Effect of Wetting-Drying Cycles on Redistribution of Lead in Some Semi-Arid Zone Soils Spiked with a Lead Salt

Mobility and bioavailability of lead （Pb） could be affected considerably by soil physicochemical properties; however, less is known about the effect of Pb levels and aging time. This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of Pb levels and wetting-drying （WD） cycles on distribution and bioavailability of Pb in three semi-arid zone soils treated with different levels of Pb（NO3）2. Wetting-drying cycles simulated the actual field irrigation in the semi-arid soils. A soil with a long history of Pb contamination was also taken as a reference soil. The soils were spiked with various levels of Pb and incubated under WD cycles for 160 d. Sequential extractions and batch sorption experiments were performed to assess the fractionation of Pb in the spiked soils. Redistribution index （Uts） and reduced partitioning parameter （IR） were applied to semi-quantify the distribution of Pb in the spiked soils. A small amount of Pb sorbed was desorbed by the soils, indicating a strong and irreversible binding of Pb in the studied soils. Contribution of carbonate-bound （Car） and residual （Res） Pb fl＇actions to the total Pb of the soils was more than 97%. The Car, soluble plus exchangeable （SE）, and organic matter-bound （OMB） fractions of Pb were transferred to the Res fraction under the WD cycles. The IR and Uts values were influenced by Pb loading levels and WD; therefore, the Pb lability and/or redistribution pattern could semi-quantitatively be assessed via these parameters. At the end of the experiment, the Ia and Uts values for the Pb salt-spiked soils did not show the quasi- equilibrium state. The lability of Pb in the soils decreased with increasing incubation time and showed a strong dependence on Pb levels and soil chemical composition. WD cycles significantly affected the overall lability of Pb in soils through influencing the redistribution of Pb among solid-phase components.

The relationship between serum zinc levels and rheumatoid arthritis activity

OBJECTIVES： Rheumatoid arthritis （RA） is one of the most prevalent chronic autoimmune diseases; it typically involves the hands, wrists, ankles, and eventually all joints. Some studies have reported that zinc serum levels are lower in patients with RA than in healthy individuals. MATERIALS and METHODS： Seventy-nine patients with RAwere selected. The patients were all less than 75 years old and were diagnosed by a rheumatologist. Serum zinc levels were measured using the flame photometry method with a blood sample of 5 mL. The relationship between the average serum zinc level and disease activity was analyzed based on the DAS28 scoring scale for different RA groups. The significance threshold was set atp 〈 0.05. Data analyses were implemented in SPSS 22.0. RESULTS： There was a significant inverse relationship between the serum zinc levels and disease activity. Chi-square tests were used to compare zinc serum levels with respect to disease activity. There were significant differences in zinc levels among three groups of patients with different levels of disease severity, such that disease activity increased as the serum zinc level decreased （p 〈 0.001）. CONCLUSION： There was a significant inverse relationship between the serum zinc level and RA activity based on the DAS28 score. Therefore, it is recommended that mineral deficiencies should be addressed by optimizing the zinc supply along with other standard medications in order to reduce RA activity.

A Novel High CMRR, Low Power and Low Voltage COS with QFG

A novel high CMRR current output stage (COS) with QFG is presented in this paper. A novel common mode feedback (CMFB) is used to reject the common mode signal in order to achieve high CMRR. The common mode signal is omitted by the technique of adding the main signal and its opposite polarity one. 112 dB of CMRR is obtained in 0.35 μm CMOS technology with ±0.75 v supply voltage and only 182μw power dissipation which shows good improvement compared to the other work in the literature.

A benzoylferrocene modified multi‐wall carbon nanotube paste electrode for the measurement of methionine (MET) concentration is described. MET electrochemical response characteristics of the modified electrode in a phosphate buffer solution of pH 7.0 were investigated by cyclic voltammetry, square wave voltammetry, and chronoamperometry. Under optimized conditions, the square wave voltammetric peak current of MET increased linearly with MET concentration in the range of 1.0×107 to 2.0×104 mol/L. The detection limit was 58.0 nmol/L MET. The diffusion coefficient (D=5.62×106cm2/s) and electron transfer coefficient (α=0.4) for MET oxidation were also determined. The sensor was successfully applied for the measurement of MET concentration in human urine.

The Effect of Tool Construction and Cutting Parameters on Surface Roughness and Vibration in Turning of AISI 1045 Steel Using Taguchi Method

This paper presents an experimental investigation focused on identifying the effects of cutting conditions and tool construction on the surface roughness and natural frequency in turning of AISI1045 steel. Machining experiments were carried out at the lathe using carbide cutting insert coated with TiC and two forms of cutting tools made of AISI 5140 steel. Three levels for spindle speed, depth of cut, feed rate and tool overhang were chosen as cutting variables. The Taguchi method L9 orthogonal array was applied to design of experiment. By the help of signal-to-noise ratio and analysis of variance, it was concluded that spindle speed has the significant effect on the surface roughness, while tool overhang is the dominant factor affecting natural frequency for both cutting tools. In addition, the optimum cutting conditions for surface roughness and natural frequency were found at different levels. Finally, confirmation experiments were conducted to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the Taguchi method in optimizing the cutting parameters for surface roughness and natural frequency.

本研究检验了工作场所八卦如何影响员工的感知企业社会责任与组织公民行为之间的关系。某互联网企业的230份员工-领导匹配纵向数据表明,工作意义感能部分中介感知企业社会责任与组织公民行为之间的正向关系。此外,高水平的积极工作场所八卦以及低水平的消极工作场所八卦能够显著增强感知企业社会责任与工作意义感之间的直接关系以及与组织公民行为之间的间接关系,而低水平的积极工作场所八卦以及高水平的消极工作场所八卦则难以发挥类似的作用。结合工作特征模型和社会判断理论,以上发现加深了对感知企业社会责任与组织公民行为相互关系的理解,并为管理理论和实践做出了一定的贡献。
