Robust ranking of multi-criteria alternatives using value functions compatible with holistic preference information

We present two recent methods,called UTAGMS and GRIP,from the viewpoint of robust ranking of multi-criteria *** these methods,the preference information provided by a single or multiple Decision Makers(DMs)is composed of holistic judgements of some selected alternatives,called reference *** judgements express pairwise comparisons of some reference alternatives(in UTAGMS),and comparisons of selected pairs of reference alternatives from the viewpoint of intensity of preference(in GRIP).Ordinal regression is used to find additive value functions compatible with this preference *** whole set of compatible value functions is then used in Linear Programming(LP)to calculate a necessary and possible weak preference relations in the set of all alternatives,and in the set of all pairs of *** the necessary relation is true for all compatible value functions,the possible relation is true for at least one compatible value *** necessary relation is a partial preorder and the possible relation is a complete and negatively transitive *** necessary relations show consequences of the given preference information which are robust because "always true".We illustrate this methodology with an example.

Accurate evaluation of landslide susceptibility is very important to ensure the safe operation of mountain *** Sichuan-Tibet Highway,which traverses the east of the Tibetan Plateau,frequently encounters natural *** studies generally use statistical methods to analyze the hazards along the Sichuan-Tibet *** this research,we present two road factors,namely aspect to road and road profile to increase the accuracy of landslide susceptibility mapping by considering the influence of landslide movement direction on ***,the aspect to road,which represents the impact of different landslide movement directions on the highway,was extracted by combining road direction with mountain ***,the road profile,which reflects the subgrade structure between the road and surrounding mountains,was extracted according to the terrain ***,the landslide susceptibility maps were produced based on the random forest(RF)method by using 473 landslides and 10 conditioning factors,including road factors(aspect to road,road profile)and primitive factors(slope,aspect,curvature,relief amplitude,peak ground acceleration,crustal movement velocity,faults,rainfall).The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)and the Gini importance were used to evaluate the performance of proposed road *** AUC values on two groups that add road factors and only use primitive factors were 0.8517 and 0.8243,*** Gini importance indicated that road profile(0.123)and aspect to road(0.116)have a significant contribution to landslides compared with the primitive *** results of multi-collinearity analysis and frequency ratio confirmed the suitability of the road factors for predicting hazards along the highway.

The CaO-P_(2)O_(5)-SiO_(2)-MgO system presents several compounds used as biomaterials such as hydroxyapatite(HA),tricalcium phosphate(TCP)and TCP with magnesium substituting partial calcium(TCMP).Theβ-TCMP phase with whitlockite structure has interesting biological features and mechanical properties,meeting the requirements of a bioactive material for bone *** this work,the production of Mg-doped TCP,β-TCMP,has been investigated by crystallization from a glass composed of 52.75 wt%3CaO·P_(2)O_(5),30 wt%SiO_(2)and 17.25 wt%MgO(i.e.,31.7 mol%CaO,10.6 mol%P_(2)O_(5),26.6 mol%MgO and 31.1 mol%SiO_(2))using heat treatments between 775℃and 1100℃for up to 8 *** devitrification process of the glass has been accompanied by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),high-resolution X-ray diffraction(HRXRD),relative density and bending strength *** characterization by HRXRD and DSC revealed the occurrence of whitlockite soon after the bulk glass preparation,a transient non-cataloged silicate between 800℃and 1100℃,and the formation of diopside in samples treated at 1100℃as crystalline *** overall crystalline fraction varied from 26%to 70%depending on the heat ***,contraction of the a-axis lattice parameter and expansion of the c-axis lattice parameter of the whitlockite structure have been observed during the heat treatments,which were attributed to theβ-TCMP formation with the partial substitution of Ca^(2+)by Mg^(2+).Relative densities near 99%and 97%for the glass and glass-ceramics respectively indicated a discrete reduction as a function of the devitrification *** strengths of 70 MPa and 120 MPa were determined for the glass and glass-ceramic material crystallized at 975℃for 4 h,respectively.

Irregular surface flattening,which is based on a boundary conforming grid and the transformation between curvilinear and Cartesian coordinate systems,is a mathematical method that can elegantly handle irregular surfaces,but has been limited to obtaining first arrivals *** combining a multistage scheme with the fast-sweeping method(FSM,the method to obtain first-arrival traveltime in curvilinear coordinates),the reflected waves from a crustal interface can be traced in a topographic model,in which the reflected wavefront is obtained by reinitializing traveltimes in the interface for upwind branches.A local triangulation is applied to make a connection between velocity and interface *** a joint inversion of first-arrival and reflection traveltimes for imaging seismic velocity structures in complex terrains is *** examples all perform well with different seismic velocity *** increasing topographic complexity and even use of a high curvature reflector in these models demonstrate the reliability,accuracy and robustness of the new working scheme;checkerboard testing illustrates the method's high *** tolerance testing indicates the method's ability to yield practical traveltime *** development of the multistage scheme will allow other later arrivals to be traced and used in the traveltime inversion.

To verify systematically the association between the status of physical fitness and the risk of severe Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).This systematic review is in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta Analyses(PRISMA)statement and the eligibility criteria followed the Population,Intervention,Comparison,Outcomes and Study(PICOS)***,Embase,SciELO and Cochrane electronic databases were *** studies that explored the relationship between the pattern of physical fitness and COVID-19 adverse outcomes(hospitalization,intensive care unit admission,intubation,or mortality),were *** quality of the studies was assessed by the specific scale of the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale.A total of seven observational studies were identified in this systematic review;13468 patients were included in one case-control study,two cohort studies,and four cross-sectional *** studies reported an inverse association between high physical fitness and severe COVID-19(hospitalization,intensive care admission,or mortality).Only some studies reported comorbidities,especially obesity and cardiovascular disorders,but the results remained unchanged after controlling for *** quality of the seven studies included was moderate according to the Newcastle-Ottawa Quality Assessment *** methodological heterogeneity of the studies included did not allow a meta-analysis of the *** conclusion,higher physical fitness levels were associated with lower risk of hospitalization,intensive care admissions,and mortality rates among patients with COVID-19.

AIM:To determine,for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),the patient demographic profile and costs of their admissions to the hospitals of the Portuguese National Health System from 1993 to ***:The National Registry(ICD-9CM,Inter-national Classification of Diseases,155.0)provided data from the 97 Hospitals in ***:We studied 7932 admissions that progres-sively rose from 292 in 1993 to 834 in 2005,having a male predominance of 78%(6130/7932).The global rate of hospital admissions for HCC rose from 3.1/105 in 1993 to 8.3/105 in *** average length of stay decreased from 17.5 ± 17.9 d in 1993 to 9.3 ± 10.4 d in 2005,P < *** average hospital mortality for HCC remained high over these years,22.3% in 1993 and 26.7% in ***,hospital costs(in Euros-€)rose in all variables studied:overall costs from €533 000 in 1993,to €4 629 000 in 2005,cost per day of stay from €105 in 1993,to €597 in 2005,average cost of each admission from €1828 in 1993,to €5550 in *** 2005,1.8%(15/834)of hospital admissions for HCC were related to liver transplant,and responsible for a cost of about €1.5 million,corresponding to one third of the overall costs for HCC admissions in that same ***:From 1993 to 2005 hospital admissions in Portugal for HCC *** costs for these admissions increased 9 times,with all variables related to cost analysis rising *** transplant,indicated in a small group of patients,showed a disproportionate increase in costs.
