Pipelines a.e system of pipes designed to tra.sport liquids, ga.es or solid/ liquid mixtures over long dista.ces. Some a.e used for domestic, household a.d sewa.e purposes. Others a.e buried underground or submerged in wa.er for tra.sporta.ion of na.ura. oil a.d ga. (O & G) products. In this work, the specimens ha. to be kept in a.worka.le sta.e a.d steps were ta.en to prepa.e ea.h specimen: a.l cuts a.d shea.ed edges were ground out to prevent them from becoming sites for preferentia. a.ta.k. The finishing of the specimen surfa.e with grit a.ra.ive pa.er (sa.d pa.er) a.d rinsing of the specimens in distilled wa.er were done. Then degrea.ing of specimen in a.etone a.d a.r-dried were ca.ried out. Upon drying, the specimens were immedia.ely weighed to obta.n their initia. weights. Twelve specimens were used for the test a. follows: 6 a.uminum (a.);a.d 6 mild steel (MS) sa.ples. With a.2 M concentra.ion of Vernomia.a.yda.ina.(Va. extra.t solution, the MS a.d a. sa.ples were immersed in different pla.tic conta.ners conta.ning 400 ml of sea.a.er with pH va.ue of 7.25 with no (0%) inhibitor a.ded to it. a.5% (400 ml) of the Va.solution wa. poured into the mea.uring cylinder for ea.h sa.ple-a. a.d MS. The specimens were suspended by the strings a.d completely immersed in the different percenta.e test media. The sa.e procedure wa. ca.ried out for ea.h of the different percenta.es, 10%, 15%, 20%, a.d 25% a.d a.tota. of 12 solutions were set up. The experimenta. procedure used wa. tha. sea.a.er of 7.25 pH wa. obta.ned from a.onnema.wa.er front of Rivers Sta.e. a. the end of every week (168 hours), the specimens were removed from the corrosive media. Observa.ion a.d recording of a.pea.a.ce of the specimen noting sites were done. Clea.ings of specimen with white ha.dkerchief or tissue pa.er were ca.ried out a.d wa.hing of specimen with distilled wa.er, scrubbing of specimen with a.soft brush a.d dipping the specimen into a.etone a.ter wa.hing, it wa. removed to a.r-dry a.d weig

Surge a.d sta.l a.e the two ma.n types of insta.ilities tha. often occur on the compressor system of ga. turbines. The effect of this insta.ility often lea.s to excessive vibra.ion due to the ba.k pressure imposed to the system by this phenomenon. In this work, fouling wa. observed a. the ma.or ca.se of the compressor insta.ility. a.step to a.a.yze how this phenomenon ca. be controlled with the continuous exa.ina.ion of the vibra.ion a.plitude using a.computer a.proa.h led to the execution of this work. The forces resulting to vibra.ion in the system is usua.ly externa. to it. This externa. force is a.rodyna.ic a.d the effect wa. modeled using force da.ped vibra.ion a.a.ysis. a.ga. turbine pla.t on industria. duty for electricity genera.ion wa. used to a.tua.ize this resea.ch. The da.a.for a.plitude of vibra.ion va.ied between -15 a.d 15 mm/s while the given ma.s flow ra.e a.d pressure ra.io were determined a. fa.ling between 6.1 to 6.8 kg/s a.d 9.3 to 9.6 respectively. a.computer progra. na.ed VICOMS written in C++ progra.ming la.gua.e wa. developed. Ba.kground: One of the key strategies in the HIV/AIDS prevention and control programs in Nigeria is Voluntary HIV counseling and testing (VCT). However, its utilization among young adults, particularly undergraduates, is very low. The aim of the present study was to determine the prevalence and predictors of non-uptake of VCT among undergraduates. Methods: A cross sectional study using quantitative methods was conducted. Using simple random sampling, three faculties were selected out of nine and 422 respondents were selected from three faculties. Interviews were conducted using pre-tested semi-structured questionnaires. Data analysis was done using statistical package for social sciences version 20. Prevalence was measured by the percentage of respondents that had never used VCT. Analytical statistics were done using chi-square test to measure strength of association between VCT uptake and knowledge and attitude of respondents. Association with P-valuea.> 0.05 was considered significant. Logistic regression was used to identify predictors of non-uptake of VCT. The associations were presented as odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals. Results: Overall, 59.3% of respondents were knowledgeable about VCT while majority, 64.7% had negative attitude towards it. The proxima.e, micronutrient a.d a.ino a.id profile of roa.ted a.d germina.ed brea.nut seed flour were eva.ua.ed. Fresh ma.ure fruits (1.5 kg) of brea.nut were purcha.ed from Relief ma.ket in Imo Sta.e, Nigeria. The brea.nut seeds were divided into three portions for different unit opera.ions, na.ely ra., roa.ted a.d germina.ed. Sa.ples were a.a.yzed for proxima.e, minera.s a.d a.ino a.ids compositions. Sta.istica. significa.ce wa. set a. p a.d fa. (7.90%) content were significa.tly higher (p a.ed brea.nut seeds;fibre (2.20%) a.d a.h (7.20%) were significa.tly higher (p a.ted brea.nut seed while ca.bohydra.e (75.85%) a.d moisture (11.05%) were significa.tly higher (p a. brea.nut. Micronutrient composition shows tha. iron (74.35 mg/100g) wa. higher in roa.ted brea.nut seed, phosphorous (12.95 mg/100g) a.d zinc (30.4 mg/100g) were higher in germina.ed brea.nut seed flour while ca.cium (0.04%), ma.nesium (0.05%), vita.in a.(0.27%) a.d vita.in C (0.85%) were higher in ra. brea.nut. a.l the essentia. a.ino a.ids except norleucine were present in the brea.nut in va.ying qua.tities. Between roa.ting a.d germina.ion, essentia. a.ids;va.ine a. were more in germina.ed brea.nut seeds while leucine a.a.ine a.ted brea.nut seed flour. The use of roa.ting a.d germina.ion should be used in processing brea.nut seeds.
