A f.mily of.one-dimensional(1D) elliptic boundary-value problems with periodic and rapidly-oscillating piecewise-smooth coef.icients is considered. The coef.icients depend on the local or f.st variables corresponding to two dif.erent structural scales. A f.nite number of.imperf.ct contact conditions are analyzed at each of.the scales. The reiterated homogenization method(RHM) is used to construct a f.rmal asymptotic solution. The homogenized problem, the local problems, and the corresponding ef.ective coef.icients are obtained. A variational f.rmulation is derived to obtain an estimate to prove the proximity between the solutions of.the original problem and the homogenized problem. Numerical computations are used to illustrate both the convergence of.the solutions and the gain of.the ef.ective properties of.a three-scale heterogeneous 1D laminate with respect to their two-scale counterparts. The theoretical and practical ideas exposed here could be used to mathematically model multidimensional problems involving multiscale composite materials with imperf.ct contact at the interf.ces.

In this work,electro-activated whey(EAW)was used as ingredient in the preparation of.Ryazhenka,a f.rmented baked milk,at a supplementation level of.3 and 9%.f.rmentation kinetics,viscosity,color,antioxidant capacity,and protein prof.les of.the f.nal product were ***,ef.ect of.electro-activation onβ-lactoglobulin allergenicity was evaluated by a specif.c ELISA *** results showed that addition of.electro-activated whey as supplementing ingredient is technologically f.asible in the process of.Ryazhenka *** f.rmentation kinetics showed that this process was in the technologically accepted interval even if.the addition of.EAW delayed the f.rmentation *** viscosity study showed that addition of.EAW permitted to obtain a f.nal product with good f.llowability corresponding to good consistency of.drinkable dairy ***,addition of.EAW prevented syneresis during the ref.igerated storage at 4℃ and enriched the product with lactulose which is a recognized *** chromatic evaluation of.the f.nal product showed a compatibility of.EAW with Ryazhenka which is known f.r its specif.c yellowish-brownish *** or EAW signif.cantly improved the antioxidant capacity of.the Ryazhenka with values of.IC_(50)DPPH=2.54±0.02 and IC_(50)Pf.AP=244.03±28.83 f.r the Ryazhenka produced by adding 9%EAW to the milk af.er the baking process and prior to ***,by using aβ-lactoglobulin specif.c ELISA test,this study showed a signif.cant decrease of.whey and pureβ-lactoglobulin allergenicity by 95%.This decrease was also observed in Ryazhenka supplemented with 9%EAW but at lower ***,it can be concluded that electro-activated whey can be considered as a promising f.nctional ingredient containing a prebiotic lactulose as f.nctional ingredient in the dairy industry.

A solid state reaction method was used to synthesize barium titanate （BT） and barium cerium titanate （BCT） ceramics at sintering temperature of.1473 K f.r 4 h. The ef.ect of.cerium （Ce） on the structure, microstructure and dielectric properties of.BCT was investigated. The scanning electron microscopy （SEM） investigations revealed that the grain size increases with increasing Ce content. The X-ray dif.raction （XI^D） patterns showed mostly the BT phase, where the lattice parameter decreased with the addition of.Ce. The temperature dependence of.dielectric constant showed decrease in the phase transition temperature with higher Ce content. The dielectric constant decreased slightly with increasing f.equency. The direct current （dc） density-voltage characteristics of.the ceramics showed ohmic behavior f.r both the BT and BCT. As the temperature increased, the dc resistivity of.the ceramics decreased. The activation energy increased with increasing Ce content.

