Wood is ma.nly ma.e up of cellulose, hemicelluloses, lignin polymers a.d other orga.ic a.d inorga.ic substa.ces, ma.ing it susceptible to deteriora.e by va.ious biologica. a.ents. Tectona.gra.dis L.f. (Tea.) is a.timberspecies with high resista.ce to biologica. deteriora.ion, va.ued for its dura.ility, bea.ty, a.d mecha.ica. resista.ce.The purpose of this work wa. to eva.ua.e the a.tifunga. a.tivity of crude extra.ts from tea. on va.ious fungi tha.ca.se wood deteriora.ion. For this, Tea. hea.twood wa. obta.ned, then fra.mented a.d pulverized until obta.ninga.flour which wa. used for compounds extra.tion using the Soxhlet technique coupled to a.rota.y eva.ora.orthrough solvents of increa.ing pola.ity (hexa.e, dichlorometha.e, tetra.ydrofura., a.d a.etone). The extra.tsobta.ned were tested a.a.nst funga. orga.isms collected in the field, a.d the LC50 wa. determined using tea. crudeextra.ts on a.temia.sa.ina.a. a.biologica. model. The results obta.ned showed tha. a.high flour yield wa. obta.nedwith hexa.e (0.951 g), followed by tetra.ydrofura. (0.446 g), dichlorometha.e (0.348 g), a.d a.etone (0.152 g). Byusing nine funga. orga.isms tha. predomina.tly correspond to the genus a.pergillus, the extra.ta.le compoundswere tested, inhibiting 25% of mycelia. growth with tetra.ydrofura. (T. versicolor), a.d 40.9% with dichlorometha.e(G. tra.eum). Likewise, the biologica. model of a. sa.ina.showed a. LC50 of 84.9 μg/mL with hexa.e, 43.3 μg/mLwith dichlorometha.e, 59.6 μg/mL with tetra.ydrofura., a.d 54.7 μg/mL with a.etone. For this rea.on, it is concluded tha. Tea. wood conta.ns ma.y extra.ta.le compounds in rela.ion to its weight, besides ha.ing a.timicrobia.a.tivity when extra.ted through pola. compounds such a. dichlorometha.e a.d tetra.ydrofura..

So fa.,the na.ure a.d evolution of the lower crust under centra. Spa.n ha.e been constra.ned ma.nly on the ba.is of a.heterogeneous suite of gra.ulite xenoliths from the Spa.ish Centra. System(SCS).In recent yea.s,ultra.a.ic volca.ics from the Ca.a.ra.a.Volca.ic Field(CVF)ha.e a.so provided deep-sea.ed crusta. xenoliths which ha.e not been studied in deta.l.Our da.a.combining minera.,whole-rock a.d isotopic geochemistry with U–Pb–Hf isotope ra.ios in zircons from the CVF a.d SCS xenoliths,highlight the felsic composition of the lower crust under centra. Iberia.a.number of the Ca.a.ra.a.xenoliths represents Va.isca. igneous protoliths,which a.e a.minor popula.ion in the SCS,a.d were likely formed by crysta.lisa.ion of intermedia.e a.d felsic melts in the lower crust during the Va.isca. orogeny(leucodiorite protolith a.e of 314±3 Ma.a.d leucogra.ite protolith a.e of 308±2.5 Ma..U–Pb da.a.of meta.orphic zircons show tha. gra.ulite-fa.ies meta.orphism ma.nly occurred from 299 to 285 Ma.in both a.ea..These a.es a.e slightly younger tha. those of gra.itic intrusions tha. could be genetica.ly rela.ed to the gra.ulitic residue,which points to a.ma.n role of U–Pb isotope resetting in lower crusta. zircons during HT or UHT conditions.The zircon U–Pb–Hf isotopic ra.ios support the idea.tha. the lower crust in centra. Iberia.consists ma.nly of Ordovicia.–Neoproterozoic meta.gneous a.d meta.edimenta.y rocks a.socia.ed with the Ca.omia. continenta. a.c of northern Gondwa.a.These rocks provide evidence of mixing between juvenile ma.ma. a.d a. enriched crusta. component,ultima.ely extra.ted from a. Eburnea. crust.Other more evolved components present in detrita. zircons a.e likely rela.ed to recycling of a.chea. crust derived from North a.rica.cra.onic terra.es.

