BACKGROUND Renal cell carcinoma(RCC)is the third most common malignancy in the genitourinary *** lungs,bone,lymph nodes,liver,and brain are common metastatic sites of ***,there is limited literature on single omental metastasis of *** SUMMARY We present the case of a 44-year-old man with single omental metastasis of RCC after laparoscopic radical *** diagnosis of the resected left kidney revealed pT3a clear cell RCC(Fuhrman grade III).At 6 mo postoperatively,abdominal computed tomography revealed a 12-mm enhancing nodule in the left lower *** 7 mo after initial operation,laparoscopic removal of the left omental nodule was *** pathological results indicated metastatic clear cell ***,the patient is being treated with adjuvant *** Omental metastasis of RCC owing to laparoscopic radical nephrectomy is *** should be aware of the diverse nature of RCC.

We suggest a low cross-talk plasmonic cross-connector based on a metal/insulator/metal cavity and *** separately investigate the isolated cavity mode, the waveguide mode, and the combination of cavity and waveguide modes using a finite-different time-domain method. Due to resonant tunneling and the cutoff frequency of the odd waveguide mode, our proposed structure achieves a high throughput transmission ratio and eliminates cross-talk. Furthermore, the proposed structure has a broadband tunability of 587 nm, which can be achieved by modulating the cavity air gap thickness. This structure enables the miniaturization of photonic integrated circuits and sensing applications.

AIM：To compare the long-term efficacy and safety of Ex Press implantation and standard trabeculectomy in patients with primary open angle glaucoma（POAG）.METHODS：In this retrospective study,we compared 17eyes treated by Ex Press implantation with 23 eyes treated by *** was assessed according to the relevant intraocular pressure（IOP）values and success rates during the first year of *** corneal endothelial cell loss was also ***：The number of antiglaucoma medications and the IOP reduction were similar between the 2 groups during the follow-up *** the mean IOP was similar,the IOP-fluctuation rate during the early postoperative period was significantly lower in the ExPress group than in the trabeculectomy group（P=0.038）.A Kaplan-Meier survival curve analysis showed no significant successrate difference between the groups（P=0.810）.The corneal endothelial cell loss rate,moreover,was significantly lower in the Ex Press group（P=0.05）.CONCLUSION：Ex Press implantation compared with trabeculectomy showed similar IOP-reduction and success rates along with lower IOP fluctuation and endothelial cell loss *** this reason,it can be considered to be the treatment of choice for patients with advanced glaucoma or low corneal endothelial cell density.

Abstinence from prolonged psychostimulant use prompts stimulant withdrawal *** adaptations within the dorsal striatum have been considered the main hallmark of stimulant abstinence. Here we explored striatal miRNA-target interaction and its impact on circulating miRNA marker as well as behavioral dysfunctions in methamphetamine(MA) abstinence. We conducted miRNA sequencing and profiling in the nonhuman primate model of MA abstinence, followed by miRNA qPCR,LC-MS/MS proteomics, immunoassays, and behavior tests in mice. In nonhuman primates, MA abstinence triggered a lasting upregulation of miR-137 in the dorsal striatum but a simultaneous downregulation of circulating miR-137. In mice, aberrant increase in striatal miR-137-dependent inhibition of SYNCRIP essentially mediated the MA abstinence-induced reduction of circulating miR-137. Pathway modeling through experimental deduction illustrated that the MA abstinence-mediated downregulation of circulating miR-137 was caused by reduction of SYNCRIP-dependent miRNA sorting into the exosomes in the dorsal striatum. Furthermore, diminished SYNCRIP in the dorsal striatum was necessary for MA abstinence-induced behavioral bias towards egocentric spatial learning. Taken together, our data revealed circulating miR-137 as a potential blood-based marker that could reflect MA abstinence-dependent changes in striatal miR-137/SYNCRIP axis, and striatal SYNCRIP as a potential therapeutic target for striatum-associated cognitive dysfunction by MA withdrawal syndrome.

Graphene(Gr)/Si-based optoelectronic devices have attracted a lot of academic attention due to the simpler fabrication processes,low costs,and higher performance of their two-dimensional(2D)/three-dimensional(3D)hybrid interfaces in Schottky junction that promotes electron-hole ***,due to the built-in potential of Gr/Si as a photodetector,the Iph/Idark ratio is often hindered near zero-bias at relatively low illumination *** is a major drawback in self-powered *** this study,we have demonstrated a self-powered van der Waals heterostructure photodetector in the visible range using a Gr/hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)/Si structure and clarified that the thin h-BN insertion can engineer asymmetric carrier transport and avoid interlayer coupling at the *** dark current was able to be suppressed by inserting an h-BN insulator layer,while maintaining the photocurrent with minimal decrease at near *** a result,the normalized photocurrent-to-dark ratio(NPDR)is improved more than 104 ***,both Iph/Idark ratio and detectivity,increase by more than 104 times at−0.03 V drain *** proposed Gr/h-BN/Si heterostructure is able to contribute to the introduction of next-generation photodetectors and photovoltaic devices based on graphene or silicon.

