Physical and geometrical parameters of CVBS XIV:the two nearby systems HIP 19206 and HIP 84425

Data release 2(DR2) from the Gaia mission was of great help in precise determination of fundamental parameters of Close Visual Binary and Multiple Systems(CVBMSs), especially masses of their components, which are crucial parameters in understanding formation and evolution of stars and galaxies. This article presents the complete set of fundamental parameters for two nearby close visual binary systems(CVBSs), which are HIP 19206 and HIP 84425. We utilised a combination of two methods;the first one is Tokovinin's dynamical method to solve the orbit of the system and to estimate orbital elements and the dynamical mass sum, and the second one is Al-Wardat's method for analysing CVBMSs to estimate the physical parameters of the individual components. The latest method employs grids of Kurucz lineblanketed plane parallel model atmospheres to build synthetic Spectral Energy Distributions(SEDs) of the individual components. Trigonometric parallax measurements given by Gaia DR2 and Hipparcos catalogues are used to analyse the two systems. The difference in these measurements yielded slight discrepancies in the fundamental parameters of the individual components, especially masses. So, a new dynamical parallax is suggested in this work based on the most convenient mass sum as given by each of the two methods. The new dynamical parallax for the system HIP 19205 of 22.97±0.95 mas coincides well with the trigonometric one reported recently(in December 2020) by Gaia EDR3 of 22.3689 ± 0.4056 mas. The positions of the components of the two systems on the evolutionary tracks and isochrones are plotted, which suggest that all components are solar-type main sequence stars. Their most probable formation and evolution scenarios are also discussed.

Phosphoric Acid Pretreatment and Saccharification of Paper Sludge as a Renewable Material for Cellulosic Fibers

Recycling of paper sludge waste is crucial for establishing a sustainable green *** waste contains valuable sugars that can be converted into important chemicals such as ethanol,poly hydroxybutyrate,and lactic ***,the main challenge in obtaining sugars in high yield from paper sludge is the high crystallinity of cellulose,which hinders *** address this,pretreatment using phosphoric acid was optimized using response surface methodology to facilitate cellulose hydrolysis with minimal energy and *** created prediction model using the response surface method considered factors such as acid concentration(ranging from 60%to 85%),consistency(ranging from 4%to 10%),temperature(ranging from 25℃to 80℃),and time(ranging from 0.5 to 4 h).The results revealed that the model’s significant factors affecting the yield were acid concentration,reaction time,temperature,and the product of acid concentration and temperature,while the model’s significant factors affecting the crystallinity were the consistency,the temperature,and their *** results showed that the optimum conditions for pretreatment were using an acid concentration of 64%,temperature of 25℃,consistency of 10%,and time of 30 *** hydrolysis of the conditionally pretreated paper sludge resulted in a weight loss of 42%,compared to only 18%weight loss in non-pretreated paper ***,the optimized conditions led to low levels of furfurals and acetic acid,which are undesirable by-products that can interfere with sugar *** total sugar obtained under the optimized conditions was 0.43 g glucose/g sample(10.46 g/L),while the contents of methyl furfural,furfural,and acetic acid were 21.65,235.7,and 4.57 mg/L,*** study demonstrates the potential of phosphoric acid for pretreatment and hydrolysis of paper sludge,enabling efficient saccharification and the production of sugars with minimal undesired by-products.

CDYL1 fosters double-strand break-induced transcription silencing and promotes homology-directed repair

