Wind direction nowcasting is crucial in various sectors,particularly f.r ensuring aviation operations and *** this context,the TELMo(Time-series Embeddings f.om Language Models)model,a sophisticated deep learning architecture,has been introduced in this work f.r enhanced wind-direction *** by using three years of.data f.om multiple stations in the complex terrain of.an international airport,TELMo incorporates the horizontal u(east-west)and v(north-south)wind components to signif.cantly reduce f.recasting *** a day with high wind direction variability,TELMo achieved mean absolute error values of.5.66 f.r 2-min,10.59 f.r 10-min,and 14.79 f.r 20-min f.recasts,processed within a swif. 9-ms/step *** degree-based analysis,in comparison,yielded lower perf.rmance,emphasizing the ef.ectiveness of.the u and v *** contrast,a Vanilla neural network,representing a shallow-learning approach,underperf.rmed in all analyses,highlighting the superiority of.deep learning methodologies in wind direction *** is an ef.icient model,capable of.accurately f.recasting wind direction f.r air traf.ic operations,with an error less than 20°in 97.49%of.the predictions,aligning with recommended international *** model design enables its applicability across various geographical locations,making it a versatile tool in global aviation meteorology.

The present study aimed to determine whether natural dehydrated f.ed (DNf. can replace dry extruded f.ed while preserving the required daily intake, nutrient digestibility and benef.ts f.r immunity and antioxidant response in cats. The animals were divided into two groups of.seven animals each. One group received DNf. and the other consumed commercial extruded dry f.ed (DCf.. The experiment lasted 45 days and we measured daily consumption and collected blood and f.ces samples. The animals in the DNf.group showed greater digestibility of.f.ber and mineral matter than DCf. Cats in the DNf.group had a higher volume of.f.ces. DNf.cats had lower leukocyte and granulocyte counts and cholesterol levels. Serum enzymatic antioxidant responses and non-enzymatic were higher in DNf.cats. Cats in the DNf.group showed lower serum acute phase proteins in addition to a tendency toward a higher concentration of.transf.rrin than in the DCf.group. f.cal Escherichia coli and total colif.rm counts of.cats f.d DNf.were higher than DCf. We conclude that the daily consumption of.cats is adequate. This f.ed had greater digestibility of.f.ber and mineral matter, in addition to an improvement in antioxidant and immunological responses.

With the increase in antimicrobial resistance,it has become necessary to explore alternative approaches f.r combating and preventing ***-cinnamaldehyde(CNM)and Benzyl4-amino(B4AM)are bioactive compounds derived f.om chalcones but with restricted solubility in aqueous *** can enhance the solubility of.compounds and can be a promising alternative in the development of.novel antimicrobials,with reduced side ef.ects and prolonged *** objective of.this study was to evaluate the stability of.oil-in-water nanoemulsions loaded with two distinct types of.chalcones at two dif.erent dosages,to propose a stable f.rmulation with antimicrobial *** showed that nanoemulsions presented high encapsulation ef.iciency,low polydispersity index(PDI)and particle size below 200 nm,indicating that emulsif.cation was a suitable method f.r nanoemulsion *** with higher dosages exhibited signif.cant antimicrobial ef.ects when compared to f.ee chalcones and positive ***,B4AM nanoemulsions at higher dosages showed expressive activity against Salmonella minnesota,with a 420%greater inhibitory response compared to the f.ee f.rm and showing equivalence to the positive *** nanoemulsions showed excellent inhibitory activity at the highest dosage,equivalent to the positive control against *** and Staphylococcus *** greater number of.conjugated bonds in CNM increased the antimicrobial activity in comparison with B4AM,and the f.rmation of.nanometric domains enhanced the bioavailability,being a promising alternative f.r antimicrobial applications.

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a disabling disease that can af.ect 6% to 12% of.the adult population and more than a third of.people over 65 years of.age. Purpose: To assess whether a group of.people with hand osteoarthritis (hOA) who received dif.erent types of.treatment improved their f.nction af.er two years of.f.llow-up. Method: The entire sample (n = 97) underwent three f.llow-up assessments regarding anthropometric parameters of.the upper limbs and ability to perf.rm f.nctional activities. Subsequently, the sample was divided into two groups f.r the intervention periods, called the f.rst Period (n = 73) and the Second Period (n = 24);the f.rst Period kept the same protocol with orientations, and the Second Period went to an intervention with orientation strength exercises and use of.orthosis. f.ndings: In the separate analysis of.the three questions of.the DASH pain module, no dif.erences were f.und between the assessment moments f.r groups of.guidelines, treatment, or symptoms. Signif.cant ef.ects were observed f.r f.2, 162) = 3.5, p = 0.033, η2 = 0.04, and interaction f.r moments and intervention f.2, 162) = 4.3, p = 0.016, η2 = 0.05. Implications: It can be concluded that only guidance treatment does not benef.t patients with hand osteoarthritis. In contrast, guidance, exercise, and orthosis treatment can signif.cantly improve the disease.

Surf.ce topographies of.cell culture substrates can be used to generate in vitro cell culture environments similar to the in vivo cell niches. In vivo, the physical properties of.the extracellular matrix (ECM), such as its topography, provide physical cues that play an important role in modulating cell f.nction. Mimicking these properties remains a challenge to provide in vitro realistic environments f.r cells. Artif.cially generated substrates’ topographies were used extensively to explore this important surf.ce cue. More recently, the replication of.natural surf.ce topographies has been enabling to exploration of.characteristics such as hierarchy and size scales relevant f.r cells as advanced biomimetic substrates. These substrates of.er more realistic and mimetic environments regarding the topographies f.und in vivo. This review will highlight the use of.natural surf.ce topographies as a template to generate substrates f.r in-vitro cell culture. This review starts with an analysis of.the main cell f.nctions that can be regulated by the substrate’s surf.ce topography through cell-substrate interactions. Then, we will discuss research works wherein substrates f.r cell biology decorated with natural surf.ce topographies were used and investigated regarding their inf.uence on cellular perf.rmance. At the end of.this review, we will highlight the advantages and challenges of.the use of.natural surf.ce topographies as a template f.r the generation of.advanced substrates f.r cell culture.

This work is f.cused on the combination of.two building-blocks, nanocrystalline TiO2 particles and polyaniline conductive f.lms （PAni）. The preparation of.new nanostructured composite materials, displaying electron- and proton-conductive properties, to be used f.r the f.brication of.new and superior energy storage devices was envisaged. The semiconducting TiO2 nanoparticles were obtained by means of.a hydrothermal route. The PAni f.lms were prepared on glassy carbon electrodes by electrochemical polymerization, under potential dynamic conditions. Af.er characterization by X-ray dif.raction, transmission electron microscopy or scanning electron microscopy and electrochemical techniques, the nanocrystalline particles were immobilized in the polymer matrix. The incorporation of.the TiO2 was achieved using two distinct approaches： during the polymer growth or by deposition over previously prepared PAni f.lms. The results demonstrate that the PAni morphology depends on the experimental conditions used during the polymer growth. Af.er TiO2 immobilization, the best electrochemical response was obtained f.r the nanocomposite structure produced through the TiO2 incorporation af.er the PAni f.lm synthesis. The modif.ed electrodes were structurally and morphologically characterized and their electro-catalytic activity towards the hydrogen evolution reaction was analyzed. A new electrochemical perf.rmance related with the oxidation of.molecular hydrogen entrapped in the PAni-TiO2 matrix was observed f.r the modif.ed electrode af.er TiO2 incorporation. This behavior can be directly associated with the synergetic combination of.the TiO2 and PAni, and is dependent on the amount of.the semiconductor.
