Dental plaque in adult patients is well identified as a reservoir for Helicobacter pylori. This question still remains unclear in children. The aim of this study is to identify the presence of this bacterium in dental plaque of Mexican pediatric patients, using Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR). forty patients from 2 to 11 years without dyspeptic symptoms were enrolled. Samples were collected from the subgingival space of the lingual side of the lower molars and cultured in selective medium. Therefore, qPCR analysis was conducted. According to the results obtained in this study, it was found that 35% of the pediatric population who participated tested qPCR positive for the presence of H. pylori in dental plaque samples. No significant associations were detected among isolation rate by gender or age. We found that dental plaque may be a reservoir for H. pylori. However, more research is needed to establish the way of the infection of pediatric population.

The diversity of existing food may decrease malnutrition through the consumption of underutilized species. In Mexico, the ＂charal＂ fish Chirostoma spp. is grouped in five species： Chirostoma grandocule, Chirostoma patzcuaro, Chirostoma humboltianum, Chirostoma attenuatum and Chirostomajordani which live in lakes in the country, and they are not consumed or their demand is low The objective of this research was to analyze the macronutrients of Chirostomajordani charal and inform population their nutritional value to increase human nutrition. Sampling was provided at Xochimilco channels in Xochimilco, D.f., summer and winter seasons at 2009. fish （200 g） were maintained in channels water for proximal analysis according AOAC methods （1995）. The results in dry bases were： protein 74.36%, lipids 1.24%, fiber 0.27%, minerals 4.9%, and soluble carbohydrates 19.23%. This fish grants protein, plastic material essential for human development： its lipid and carbohydrate contents, sources of energy, are low; however, the excess of disseminated proteins increase the energy sources. fiber is found in a minimum amount. Dehydrated charales may be stored without refrigeration up to 3 months, maintaining their nutritional value. Consumption of the charal should be considered in the basic diet for its nutritional properties, to diminish malnutrition in the Mexico and other countries.

Background: To investigate the effects of the association of semi-ablative fractional radiofrequency (Rff) with growth factors in stretch marks. Methods: This is a randomized controlled trial. The sample consisted of 28 female patients with complaints of gluteus or abdomen striae and divided into 2 equitable groups, named G1 (semi-ablative Rff without active principle association) and G2 (semi-ablative Rff with active principle association), being subdivided into G-1A and G-2A (abdominal applications) and G-1B and G-2B (gluteus applications). A photographic and histological analysis was performed using questionnaires about inflammation, presence of adverse effects and satisfaction of volunteers. Photographic analysis showed a reduction in the amount of striae alba in all groups. Results: The histological analysis showed an increase in fibroblast activity, collagen type I, and blood vessels, especially in the groups that associated the Rff with the active principle. In the inflammation analysis, the groups that performed intervention with active ingredients showed lower inflammatory signal. All groups had a reasonable level of satisfaction after the interventions;however, the group that used active ingredients reported greater results. Conclusion: The association of semi ablative Rff with growth factors showed a reduction in clinical inflammatory signs, mainly in the first 15 days, as well as higher collagen production, verified in 30 days, with satisfactory clinical results in all groups.

Cuticles of some Chrysina scarabs are characterized by flat, graded, and twisted structures of nanosized chitin fibrils. As inferred from SEM images, each species has its own spatial period or pitch P which is dependent on the depth z through the cuticle. from Berreman’s formalism, taking into account the corresponding P(z) dependence, we evaluate reflection spectra of C. aurigans and C. chrysargyrea scarabs. The spectra display the main spectral features observed in the measured ones when small sections of the cuticles are illuminated with non-polarized light, for wavelengths between 300 and 1100 nm. By considering these twisted structures as 1D photonic crystals, an approach is developed to show how the broad band characterizing the reflection spectra arises from a narrow intrinsic photonic band width, whose spectral position moves through visible and near infrared wavelengths. The role of the epicuticle that covers the twisted structures is analyzed in terms of a waxy layer acting as an anti-reflecting coating that also shows low levels of light scattering.

The effectiveness of breast cancer ablation by radiofrequency (Rf) has been associated to the capacity of concentrating the electromagnetic energy in the tumor region, our group has proposed that this condition could be modulated by appropriate Rf exposure cycle times as well as modification of tissue electrical conductivity. The aim of this work was to evaluate analytical and experimental optimal exposure cycle times to induce tissue ablation by Rf assisted with magnetic nanoparticles. The study was conducted both analytically by multiphysics simulation of the induced currents in cancer tissue given a magnetron source and experimentally by the observation of hyperthermic effects induced in agar phantoms by a magnetron device by the use of Rf assisted with magnetic nanoparticles. The temperature showed significant increases in short periods of time, and was clearly higher under the condition with nanoparticles. Appropriate Rf exposure cycle times as well as modification of tissue electrical conductivity by magnetic nanoparticles seems suitable factors to modulate the electromagnetic energy in tumoral regions.

The effect of chronic administration of the sigma agonist: 1,3-di-o-tolyl-guanidine (DTG), in neonatal ventral hippocampal lesioned (nVHL) rats, on the immobility by clamping and dorsal immobility, were investigated. The nVHL increases the duration of immobility by clamping, but does not affect the duration of the dorsal immobility. We found that DTG augments the duration of the dorsal immobility in the unlesioned rats, but does not modify the duration of immobility induced by clamping the neck. DTG also counteracts the increase in the duration of the immobility by clamping produced by nVHL. However, the increase in the duration of the dorsal immobility produced by DTG is counteracted by nVHL. These results are discussed with respect to the differential effect on the two immobility responses tested, suggesting that they are different forms of immobility mediated by different mechanisms although they behaviorally share common characteristics.

背景肥胖患者的呼吸以及气体交换的生理改变可能导致麻醉气体作用的起效和消除延迟。本研究评估了肥胖对七氟醚及BIS值之间“滞后”效应的影响。因为呼气末正压（positiveend-expiratorypressure，PEEP）可改善肥胖患者的气体交换，所以我们也同时评估了PEEP对该“滞后”效应的影响。方法前瞻性研究了15例肥胖和15例体重正常的ASAI级和Ⅱ级、20-50岁、择期行全麻下腹腔镜手术的患者。麻醉诱导使用丙泊酚，维持使用七氟醚和芬太尼。手术结束后将BIS值维持稳定在60～65，然后将七氟醚吸入浓度增加至5v01％，持续5分钟或至BIS〈40为止，然后降低吸入浓度。正常体重患者七氟醚浓度变换一次（无PEEP），肥胖患者浓度变换两次（一次无PEEP，一次PEEP=8cm H2O）。七氟醚浓度变换期间七氟醚呼末浓度和BIS之间的“滞后”效应通过抑制性Emax模型建模，使用的是NONEMN（非线性混合效应模型）第VI版的群体药代动力学／药效动力学（pharmacokinetic／***／PD）方法。对七氟醚吸入和呼出浓度、BIS值和达不同BIS终点的时间等指标的描述性分析也被用于比较PK和PD特征。结果所有患者均完成研究。数据完全符合PK／PD模型。体重指数或PEEP对“滞后”效应无影响（P〉0．05），“滞后”效应使用效应室消除率常数表示。肥胖和PEEP均未显示对PK／PD的相关指标有影响。结论结果未显示七氟醚（低血溶解度麻醉药）吸入麻醉90～120分钟后肥胖患者的诱导或恢复时间将延长。