Cells have evolved DNA damage response （DDR） to repair DNA lesions and thus preserving genomic stability and impeding carcinogenesis. DNA damage induction is accompanied by transient transcription repression. Here, we describe a previously unrecognized role of chromodomain Y-like （CDYL1） protein in fortifying double-strand break （DSB）-induced transcription repression and repair. We showed that CDYL1 is rapidly recruited to damaged euchromatic regions in a poly （ADP-ribose） polymerase 1 （PARP1）-dependent, but ataxia telangiectasia mutated （ATM）-independent, manner. While the C-terminal region, containing the enoyl-CoA hydratase like （ECH） domain, of CDYL1 binds to poly （ADP-ribose）（PAR） moieties and mediates CDYL1 accumulation at DNA damage sites, the chromodomain and histone H3 trimethylated on lysine 9 （H3K9me3） mark are dispensable for its recruitment. Furthermore, CDYL1 promotes the recruitment of enhancer of zeste homolog 2 （EZH2）, stimulates local increase of the repressive methyl mark H3K27me3, and promotes transcription silencing at DSB sites. In addition, following DNA damage induction, CDYL1 depletion causes persistent G2/M arrest and alters H2AX and replication protein A （RPA2） phosphorylation. Remarkably, the ‘traffic-light reporter’ system revealed that CDYL1 mainly promotes homology-directed repair （HDR） of DSBs in vivo. Consequently, CDYL1-knockout cells display synthetic lethality with the chemotherapeutic agent, cisplatin. Altogether, our findings identify CDYL1 as a new component of the DDR and suggest that the HDR-defective ‘BRCAness’ phenotype of CDYL1-deficient cells could be exploited for eradicating cancer cells harboring CDYL1 mutations.

Comparing the efficiency of artificial neural networks in sEMG-based simultaneous and continuous estimation of hand kinematics

Surface Electromyography(sEMG)plays a key role in many applications such as control of Human-Machine Interfaces(HMI)and neuromusculoskeletal *** has strongly nonlinear relations to joint kinematics and reflects the subjects’intention in moving their *** relations have been traditionally examined by either integrated biomechanics and multi-body dynamics or gesture-based classification ***,these methods have drawbacks that limit their *** from them,joint kinematics can be continuously reconstructed from sEMG via estimation approaches,for instance,the Artificial Neural Networks(ANNs).The Comparison of different ANNs used in different studies is difficult,and in many cases,*** current study focuses on fairly evaluating four types of ANN over the same dataset and conditions in proportional and simultaneous estimation of 15 hand joint angles from 10 sEMG *** presented ANNs are Feedforward,Cascade-Forward,Radial Basis Function(RBFNN),and Generalized Regression(GRNN).Each ANN is applied to its special parametric *** the methods efficiently solved the regression problem of the complex multi-input multi-output *** RBFNN has the best performance over the others with a 79.80%mean correlation coefficient over all joints,and its accuracy reaches as high as 92.67%in some ***,the highest accuracy over individual joints is 93.46%,which is achieved via the *** good accuracy suggests that the proposed approaches can be used as alternatives to the previously adopted ones and can be employed effectively to synchronously control multi-degrees of freedom HMI and for general multi-joint kinematics estimation purposes.

Securing digital data from unauthorized access throughout its entire lifecycle has been always a critical concern.A robust data security system should protect the information assets of any organization against cybercriminal *** Twofish algorithm is one of the well-known symmetric key block cipher cryptographic algorithms and has been known for its rapid *** when it comes to security,it is not the preferred cryptographic algorithm to use compared to other algorithms that have shown better *** applications and social platforms have adopted other symmetric key block cipher cryptographic algorithms such as the Advanced Encryption Standard(AES)algorithm to construct their main security *** this paper,a new modification for the original Twofish algorithm is proposed to strengthen its security and to take advantage of its fast *** new algorithm has been named Split-n-Swap(SnS).Performance analysis of the new modification algorithm has been performed using different measurement *** experimental results show that the complexity of the SnS algorithm exceeds that of the original Twofish algorithm while maintaining reasonable values for encryption and decryption times as well as memory utilization.A detailed analysis is given with the strength and limitation aspects of the proposed algorithm.

Ensemble Machine Learning to Enhance Q8 Protein Secondary Structure Prediction

Protein structure prediction is one of the most essential objectives practiced by theoretical chemistry and bioinformatics as it is of a vital importance in medicine,biotechnology and *** secondary structure prediction(PSSP)has a significant role in the prediction of protein tertiary structure,as it bridges the gap between the protein primary sequences and tertiary structure *** secondary structures are classified into two categories:3-state category and 8-state *** the 3 states and the 8 states of secondary structures from protein sequences are called the Q3 prediction and the Q8 prediction problems,*** 8 classes of secondary structures reveal more precise structural information for a variety of applications than the 3 classes of secondary structures,however,Q8 prediction has been found to be very challenging,that is why all previous work done in PSSP have focused on Q3 *** this paper,we develop an ensemble Machine Learning(ML)approach for Q8 PSSP to explore the performance of ensemble learning algorithms compared to that of individual ML algorithms in Q8 *** ensemble members considered for constructing the ensemble models are well known classifiers,namely SVM(Support Vector Machines),KNN(K-Nearest Neighbor),DT(Decision Tree),RF(Random Forest),and NB(Naïve Bayes),with two feature extraction techniques,namely LDA(Linear Discriminate Analysis)and PCA(Principal Component Analysis).Experiments have been conducted for evaluating the performance of single models and ensemble models,with PCA and LDA,in Q8 *** novelty of this paper lies in the introduction of ensemble learning in Q8 PSSP *** experimental results confirmed that ensemble ML models are more accurate than individual ML *** also indicated that features extracted by LDA are more effective than those extracted by PCA.

