background Necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)is the leading gastrointestinal cause of death in premature infants and causes long-term ***,enteral heparin-binding epidermal growth factor-like growth factor(HB-EgF)administered after birth demonstrated decreased incidence and severity of NEC in a neonatal animal model of *** investigated the potential prophylactic strategy of preventing NEC using prenatally administered *** An HB-EgF(800μg/kg/dose)dose was injected into pregnant rats via tail vein or intraperitoneal route 2 hours prior to *** cesarean section(C-section)at 21 days’gestation,the rat pups were subjected to the NEC protocol by inducing stressors:hypoxia,hypothermia,hypertonic feeds,and orogastric gavage of lipopolysaccharide(2 mg/kg).Postnatally,pups were monitored for 96 hours and assessed for the development of clinical and postmortem histological *** The experimental NEC incidence in untreated,stressed rat pups was 66%.Compared with untreated pups,the maternal administration of HB-EgF correlated with a significant NEC incidence and severity decrease in rat *** strongest decrease was seen when HB-EgF was administered via the intraperitoneal route 2 hours prior to C-section(66%vs 31%,*pgF administration significantly increased pups’survival after NEC protocol exposure,with the greatest benefit observed in the group that received HB-EgF intraperitoneally 2 hours before *** Prenatal administration of HB-EgF decreases the incidence and severity of NEC,preserves gut barrier function and increases *** may represent a novel prophylactic clinical strategy for NEC offered to mothers at risk of delivering a premature infant.

碳化铪(HfC)作为一种超高温材料,在高温结构部件、耐磨部件、场发射阵列等方面都具有潜在的应用前景。本研究采用HfCl4为原料,采用溶液法合成了Hf-O-C前驱体,在1100℃下裂解后得到精细混合的HfO2和C的混合反应粉料,在1200-1800℃、流动氩气下进行碳热还原反应。制备出纳米晶HfC粉料。采用TgA、FTIR等研究了反应过程和合成机理,通过XRD衍射峰的宽化效应测定了平均晶粒尺寸。

30多年的人群研究提供了充分的证据表明高血压对心血管疾病有不利影响。某一人群的平均血压水平同该人群心脑血管病的流行有关。由于观察到平均血压不同的人群其膳食存在着差别,因此对营养素与血压间关系进行直接研究。降低钠盐摄入虽可降低血压,特别是对于已确诊的高血压病人,但目前已知,在一个社会团体内或几个社会团体间钠摄入量的差异只会引起血压的很小变异。许多平均血压低的人群其膳食总脂肪和饱和脂肪酸含量也低。本文评述了膳食脂肪和血压之间可能存在的关系及有关的回顾性。

Radio Frequency-Microchannels for Transdermal Delivery: Characterization of Skin Recovery and Delivery Window

Transdermal delivery through Radio-Frequency-MicroChannels (RF-MCs) was proven to be a promising delivery method for hydrophilic drugs and macromolecules that must be injected. An important issue in assessing this technology is the life span of the microchannels (MCs). The time window in which the MCs remain open affects the delivery rate and determine the effective delivery duration. The present work focused on the characterization of the ViaDor-MCs recovery and closure process by measurements of transepidermal water loss (TEWL) before and after the formation of MCs, evaluation of the delivery window, and assessment of skin histology. Testosterone-cyclodextrin complex was used as the model drug for evaluation of the transdermal delivery. In-vitro permeation system and in-vivo guinea pig animal model were used in the delivery studies. Our findings demonstrate the recovery process of MCs created by the RF ablation technology. The observed gradual skin recovery affected the transdermal delivery rate. A significant transdermal delivery was shown up to 24 hrs post device application suggesting that an extended delivery of water soluble drugs, including macromolecules, is possible. The histology assessments demonstrated repair and healing of the induced MCs indicating that the RF micro-channeling technology is minimally invasive, transient in nature with no resulting skin trauma.

本文报道在300和77K对一组具有不同垒宽Lb的gaAs/Al_(0.23)ga_(0.77)As双量子阱样品的光调制反射谱(PR)的研究结果。除观察到11H,11L和22H等容许跃迁外,同时还识别一个从Al_(0.23)ga_(0.77)As价带顶至量子阱第一电子束缚能级的跃迁,另一个从量子阱第一轻空穴束缚能级至Al_(0.23)ga_(0.77)As导带底的跃迁。利用这些跃迁确定导带边不连续性为0.63。对Lb≤40实验观察到11H和11L跃迁都明显地分裂成对称和反对称分量,对分裂大小的实验值与理论计算作了比较。在77K的11H的PR谱中在高能端明显地出现一个肩形峰,其形状不能用PR标准线形来拟合。如认为它对应于带间跃迁,并由此估计激子的束缚能约为8meV。

Objective: This study was undertaken to determine the proportion of birth weight attributable to glucose concentrations of diabetic mothers. Study design: Data of diabetic women who used insulin were eligible for analysis if the women had been treated during pregnancy for at least 12 weeks, and had recorded at least 50% of 4 daily glucose checks (fasting and 1- hour postprandial) until the last office visit before delivery. The independent association between maternal glucose values and demographics and birth weight percentiles for gestational age and gender were analyzed by multiple regression methods. Results: Data of 90 diabetic women were analyzed. Only third-trimester glucose concentrations were associated with birth weight. Prepregnancy body mass index was also selected in the models, including second-and/or third-trimester glucose. Together, these variables explained 18% of the variance in birth weight percentiles. Conclusion: Maternal glycemia during third-trimester and prepregnancy body mass index are independent predictors of birth weight in pregnancies complicated by insulin-requiring gestational or type 2 diabetes.