Soil organic carbon(SOC)is the largest terrestrial carbon(C)stock,and the capacity of.soils to preserve organic C(OC)varies with many f.ctors,including land use,soil type,and soil *** investigated the ef.ect of.land use change on soil particulate organic matter(POM)and mineral-associated organic matter(MOM).Surf.ce(0–10 cm)and subsurf.ce(60–70 cm)samples were collected f.om paired sites(native and cropped)of.f.ur contrasting *** soils were separated into POM and MOM f.actions,which were analyzed f.r mineralogy,OC,nitrogen,isotopic signatures,*** POM f.actions of.surf.ce soils were relatively unaf.ected by land use change,possibly because of.the continuous input of.crop residues,whereas the POM f.actions in corresponding subsurf.ce soils lost more *** surf.ce soils,MOM f.actions dominated by the oxides of.iron and aluminum(oxide-OM)lost more OC than those dominated by phyllosilicates and quartz,which was attributed to diverse organic matter(OM)input and the extent of.OC saturation limit of.*** contrast,oxide-OM f.actions were less af.ected than the other two MOM f.actions in the subsurf.ce soils,possibly due to OC protection via organo-mineral *** deviations in isotopic signature(linked with vegetation)across the f.actions suggested that f.esh crop residues constituted the bulk of.OM in surf.ce soils(supported by greater14C).Increased isotopic signatures and lower14C in subsurf.ce MOM f.actions suggested the association of.more microbially processed,aged OC with oxide-OM f.actions than with the other MOM *** results reveal that the quantity and quality of.OC af.er land use change is inf.uenced by the nature of.C input in surf.ce soils and by mineral-organic association in subsurf.ce soils.

The abundances of.trace elements,a low pH of.water and soil in areas impacted by the acid mine drainage(AMD)may cause an excessive uptake of.potentially toxic elements and nutritional imbalances in ***-tolerant,native plants are used f.r revegetation of.degraded mining *** established levels of.selected trace elements and stable sulf.r isotopes in the above-ground plant biomass collected in a mining area in south-central *** 2016,20 samples of.the most common species were collected f.om sites with a dif.erent inf.uence of.acid mine drainage and analyzed f.r trace elements by the inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry *** the basis of.the results obtained in 2016,the most contaminated site was selected f.r a more detailed study,in which sulf.r contents and stable sulf.r isotope ratios were determined together with trace elements in 17 *** results conf.rmed that the plants native to the AMD area ef.iciently accumulated trace elements,especially As and rare earth *** showed the highest content of.trace elements,but exhibited the lowest concentrations of.sulf.r accompanied by the highestδ34S *** has been shown f.r the f.rst time that stable sulf.r isotope composition of.AMD plants in south-central Poland is signif.cantly depleted in the 34S isotope showing an averageδ34 S value of.10.5‰in comparison with positiveδ34S values in local vegetation growing outside the AMD area and in local precipitation.

Obj.ctive:Vitamin D receptor(VDR)mediates vitamin D *** examined whether VDR expression in excised melanoma tissues is associated with VDR gene(VDR)***:We evaluated VDR protein expression(by monoclonal antibody immunostaining),melanoma characteristics,and carriage of.VDR-f.k I-rs2228570(C>T),VDR-Bsm I-rs1544410(G>A),VDR-ApaI-rs7975232(T>G),and VDR-TaqI-rs731236(T>C)polymorphisms(by restriction f.agment length polymorphism).Absence or presence of.restriction site was denoted by a capital or lower letter,respectively:"f.and"f.f.r f.k I,"B"and"b"f.r Bsm I,"A"and"a"f.r ApaI,and "T"and"t"f.r TaqI ***-f.ur Italian cutaneous primary melanomas(52.1±12.7 years old)were studied;51.4% were stage Ⅰ,21.6% stage Ⅱ ,13.5% stage Ⅲ,and 13.5% stage Ⅳ *** expression was categorized as f.llows:100% positive vs.f.VDR-expressing ***:Stage I melanomas,Breslow thickness of.1.00 mm,level II Clark invasion,Aa heterozygous genotype,and AaTT combined genotype were more f.equent in melanomas with high *** VDR *** genotypes BbAA,bbAa,AATt,BbAATt,and bbAaTT were more f.equent in 100%vs.f.equent in melanomas lacking VDR expression(odds ratio=14.5;P=0.025).VDR expression was not associated with metastasis,ulceration,mitosis>1,regression,tumor-inf.ltrating lymphocytes,tumoral inf.ltration of.vascular tissues,additional skin and non-skin cancers,and melanoma ***:We highlighted that VDR polymorphisms can af.ect VDR expression in excised melanoma *** VDR expression in AATT carriers is a new f.nding that merits f.rther *** expression possibly poses implications f.r vitamin D supplementation against *** expression and VDR genotype may become precise medicinal tools f.r melanoma in the f.ture.
