Objective:To assess the epidemiology of urinary schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiasis among women of reproductive age in mwaluphamba,Kwale County,***:A community-based cross-sectional study design was employed to randomly sample 422 women of reproductive age(15-m four villages in mwaluphamba *** specimens were collected and examined using the Kato-Katz method,while filtration technique was used to analyze urine ***’sociodemographic details were obtained using a standardized ***:Urinary schistosomiasis prevalence was at 4.7%(20/422,95%CI 2.8%-6.9%)while the prevalence of soil-transmitted helminthiasis infection was 4.5%(19/422,95%CI 2.6%-6.7%).The infection intensities of urinary schistosomiasis among the study participants ranged from 1 to 120 eggs/10 mL of urine with median egg count of 18.45 eggs/10 *** patients were diagnosed with light infection,of 56.16 egg/gram and 48.48 egg/gram for Trichuris trichiura and hookworms,*** without latrines had 15.7 times higher risk of having urinary schistosomiasis compared to those with a ***,use of surface water(aOR=1.0,95%CI 0.2-1.4,P=0.010)and crossing the river to go to a place(aOR=1.1,95%CI 0.3-1.6,P=0.009)were statistically significant risk factors for getting urinary *** bivariable regression analysis,defecating around the water source(OR=4.3,95%CI 1.5-12.9)had a statistically significant association with the prevalence of soil-transmitted helminthiasis(P=0.008).Conclusions:This study has given an insight on the prevalence and intensity of urinary schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiasis in mwaluphamba location that form a basis for strengthening the control and elimination programmes for these neglected tropical diseases.

mechatronic product development is a complex and multidisciplinary field that encompasses various domains, including, among others, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, control theory and software engineering. The integration of artificial intelligence technologies is revolutionizing this domain, offering opportunities to enhance design processes, optimize performance, and leverage vast amounts of knowledge. However, human expertise remains essential in contextualizing information, considering trade-offs, and ensuring ethical and societal implications are taken into account. This paper therefore explores the existing literature regarding the application of artificial intelligence as a comprehensive database, decision support system, and modeling tool in mechatronic product development. It analyzes the benefits of artificial intelligence in enabling domain linking, replacing human expert knowledge, improving prediction quality, and enhancing intelligent control systems. For this purpose, a consideration of the V-cycle takes place, a standard in mechatronic product development. Along this, an initial assessment of the AI potential is shown and important categories of AI support are formed. This is followed by an examination of the literature with regard to these aspects. As a result, the integration of artificial intelligence in mechatronic product development opens new possibilities and transforms the way innovative mechatronic systems are conceived, designed, and deployed. However, the approaches are only taking place selectively, and a holistic view of the development processes and the potential for robust and context-sensitive artificial intelligence along them is still needed.

With the emergence of SARS-CoV-2,various non-pharmaceutical interventions were adopted to control virus transmission,including school ***,the introduction of vaccines mitigated not only disease severity but also the spread of *** study leveraged an adapted SIR model and non-linear mixed-effects modeling to quantify the impact of remote learning,school holidays,the emergence of Variants of Concern(VOCs),and the role of vaccinations in controlling SARS-CoV-2 spread across 16 german federal states with an age-stratified *** highlight a significant inverse correlation(Spearman's ρ=0.92,pge ***-parameter estimation using the observed number of cases stratified by federal state and age allowed to assess the effects of school closure and holidays,considering adjustments for vaccinations and spread of VOCs over ***,modeling revealed significant(pmong pre-school children(0-4),children(5-11),adolescents(12-17),adults(18-59),and the elderly(60+).The transition to remote learning emerged as a critical measure in significantly reducing infection rates among children and adolescents(pmong the elderly during these periods,suggesting a shift in infection networks due to altered caregiving ***,during school holiday periods,infection rates among adolescents mirrored those observed when schools were *** exercises based on the model provided evidence that COVID-19 vaccinations might serve a dual purpose:they protect the vaccinated individuals and contribute to the broader community's safety.

CT diagnosis of recurrence after pancreatic cancer:Is there a pattern?

AIm:To investigate predilection sites of recurrence of pancreatic cancer by computed tomography(CT)in follow-up after surgery. mETHODS:Seventy seven patients with recurrence after pancreatic cancer surgery were retrospectively *** operative technique,R-status,T-stage and development of tumor markers were evaluated. Two radiologists analyzed CT scans with consensus *** of local recurrence,lymph node recurrence and organ metastases were *** and progression of findings on follow-up CT were con-sidered as reference standard. RESULTS:The mean follow-up interval was 3.9± 1.8 mo,with a mean relapse-free interval of 12.9± 10.4 *** predominant site of recurrence was local (65%),followed by lymph node(17%),liver metastasis (11%)and peritoneal carcinosis(7%).Local recurrence emerged at the superior mesenteric artery(n=28),the hepatic artery(n=8),in an area defined by the surrounding vessels:celiac trunk,portal vein,inferior vena cava(n=22),and in a space limited by the mesenteric artery,portal vein and inferior vena cava(n=17). Lymph node recurrence occurred in the mesenteric root and left lateral to the *** was confirmed by surgery(n=22)and follow-up CT(n=55).Tumor markers[carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9),carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)]increased in accordance with signs of recurrence in most cases(86%CA19-9;79.2% CEA). CONCLUSION:Specific changes of local and lymph node recurrence can be found in the course of the cardinal peripancreatic *** superior mesenteric artery is the leading structure for recurrence.

For number concentration measurements of superfine particles a condensation nucleus counter （CNC） is frequently used. The combination of a new CNC module with a white light aerosol spectrometer and a passive collector makes possible accurate time-resolved determination of particle number within the overall size range of 10 nm to 40 μm and at concentrations up to 10^5 particles/cm^3. With the aerosol spectrometer a high time-resolved particle size determination is also possible in the size range of 0.3-40 μm up to the same high number concentrations of 10^5 particles/cm^3.

The processing of innovative lightweight materials to sheet metal components and assemblies with globally or locally defined properties is the object of this work. It takes a load-dependent design of components and assemblies, for example, based on the composition of different construction materials or a targeted setting of component areas with specified characteristics to fully exploit the lightweight potential when substituting conventionally used materials. Different process chains for the manufacturing of roll-formed long products made of magnesium alloys and high-strength steels with locally defined properties will be presented in this paper. Depending on the kind of material to be formed and the desired product characteristics, different temperature managements are needed for capable processes. Due to limited formability at room temperature, magnesium alloys require a heating of the forming zones above 200–225 °C throughout the bending process in order to activate additional gliding planes and to avoid any failures in the radii. The realization of local hardening effects requires at least one process-integrated heat treatment when roll forming manganese–boron steels. For both processes, it is imperative to realize a heating and cooling down or quenching appropriate for the manufacturing of long products with the required quality. Additionally, proper line speeds that allow a continuously operated economical production have to be considered. Research results including design, FEA, realization and experimentation of the mentioned process chains and strategies will be described in detail.