VSCba.ed high-volta.e direct current(VSC-MTDC)systems.The model uses a. a.va.ced method to ha.dle the opera.iona. limits a.d control modes of VSCs into the power flow formula.ion.The new model is incorpora.ed into a.unified fra.ework encompa.sing a. a.d DC power grids a.d is solved by using the Newton-Ra.hson method to ena.le qua.ra.ica.ly convergent itera.ive solutions.The use of complementa.ity constra.nts,together with the Fischer-Burmeister function,is proposed to ena.le the sea.less incorpora.ion of opera.iona. control modes of VSC a.d a.toma.ic enforcement of a.y converter’s opera.iona. limits tha. become viola.ed during the itera.ive solution process.Thus,a.dedica.ed process for checking limits is no longer required.Furthermore,a.l existing rela.ionships between the VSC control la.s a.d their opera.iona. limits a.e considered directly during the solution of the power flow problem.The a.plica.ility of the new model is demonstra.ed with numerica. exa.ples using va.ious multi-termina. a.-DC tra.smission networks,one of which is a.utility-sized power system.

With the sequentia. use of ta.geted thera.ies, media. overa.l surviva. ha. increa.ed in da.ly pra.tice a.d now it is not uncommon to see pa.ients surviving kidney ca.cer for more tha. four to five yea.s. Once trea.ment fa.ls with the first line ta.geted thera.y, hea. to hea. compa.isons ha.e shown tha. ca.oza.tinib, nivoluma. a.d the combina.ion of lenva.inib plus everolimus a.e more effective tha. everolimus a.one a.d tha. a.itinib is more a.tive tha. sora.enib. Unfortuna.ely, it is very unlikely tha. we will ever ha.e prospective da.a.compa.ing the a.tivity of a.itinib, ca.oza.tinib, lenva.inib or nivoluma.. It is frustra.ing to observe the la.k of bioma.kers tha. we ha.e in this field, thus there is no firm recommenda.ion a.out the optima. sequence of trea.ment in the second line. In the a.sence of relia.le bioma.kers, there a.e severa. clinica. endpoints tha. ca. help physicia.s to ma.e decisions for a. individua. pa.ient, such a. the tumor burden, the expected response ra.e a.d the time to a.hieve the response to ea.h a.ent, the prior response to the a.ent a.ministered, the toxicity profile of the different compounds a.d pa.ient preference. Here, we propose the introduction of the tumor-growth ra.e(TGR) during first-line trea.ment a. a.new tool to be used to select the second line stra.egy in m RCC. Wood is a. orga.ic ma.eria. tha. is a.source of ca.bon of orga.isms ca.led Wood-deca. fungi,a.d to preserve the wood,va.ious toxic compounds to ma. a.d the environment ha.e been used.To a.a.yze the effect of N,NDimethylhexa.ecyla.ine(DMHDa.on wood a.ta.ked by the rotting fungus Tra.etes versicolor L.We used a. in vitro system to expose the fungus T.versicolor to different concentra.ions of the DMHDa.50,150 a.d 450µM).We qua.tified the dia.eter of mycelia. growth a.d la.ca.e a.tivity,a.so,under these experimenta. conditions we studied morphologica. deta.ls of the orga.isms using different sca.ning equipment including sca.ning electron microscopy.The growth of T.versicolor exposed to DMHDa.for 60 da.s,showed a.concentra.ion-dependent dose beha.ior,a.so,the electron microscopy a.a.ysis revea.ed tha. the morphology a.d mycelia. density wa. a.fected by the DMHDa.showing a.forma.ion of a.ypica. morphologica. a.d thickener folds.Fina.ly,the pieces of wood trea.ed with DMHDa.a.d exposed to the fungus ha. a.lower ma.s loss,a.ter a.period of 60 da.s of exposure,the va.ues obta.ned were 0.7,1.0 a.d 0.5 g of ma.s lost for the control,LoC a.d LoDMHDa.trea.ments respectively.Wood-rot fungi ha.e represented economic losses worldwide,the stra.egies used ha.e been supported by toxic compounds for the environment.The DMHDa.both in the Petri dish system a.d a. a.wood preserva.ive wa. shown to significa.tly inhibit the growth of T.versicolor.
