) *** potential measurements,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR)analysis,adsorption capacity analysis,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)studies offer insights into the adsorption behaviors of the reagents on mineral surfaces,revealing strong adsorption of SLS on PbOHCl and PbSO_(4) surfaces and remarkable adsorption of SPP on Fe_(2)O_(3).The proposed model of reagent adsorption on mineral surfaces illustrates the selective adsorption behavior,highlighting the pivotal role of reagent adsorption in the separation *** findings contribute to the efficient and environmentally friendly utilization of iron ore sintering dust for lead recovery,paving the way for sustainable resource management in the iron and steel industry.

Reconstruction of particle distribution for tomographic particle image velocimetry based on unsupervised learning method

The development of deep learning has inspired some new methods to solve the 3D reconstruction problem for Tomographic Particle Image Velocimetry (Tomo-PIV). However, the supervised learning method requires a large number of data with ground truth as training information, which is very difficult to gather from experiments. Although synthetic datasets can be used as alternatives, they are still not exactly the same with the real-world experimental data. In this paper, an Unsupervised Reconstruction Technique based on U-net (UnRTU) is proposed to reconstruct volume particle distribution explicitly. Instead of using ground truth data, a projection function is used as an unsupervised loss function for network training to reconstruct particle distribution. The UnRTU was compared with some traditional algebraic reconstruction algorithms and supervised learning method using synthetic data under different particle density and noise level. The results indicate that UnRTU outperforms these traditional approaches in both reconstruction quality and noise robustness, and is comparable to the supervised learning methods AI-PR. For experimental tests, particles dispersed in cured epoxy resin are moved by an electric rail with a certain speed to obtain the ground truth data of particle velocity. Compared with other algorithms, the reconstructed particle distribution by UnRTU has the best reconstruction fidelity. And the accuracy of the 3D velocity field estimated by UnRTU is 12.9% higher than that from the traditional MLOS-MART algorithm. It demonstrates significant potential and advantages for UnRTU in 3D reconstruction of particle distribution. Finally, UnRTU was successfully applied to the high-speed planar cascade airflow field, demonstrating its applicability for measuring complex fluid flow fields at higher particle density.

Fracture mechanism of inclusions in thick plate center under tensile loading

Segregation of solute atoms in the center of thick plates of the tempered steel can cause an inhomogeneous structural transformation and generate micron-sized inclusions,which leads to lamellar tearing of thick plate and decreases the plasticity and *** formation and fragmentation mechanisms of micron-sized inclusions,like MnS and(Nb,Ti)C,in the center of thick plates were investigated by using thermodynamic calculations,finite element simulations,and electron backscatter diffraction characterization *** results show that micron-sized inclusions nucleate and grow in the liquid phase,and under tensile loading,they exhibit three fragmentation *** local stress during the fragmentation of inclusions is lower than the critical fracture stress of adjacent grains,and phase boundaries can effectively impede crack propagation into the *** existence of a low proportion of high-angle grain boundaries(58.1%)and high Kernel average misorientation value(0.534°)in the segregation band promotes inclusions fragmentation and crack *** difference in crack initiation and propagation direction caused by the morphology of inclusions and physical properties,as well as different matrix arrest abilities,is the main reasons for the diversity of inclusion fragmentation.

The study of lithographic variation in resistive random access memory

Reducing the process variation is a significant concern for resistive random access memory(RRAM).Due to its ultrahigh integration density,RRAM arrays are prone to lithographic variation during the lithography process,introducing electrical variation among different RRAM *** this work,an optical physical verification methodology for the RRAM array is developed,and the effects of different layout parameters on important electrical characteristics are systematically *** results indicate that the RRAM devices can be categorized into three clusters according to their locations and lithography *** read resistance is more sensitive to the locations in the array(~30%)than SET/RESET voltage(ngth and the application of the optical proximity correction technique can help to reduce the variation to less than 10%,whereas it reduces RRAM read resistance by 4×,resulting in a higher power and area *** such,we provide design guidelines to minimize the electrical variation of RRAM arrays due to the lithography process.

Predicting Acute Mountain Sickness Using Regional Sea-Level Cerebral Blood Flow

Objective To investigate the role of sea-level cerebral blood flow(CBF)in predicting acute mountain sickness(AMS)using three-dimensional pseudo-continuous arterial spin labeling(3D-pCASL).Methods Forty-eight healthy volunteers reached an altitude of 3,650 m by air after undergoing a head magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)including 3D-pCASL at sea *** CBF values of the bilateral anterior cerebral artery(ACA),middle cerebral artery(MCA),posterior cerebral artery(PCA),and posterior inferior cerebellar artery(PICA)territories and the laterality index(LI)of CBF were compared between the AMS and non-AMS *** analyses were performed to determine the relationship between CBF and AMS,and the predictive performance was assessed using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)*** The mean cortical CBF in women(81.65±2.69 mL/100 g/min)was higher than that in men(74.35±2.12 mL/100 g/min)(Pght MCA were higher in patients with AMS than in those *** CBF in the right PCA best predicted AMS(AUC=0.818).In women,the LI of CBF in the ACA was different between the AMS and non-AMS groups and predicted AMS with an AUC of *** Although the mechanism and prediction of AMS are quite complicated,higher cortical CBF at sea level,especially the CBF of the posterior circulatory system,may be used for prediction in male volunteers using non-invasive 3D-pCASL.

Modelling the water diversion of a sustainable cover system under humid climates

Extreme rainfall significantly threatens the safety of the landfill cover system,especially under humid *** study aims to provide design recommendations for a sustainable landfill cover system consisting of a low-permeability soil layer underlying a two-layer capillary barrier for humid ***,the numerical back-analysis was conducted for verification against a series of flume model ***,a parametric study was performed to investigate the effects of inclination angle,particle size and layer thickness on the lateral diversion length(DL)of the three-layer cover system under the 100-year return period rainfall of humid *** results show that the water lateral DL of the cover system can be greatly enhanced by increasing the inclination angle from 3°to 18°.Moreover,the bottom layer of the cover system with a coarser d10 was more susceptible to the impact of the heavy rainfall,while this can be alleviated by increasing the thickness of the bottom layer.A dimensionless number,defined as the ratio of thickness and d_(10) of the bottom layer,is proposed for designing lateral diversion of the three-layer cover system under humid *** preserve the maximum DL,it is suggested that the proposed dimensionless number should be larger than 95 and 110 for the design of rainfall events with 50-year and 100-year return periods for humid climates,respectively.

Threshold Selection and Resource Allocation for Quantized Identification

This paper is concerned with the optimal threshold selection and resource allocation problems of quantized identification, whose aims are improving identification efficiency under limited resources. Firstly, the first-order asymptotically optimal quantized identification theory is extended to the weak persistent excitation condition. Secondly, the characteristics of time and space complexities are established based on the Cramér-Rao lower bound of quantized systems. On these basis, the optimal selection methods of fixed thresholds and adaptive thresholds are established under aperiodic signals, which answer how to achieve the best efficiency of quantized identification under the same time and space complexity. In addition, based on the principle of maximizing the identification efficiency under a given resource, the optimal resource allocation methods of quantized identification are given for the cases of fixed thresholds and adaptive thresholds, respectively, which show how to balance time and space complexity to realize the best identification efficiency of quantized identification.