Resveratrol and fenofibrate ameliorate fructose-induced nonalcoholic steatohepatitis by modulation of genes expression

AIM: To evaluate the effect of resveratrol, alone and in combination with fenofibrate, on fructose-induced metabolic genes abnormalities in ***: Giving a fructose-enriched diet (FED) to rats for 12 wk was used as a model for inducing hepatic dyslipidemia and insulin resistance. Adult male albino rats (150-200 g) were divided into a control group and a FED group which was subdivided into 4 groups, a control FED, fenofibrate (FENO) (100 mg/kg), resveratrol (RES) (70 mg/kg) and combined treatment (FENO + RES) (half the doses). All treatments were given orally from the 9th week till the end of experimental period. Body weight, oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), liver index, glucose, insulin, insulin resistance (HOMA), serum and liver triglycerides (TGs), oxidative stress (liver MDA, GSH and SOD), serum AST, ALT, AST/ALT ratio and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) were measured. Additionally, hepatic gene expression of suppressor of cytokine signaling-3 (SOCS-3), sterol regulatory element binding protein-1c (SREBP-1c), fatty acid synthase (FAS), malonyl CoA decarboxylase (MCD), transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and adipose tissue genes expression of leptin and adiponectin were investigated. Liver sections were taken for histopathological examination and steatosis area were ***: Rats fed FED showed damaged liver, impairment of glucose tolerance, insulin resistance, oxidative stress and dyslipidemia. As for gene expression, there was a change in favor of dyslipidemia and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) development. All treatment regimens showed some benefit in reversing the described deviations. Fructose caused deterioration in hepatic gene expression of SOCS-3, SREBP-1c, FAS, MDA and TGF-β1 and in adipose tissue gene expression of leptin and adiponectin. Therapeutic potential of Calotropis gigantea extract against invasive pulmonary aspergillosis:In vitro and in vivo study

Objective:To characterize the antifungal activity of methanolic leaf extract of Calotropis gigantea alone or in combination with amphotericin B against invasive pulmonary aspergillosis in ***:GC/MS was used for analysis of active constituents of Calotropis gigantea *** germination assay and broth micro-dilution method were used to determine antifungal potential of Calotropis gigantea/amphotericin B against Aspergillus *** mice were randomly assigned into 5 groups:group 1 was neutropenic(control);group 2 was infected with Aspergillus fumigatus;group 3 was infected with Aspergillus fumigatus,and treated with Calotropis gigantea extract;group 4 was infected with Aspergillus fumigatus and treated with amphotericin B;group 5 was infected with Aspergillus fumigatus and treated with both Calotropis gigantea extract and amphotericin *** lung tissues were histopathologically *** burden and gliotoxin concentration were evaluated in lung ***,superoxide dismutase,and malondialdehyde content were determined in lung ***,tumor necrosis factor-alpha,interleukin-1,and interleukin-17 were also estimated by the sandwich enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent ***:Calotropis gigantea/amphotericin B had a minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum fungicidal concentration of 80 and 160μg/mL,respectively,for Aspergillus ***,Calotropis gigantea/amphotericin B significantly reduced lung fungal burden by 72.95%and inhibited production of gliotoxin in lung tissues from 6320 to 1350μg/g *** gigantea/amphotericin B reduced the oxidative stress of the lung via elevating the activity of antioxidant enzymes and decreasing the levels of lipid *** activity and the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines were also significantly *** electron microscopy revealed deteriorations in the hyphae ultrastructure in Calotropis gigantea/amphotericin B trea