Intussusception is rarely observed in adults. Adult cases account for only 5% of all cases of intussusceptions and almost 1%-5% of bowel obstruction cases. The etiology, presentation and management of intussusception in adults are different from those in children. The clinical presentation in adults often includes nonspecific signs and symptoms, thereby complicating differential diagnosis from other causes of abdominal pain. We report a 29-year-old Asian woman who visited our emergency department with complaints of fever associated with epigastric pain since one day. Abdominal computed tomography demonstrated ileocolic intussusception, and laparoscopic small bowel luminal mass resection was performed. Histopathology report confirmed a 3.5 cm × 2.7 cm submucosal lipoma in the terminal ileum. Sufficient vigilance and appropriate investigations are important for prompt diagnosis and surgical referral of patients to enable favorable outcomes. A computed tomography scan can be a helpful modality in establishing a diagnosis.

Titanium-aluminum-nitride（TiAlN） films were grown by plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition（PEALD）on 316 L stainless steel at a deposition temperature of 200 °C. A supercycle, consisting of one AlN and ten TiN subcycles, was used to prepare TiAlN films with a chemical composition of Ti（0.25）Al（0.25）N（0.50）. The addition of AlN to TiN resulted in an increased electrical resistivity of TiAlN films of 2800 μΩ cm, compared with 475 μΩ cm of TiN films, mainly due to the high electrical resistivity of AlN and the amorphous structure of TiAlN. However, potentiostatic polarization measurements showed that amorphous TiAlN films exhibited excellent corrosion resistance with a corrosion current density of 0.12 μA/cm^2, about three times higher than that of TiN films, and about 12.5 times higher than that of 316 L stainless steel.

Pollen tube growth is essential for successful double fertilization, which is critical for grain yield in crop plants. Rapid alkalinization factors(RALFs) function as ligands for signal transduction during fertilization. However, functional studies on RALF in monocot plants are ***, we functionally characterized two pollen-specific RALFs in rice(Oryza sativa) using multiple clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9-induced loss-of-function mutants,peptide treatment, expression analyses, and tag reporter lines. Among the 41 RALF members in rice, OsRALF17 was specifically expressed at the highest level in pollen and pollen *** applied OsRALF17 or OsRALF19peptide inhibited pollen tube germination and elongation at high concentrations but enhanced tube elongation at low concentrations, indicating growth regulation. Double mutants of OsRALF17 and OsRALF19(ralf17/19) exhibited almost full male sterility with defects in pollen hydration, germination, and tube elongation,which was partially recovered by exogenous treatment with OsRALF17 peptide. This study revealed that two partially functionally redundant OsRALF17 and OsRALF19 bind to Oryza sativa male-gene transfer defective 2(OsMTD2) and transmit reactive oxygen species signals for pollen tube germination and integrity maintenance in rice. Transcriptomic analysis confirmed their common downstream genes, in osmtd2 and ralf17/19. This study provides new insights into the role of RALF, expanding our knowledge of the biological role of RALF in regulating rice fertilization.

Long-Term Outcome and Risk Factor Analysis of Surgical Pulmonary Valve Replacement in Congenital Heart Disease

Objectives:To establish long-term outcome of surgical pulmonary valve replacement(PVR)in congenital heart disease(CHD)and to identify risk factors for overall mortality,operative mortality,and repetitive ***:This is a retrospective study of 375 surgical PVR in 293 patients who underwent surgical PVR for CHD between January 2000 and May *** only included patients with index PVR with previous open-heart surgery regardless of the number of *** previous surgical history of patients who underwent PVR during the study period was also *** who underwent the Rastelli operation,and those who underwent single PVR without previous open-heart surgery were ***:The median age of the patients at the time of surgical PVR was 14.9 years(Interquartile range,IQR,11.0–22.0).The median follow-up duration was 10.5 years(IQR,5.5–14.8 years).There were 3 patients with operative mortality(1.0%)and 15 patients with overall mortality(5.1%).The survival rate was 95.1%over 20 years follow-up *** analysis demonstrated that more than 3 times of previous open-heart surgeries before surgical PVR,older age at the first operation,longer cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB)time and longer intensive care unit(ICU)stay were predictors for overall *** who underwent surgical PVR after more than 3 times of previous open-heart surgeries had significantly higher mortality than those who underwent open-heart surgeries less than 3 times(Pyounger than 10 years,male,multiple valve problems and longer ICU stay were significant predictors for repetitive PVR by multivariate ***:Though surgical PVR has excellent long-term outcome,it should be performed with caution for those who previously underwent multiple open-heart surgeries,especially if patient received more than 3 times of open-heart surgeries.
